The Social Studies We are going to focus on African Americans who have made a contribution to our country’s history. This week we are focusing on George Washington Valentine Party Our Valentine’s Day Celebration will be February 14 th . You should have received a Valentine packet in your child’s folder on Tuesday with the details of the Day! If you are unable to purchase Valentine’s Day cards, please let me know! I don’t want anyone to be left out! Thanks! Reading: A Weed is a Flower This week we will be reading A Weed is a Flower. This story focuses on the life of George Washington Carver. The target skills we will be focusing on this week are comparative endings, cause and effect, Spelling: Practice Test on WednesdayThere will be a practice spelling test this Wednesday. The new words will be passed out on Monday and are listed at the bottom of these notes. We will work on these words all week in class. Math: Chapter 9 We will finish chapter 9, which focuses on money and making change. Math facts for the week are -9 and -8. The test will be Friday. The students have 2 ½ minutes to complete 25 problems!Social StudiesWe are going to focus on African Americans who have made a contribution to our country’s history. This week we are focusing on George Washington Carver.
