ToolsRequired:CrankPuller,AdjustableWrench,PedalWrench,CableCutter,BottomBracketRemover,SetMetricAllenWrenches,9/16”Socket

Step1:RemovePedalsusingaPedalwrench.RememberLeftPedalhasreverseThreads

Step2:Removeplasticcapsfromcrankarmsandremoveboltsusinga9/16”Socket.

Step3:UsingaCrankPuller,removebothsidesofthecrankset..Onceyouhavedonethatyouwillseethebottombracket.

Step4:UsingaBottomBracketTool(WrenchorSocketplusanadjustablewrench)removetheoldbottombracket.Startwiththenonchainringside(L).Thisloosensnormally.Thenremovetherightside.TherightsidehasREVERSEthreads-itloosensclockwise.

Step5:Insertthenewbottombracketstartingwiththerightside(tightenscounterclockwise)Theninserttheleftside.Tightenthembothsnugusingthebottombracketwrench.

Step6:Takeyournewcranksetandputonthesquaretapersofthenewbottombracket.Usingtheprovidedboltstightenthemtothebottombracketusingan8mmAllenWrench.Reattachthepedalstothenewcrankset.Andputthechainonthecranksetrings.

Step7:RemovethelittlesilverscrewandwasherfromtheinsideofthenewFrontDerailleur.Thiswillallowyoutoopenituptoputthechaininwithoutremovingchainlinks.

Step8:InstallFrontDerailleuronDerailleurPost.Openupderailleurwhereyouremovedthatscrewtoallowchaintogoin.Reinsertandtightenthatsmallscrewandwasherthatyouremovedinstep7.TightentheFrontDerailleurusinga5mmallenwrench.Makesureitisrotatedparalleltothechainringsandhighenoughsoitcanclearthelargestchainringwhenextended.

Step9:Removethelefthandlebargrip.Putthenewfrontshifteronthehandlebarandtightenwithallenwrench.Replacegrip-youmightwanttoeithercutthegripalittlesmallerorpurchasea“shortygrip”

Step10:Threadthederailleurcablethroughthenewcablehousing.Placethe“BoomCableGuide”intotheholeintheboomasshown.Putthechaininthesmallestring,turntheshifterto“1”andtightenthecableinthefrontderailleurusinga5mmallenwrench.Youwantjustalittleslackinthecablebitnotmuch.Usingtheprovidedcableferule,putovertheendofthecableandcrimp.

Adjustments:Usesometiewrapstoattachthenewcablehousingtothehandlebarsandframe.Youwillprobablyhavetodosomeadjustingofthenewfrontderailleur.Thereare2limitscrewsontop-theonenearestthederailleurpostsadjuststheinnerlimit,theoneontheoutsideadjuststheinnerlimit.Itisalsopossiblenowthatyouhaveabiggerchainringthatyouwillneedtoaddafewlinksofchain.
