Beth Am brings us together to connect deeply with one another and with our tradition, find

guidance and purpose to face life’s challenges, and inspire us to work for a better world.

We are a strong and healthy synagogue community — with a rich history of serving

our members since 1955. Founded by visionaries who foresaw a thriving Reform Jewish

community, over the next two generations we built up our campus and nurtured our

congregation into the vibrant community of over 1500 households we are today.

Now it’s our turn to ensure that our congregation remains relevant, thriving and engaging

for our community members throughout their lives. From Strength to Strength is a multi-faceted

initiative to sustain our solid footing and build on our successes for generations to come.

ENDOWMENT

A healthy endowment is key to both the short-term and long-

term financial health of our Beth Am community. Endowment

funds sustain us by:

Our endowent will guarantee that future

generations will find a thriving and

welcoming place at Beth Am.

 Supporting our current operating

budget and allowing us to

meet the changing needs of

our community.

 Lowering financial barriers to

participation by supplementing

our Fair Share membership

program and subsidizing youth

education tuition.

 Safeguarding our capacity to

weather economic cycles.

IMPROVEMENTS AND INNOVATIONS

From Strength to Strength will fund a variety of important programs and

upgrades for our members now and into the future:

The Orchard

Our exciting and innovative initiative for young adults, designed to

engage the next generation in new and different ways.

Inclusion Director

Our in-house expert engaging with students with special

needs, ensuring that all types of learners feel welcome.

Facility Improvements Making our campus more accessible to members with

mobility challenges, doing much-needed landscaping

and tree care, and providing for aesthetic improvements

in interior spaces.

Campus Security

Supplementing member contributions for increased

security presence during congregational programs

and events.

PROFESSIONAL TEAM HOUSING FUND

Campaign Goal

$8,600,000

A more substantial Professional Team Housing Fund

will ensure that we continue to attract and retain

the best possible clergy and educators to lead

our congregation. We need increased funding to

expand our capacity to provide rental and down

payment assistance.

Marder Endowment for Living TorahRabbi Janet Marder has dedicated 21 years to guiding

Beth Am members through a life inspired by Torah.

The Marder Endowment for Living Torah celebrates

and honors Rabbi Marder on the occasion of her

retirement, supporting the worship, educational and

other opportunities that she has initiated, nurtured

and led. The Marder Endowment is an enduring and

meaningful way for our community to thank Rabbi

Marder and carry her impact forward.

Campaign proceeds will fund the Marder Endowment, or you may designate your entire gift directly to this fund.

HOW TO GIVE

With your full and generous heart! We encourage you

to think bigger than you have ever thought for a Beth Am

gift, all the way to a “stretch” gift that makes you proud.

Technically speaking, here are your options:

1. Check

2. Credit card (need miles, anyone?)

3. Donor-advised fund

4. Stock gift (a great way to avoid capital gains taxes)

5. For donors 70 ½ or older, a Qualified Charitable

Distribution (QCD) from your IRA

6. Corporate matching funds (Beth Am may qualify:

please check with your employer about this great

opportunity to supplement your gift)

7. Thinking about a gift but not sure what’s right for

you? Our campaign cabinet would love to talk.

Please complete and return the enclosed reply card to let

us know your plans, or call Mandy Eisner in the Beth Am

office at (650) 493-4661, ext. 211 with any questions.

Thank you.
