Fasting ExplainedWhat is Fasting?

Biblical fasting is, very simply, denying oneself food for the sake of seeking and honoring God. Prayer is connecting with God; fasting is disconnecting ourselves from the World. You can also fast from other things that keep you connected to the World, too. Things like TV, social networking, music, cell-phones, and more.

What fasting is NOT.

• A diet• Starvation• Miserable Experience• A ‘Grown Up’ Thing• All about what you can’t eat and Can’t do

Why Should I Fast?Over time, it’s very easy for our souls to get “gunked up”. Fasting is a way to give our

bodies and our souls a deep cleaning. When we do, we find that not only do we feel better, but as we draw closer to God, we are more in tune with His voice. How Do I Fast? There are several different types of fasts. We have listed several below for you to choose one, or a combination.

Types Of FastsSpecific Food or Activity Fast

In this type of fast you omit a specific item(s) from your meal plans. For example, you may choose to eliminate all red meat, processed or fast food, or sweets. Most people can incorporate this type of fast relatively easily. It can also prove to be a great solution for people with specific dietary needs or medical conditions that may cause certain limitations. While fasting typically refers to refraining from specific food items, you may also find it extremely beneficial to fast from a regular activity or habit. This might include things such as television, social media, and the like. Prayer and fasting are not just about connecting to God but also about disconnecting from the world. Try to tune out some of the regular distractions from your day as much as possible. Replace that time with things that will nourish you spiritually.

Daniel FastThe Daniel fast is a great model to follow and one that is extremely effective for spiritual

focus, bodily discipline, and purification of the body and soul. It is probably one of the most commonly referred-to fasts; however, within the Daniel fast there is room for broad interpretation. In the book of Daniel we find two different times where the prophet Daniel fasted. Daniel 1 states that he only ate vegetables and water, and in Daniel 10, while the passage does not give a specific list of foods that Daniel ate, it does state that he ate no rich (or choice) foods, as well as no meat or wine. So based on these two verses, we can see that

Page 3: 21 Day Focused Fasting And Prayer - Clover Sitesstorage.cloversites.com/christianlifecenter2... · LIFE21 devotional we launch with Salvation. Salvation is an experience yes, but

either of these, or combinations of the two, constitute a Daniel fast.

Again, it is important to mention that there is nothing inherently spiritual about one type of fast as opposed to another. The foundation of the Daniel fast is fruits and vegetables. Some starchy vegetables and dairy could be included, but that depends on the individual. Your goal should be to seek God in prayer about this and follow what the Holy Spirit leads you to do.

Juice FastA juice fast is simply consuming vegetable and fruit juices and water instead of solid food.

Many people include whey protein in their liquid plan as well. This is one of the most popular and effective fasts. Even if you choose not to make your entire fast liquids only, substituting one or two meals for liquids is a great alternative.

Water FastA water-only fast is the normal fast referred to in the Bible. This is how Jesus and the New

Testament church fasted. A water fast is just that—no eating of any food or drinking of any liquids except water. Periodic water fasts can be very beneficial, but extreme precautions should be taken. For some people it is hard to perform effectively at their jobs and have energy for their families while drinking only water. We recommend consulting your physician first, and water fasting only for a day or two unless you can get away or your job allows you to really disconnect so you can give your best energy to the fast.

Let’s Get Practical

• Choose to fast Something• Remember: It’s not always easy• Make time for Prayer and the Word• Be ready for a fight!• Have specific goals for breakthrough• Use the buddy system. Keep in touch with someone throughout

the fast that you can pray with.• Don’t let a mistake get you down

LIFE21: SALVATION - Day 1January 6th

Word Focus: Daniel 10 Prayer Focus: Hearing God’s VoiceFasting Focus: Secular Music and Radio

Salvation is the single greatest miracle that anyone anywhere can receive. As we begin the LIFE21 devotional we launch with Salvation. Salvation is an experience yes, but salvation is more than just a memory, or time we engaged with Jesus for the first time. Salvation is a root within every believer that enables them to engage with Jesus daily. Everything stems from our salvation through Jesus Christ. David in Psalm 51 cries out to God from a broken and open heart and says “restore me to the joy of my salvation”. Job 33:26 says, “He prays to God and finds favor with Him, He sees God’s face and shouts for joy; he is restored by God to his righteous state.”

