It makes God sound like a genie who will grant every wish. However let’s not forget the key words that begin this verse: ...if you remain in Me... That’s a big condition. And there’s more: ...if My words remain in you... The fact is, if you remain in God, your desires and prayers will become increasingly geared towards wanting more of His good, flourishing growth in your life and in the lives of those around you. God promises to provide all our needs; so, if you really do need something, believe God will provide. That’s not as nice as it might sound. Think about it. If you really really need something, God will provide it. If you really need that top-of-the-range fresh-out pro-computer, God will make sure you receive it. But if you don’t, if all you really need is a pen and paper, that may just be what you get. You’ve got to live knowing that whatever you get from God is the best for you at that time. Learn to rejoice in being given (only) what you need. His hand will reach to you, and sort out your provisions. But always seek to look for His face first, and His hand second. So, now’s the moment for a tough question: what do you want most in your life right now? Out with it. Now: does that line up with what you’ve read today? And, if not, what are you going to do about it? - word4u2day.com If you have a child due to start in Pre- Kindy, Kindy or Year 7 in 2015 and have not lodged an Enrolment Application Form with the Admin Office, please do so ASAP. Finance Office ClosedNext Wednesday, 28 May, the Finance Office will be closed as staff will be away at training.

Uniforms Needed for Exchange StudentsWe have had a great response from school families regarding exchange students and will be welcoming 2 Italian students and 4 French students to our high school later this term and in term 3. We are needing to source second-hand school and sports uniforms (‘old’ uniform items are fine) for the girls to either borrow or buy. If you have any such items, could you please drop them off to the front office or ask your child to drop them into Mrs Grange’s office, having firstly named and priced the uniforms so as we know how much to charge and who to give the money to. If you just want to lend the uniform items, then please ensure the clothing is clearly labeled so as we can return it to you when the girls leave.

HRIS Cross CountryCongratulations to our Primary School runners from our recent showing at the HRIS Cross Country Championships at Cooranbong. Overall our team ran very well with all their points being combined to give our school a close 3rd behind Avondale and Hunter Valley. This is a great result against a lot of larger schools in the 16 school strong HRIS competition and we are very proud of our runners. In our age divisions, we won the 9yrs and 11rs girls age groups as well as having some very strong individual runs. No matter where our runners placed they came be proud that they represented the school so well and this level. Thank you all for their efforts in training at school and at home leading up to the day and running at HRIS. The HRIS Results and Team are posted on the HRIS website: http://www.hris.org.au/ these students will be running at the CIS championships on June 12.

PSSA BasketballThe NSW PSSA Basketball Championships are being held in Albury this week and whilst we do not have any player competing in the competition, we would like to recognise Maddison Thacker for her representation as a CIS referee. It is often a tough job but we would like to say thank you to Maddy for her involvement in the competition and in representing the school, region and CIS association.

CIS NetballLast week the HRIS netball team competed in the NSW CIS Netball Championships at Penrith. Our own, Holly Ayres was part of the team playing against some very tough competition. It was the first time that all associations in NSW entered teams which made for an exciting day. HRIS did very well coming 3rd in the tournament and we would like to thank Holly for representing out school and region at this event.

Basketball TeamsOver the last 2 weeks we have been selecting our basketball squads for the upcoming competitions. It has been very tough with a great amount of players interested in participating in the sport. Most age groups have now a squad of 16-18 players. Over the next 3 weeks they will be selected into an A & B team for the competitions. The A teams will be playing in the upcoming HRIS basketball competition on the 17th of June and both teams will compete in the Terrigal and Niagra Park competitions in term 3 & 4. 5&6 boys train on Monday morning and lunch. 5&6 girls train on Monday morning and Tuesday lunch. 3&4 boys train on Wednesday mornings and lunch; and 3&4 girls train on Wednesday mornings and Thursday lunch. Students need to attend training to be selected into the relevant teams.