Salvation is not held in our memory banks of when we first encountered Jesus. When we became a believer and salvation was received we became instant candidates for God’s Favor, Mercy, and Grace.

Salvation is the initial “breaking of the ground” in our lives. God began to build, shift, and grow us after we stepped into salvation.

The attitude of Salvation...

Psalm 18:46, “The Lord Lives! Praise be to my Rock! Exalted be God my Savior”

The Lord Lives: 2 Corinthians 13:4 1. He is alive in us2. He is the source of all life 3. Through Him we are made alive and victorious

Praise be to my Rock: Deuteronomy 4:35 1. God is our rock, mighty fortress and our strength 2. In Him we will put our trust

Exalted be God my Savior: 1 Chronicles 16:36 1. When God is truly exalted He will surely send deliverance 2. The saving power of Jesus is the strongest forceHis Sacrifice, His suffering, His death and resurrection bring us into life.

Tasks:

Read Psalm 18 with a perspective of... What am I going to do with Salvation this year that I have never done?

This year is going to be full of LIFE through salvation! Our God loves to triumph over our enemies. Jesus carried the cross for us!

What will we do with this Salvation that we now carry?

LIFE21: LIFE WITHOUT SIN - Day 2January 7thWord Focus: 1 Chronicles 21:18-27 Prayer Focus: Willing HeartFasting Focus: Secular Music and Radio

The Apostle Paul writes in Romans 7, “But there is another power within me that is at war with my mind. This power makes me a slave to the sin that is still within me. Clearing the air... we have all fallen short of the Glory of God, and Jesus Christ was the only sinless being to ever live.” Even Later in the Chapter the apostle says “What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death?”

Victory over Sin is found in the next verse in handling our sin. “Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord” Romans 7:25 Having Victory over sin will not be attained through a spotless sinless year. A year full of LIFE without sin will be lived through our response to sin and our submission to Jesus Christ.

Breaking the norm... Sin comes in, then we feel the guilt, and then we act guilty. Adam and Eve fell and sin entered into the world. We follow the Genesis pattern for sin; punishment and removal from our current life.

Sin needs to be confronted not controlled...

There are few responses to sin when it enters one’s life: hide it, manipulate it, reason with it, make deals with it, create excuses for it, or confront it.

The bible is very clear that “truth is cross-cultural, and that truth sets people free”. Confront your sin; don’t have a stare-down with it. Confess who you are! Confess your freedom! Get a close friend/family member with you, and go after it in prayer.

God sees you PRESENT-FUTURE not PRESENT-PAST. We see our past because we lived it and we struggle with the future because we can’t see it. This is where faith enters in. Faith enables us to believe and stand on the Word of God for our lives. Jesus loves to bring liberty to the captive! Move God with your faith.

God is stronger than any sin, any addiction, any struggle, any difficulty, and He makes the defeated Victorious through Jesus Christ.

Tasks:

Read Psalm 51Get real with God, and open up with concerns and struggles you are facing now and in the near future. The beautiful thing about sincere prayer, from a humble heart is that it activates mercy and grace.

LIFE21: BUSINESSES PROSPER - Day 3January 8thWord Focus: Daniel 1 Prayer Focus: Courage and IntegrityFasting Focus: Secular Music and Radio

As Christian business people we must cultivate biblical vision for our lives and make a choice to spread the Gospel in the marketplace and be a blessing to our local church. Business people usually have the gifts of faith, giving, and leadership. Every business person must be encouraged, challenged, accepted, respected, and released. For you to steward all that God has put into your hands, it will require the right biblical choices.

Christian business people are a sign of the Kingdom of God in the present world, called to cultivate a distinctive that points to the worlds future, and to live and work in the world. You are called to be a light, showing the life of the Kingdom to the world as salt permeating being a reflection of Godly values.

Marks of a Business full of LIFE • BLESSING - Genesis 12:2, Deuteronomy 11:27, 2 Samuel 7:29, 2 Corinthians 9:5-6 • HONOR - Proverbs 11:16; 26:1; 26:8; 20:3; 25:2 • FAVOR - Gen 33:5, Psalm 37:21, Luke 1:30, Luke 2:52 • DELIGHT - Proverbs 7:22; 8:35; 11:27; 15:8; 22:9; 12:22• PROSPEROUS - Gen 24:21, 2 Chronicles 26:5, 1 Corinthians 16:2, 3 John 2 • SUCCESS - Deuteronomy 29:9, Joshua 1:7-8, 1 Kings 2:3

Abandon Worldliness“Do not love the things of the world. If anyone loves the world the love of the father is not in

him. For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the VICTORY that overcomes the world our faith. We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one.” (1 John 2:15; 5:4; 5:19)

Business in 2013 DeclarationI am going to work with a goal toward excellence, and an attitude of achievement toward biblical success, biblical values, and biblical priorities. I am to develop a Godly example in work ethic, in which the average person believes his/her work not only matters, but contributes to a sense of community and integrity in all life. In 2013 I am going to transcend mediocrity in my daily routines, and link my work in the world with my service to an all knowing God of excellence who desires believers to work with excellence and achieve success in my area of responsibility. This is my divine calling.

LIFE21: FINANCES - Day 4January 9thWord Focus: Psalm 119 Prayer Focus: Passion for His WordFasting Focus: Secular Music and Radio

Finances full of LIFE is a case of PERSPECTIVE.

There are four Common perspectives on money:1. It’s not good – Luke 6:20 2. It’s OK – James 2:5-6 3. It’s Good – Proverbs 3:9-10 4. Money is Great – Matthew 13:12

God gives us each a different perspective that aligns with His call on our life. Regardless of the perspective He leads us to, God demands that we are RESPONSIBLE with what He has given us. (See also: Matthew 25:14-30; Matthew 6:19-20; Luke 6:37-38; Psalm 1:1-3)

Areas in our life affected by finances:• Seasons of Life [Young adult age] – the way you handle wealth will be a platform that you

build off for life. Spending money wisely will tend to open many doors for you.

• Friendships – The way you spend will influence your friends to do the same, and can determine the type of people that you attract.

• Work – How you handle money will affect your relationship with your workplace as those around you see your disciplines. Lack of discipline can limit promotions.

• Parenting – The way you handle money as a parent will be learned by your kids. It is very common that kids have the same good and bad financial habits as their parents.

• Counseling – Whether professionally, as a pastor or as a fellow believer, you will constantly be asked by people for input on their finances.

• Marriage – Your spending habits will cause a lot of conversation between you and your spouse. If your habits are good, your conversations will be good. If your habits are bad, plan on some long, frustrating conversations.

• Theology – Many times people will alter their beliefs to approve and/or excuse their financial situation.

Page 12: 21 Day Focused Fasting And Prayer - Clover Sitesstorage.cloversites.com/christianlifecenter2... · LIFE21 devotional we launch with Salvation. Salvation is an experience yes, but

Steps to LIFE in your finances:Step 1 – Seek first the Kingdom of God. Matthew 6:33

Don’t let natural desire for wealth and power drive you. Seek Him and His will, learn to love what God has given you. If God has called you to be rich and in business, go for it! If He has called you to be in a situation where finances are limited, love it! Seeking God’s will for your finances will bring great fulfillment to you and your family.

Step 2 – Put together a budget.Start being proactive in your financial habits, save up for “things” and using saved money to

buy clothes, shoes, haircuts, gas, snowboard tips, coffee, and your date nights instead of putting them on a credit card.

Begin eliminating bad and foolish debt, and start a savings account that you put money in to for the purpose of a safe reserve, not an account that gets emptied every month.

We all have some areas that we can make some adjustments in, look for those areas that you’re not out of balance in and do what is necessary to correct them. Begin a lifestyle that allows you to live within the means of your current budget.

Step 3 – Put tithes and offerings first in your life. When you honor God with the first of your finances the bible makes it clear that He will

bless you. Money is just one way that we put God first in our life, but it is a very big way also.

Malachi 3:10-12, Proverbs 3:9-10, Matthew 23:23

Step 4 – Look for continued input into your financial situation. As you involve people in your life you will find that a little good counsel can go a long way.

Being open to input in your financial world will help you from falling into some of the common pitfalls that people fall into. Proverbs 19:20; Proverbs 21:11

Your ability to handle wealth wisely will play a great part in you fulfilling your God given destiny. Wealth will never be able to buy your destiny, but mismanaging your wealth can definitely cost you in achieving yours. Finances are something that every Christian should be challenged to handle with LIFE!

Re-Establish LIFE in your finances by allowing God to move and give direction.

Proclamation:2013 Will be a year of Financial Freedom, Increase, and Momentum. Lord align my motives

and actions to the Word of God. I will steward the income that God has given me with integrity, purpose, and value. God is my supply, God is my resource, and God has a great plan for my financial future, in Jesus Name. Amen!

When Jesus chose the 12 disciples, He exampled the importance of relationships when he chose them to not just be tag-alongs, but friends. At LIFE Church we believe in LIFE Groups and most importantly the purpose of LIFE Groups.

In 2013 connect with different people, from different “cliques”, different races, and different generations. God will unfold His plan through grace and relationship. The church you involve yourself with is the community you choose to connect yourself to. It imparts a greater sense of purpose in our hearts and minds as we pursue Jesus. Every believer needs a church to be part of. If you feel like LIFE Church is your community there are several ways to become more connected.

Life Groups - Join a Life Group and start “doing life together” with other believers in LIFE Church and with those in your community or neighborhood that you invite. We have groups ranging from motorcycles to marriage, G3 (12-24) to book studies.

LIFE Tracks – Join the Family through these strategically developed classes that introduce you to the Church, our Philosophy, Mission, and Beliefs. Start taking forward steps in the direction that God has called you to.

JOIN A TEAM – LIFE Church is full of vibrant and exciting teams. If your way of connecting is through hands on experiences with other people, we invite you to join a team, and build the team with your skills and knowledge. Please let us know what area you would like to be a part of and we will find a place for you.

If you want more excitement and adventure in 2013 build relationships with people around you.

LIFE21: MARRIAGE - Day 7January 12thWord Focus: Mark 14:1-26 Prayer Focus: Humility and BrokennessFasting Focus: Secular Music and Radio

Marriage is a lifestyle not an event. In marriage you have to practice loving each other. Forgiveness, Humility, and Service are the strongest cords that bind your marriage. Your marriage is in the cross hairs of the enemy, but remember, “NO weapon formed against you shall prosper”. There are practical elements to a victorious marriage- there are 5 steps to charge and align your marriage.

Return to these questions:What did God have in mind when he created us for each other? What is the purpose of this marriage?Step 1 - Pray Together Set aside time each day to pray with your spouse.

Ask God to fill you with His Holy Spirit and give you strength for the day ahead. It will bring you closer together as you care for each other every day. Think about what the day ahead holds for you, and your spouse. Loving affection goes beyond the physical realm to the emotional and spiritual realm. This develops true intimacy with each other and with God.

Note: Perhaps a better time for you as a couple might be just before you go to bed each night. It's impossible to fall asleep angry when you've just held hands together in God's presence.

Step 2 - Read Together Set aside time each day, or at least once a week, to read the Bible together.

This might be described as devotions. Purchase a couples devotional or just read the Bible to each other. Set each other up for success everyday by first establishing the presence of God in your marriage.

Men initiate fresh momentum in your marriage. It creates intimacy, establishes security, and enables victory in everyday life. Commit to rising from sleep about 30 minutes earlier in order to do this. It will be a wonderful, intimate time of strengthening your marriage.

Step 3 - Make Decisions Together Commit to making important decisions together. This is not talking about deciding on what to eat for dinner. Major decisions, like financial

ones, are best decided as a couple. One of the greatest areas of strain in a marriage is the sphere of finances. As a couple you should discuss your finances on a regular basis, even if one of you is better at handling the practical aspects; like paying the bills and balancing the check book. Keeping secrets about spending will drive a wedge between a couple faster than anything.

Life 21 Focused Fast Page: 14

Page 18: 21 Day Focused Fasting And Prayer - Clover Sitesstorage.cloversites.com/christianlifecenter2... · LIFE21 devotional we launch with Salvation. Salvation is an experience yes, but

If you agree to come to mutual decisions on how the finances are handled, this will strengthen trust between you and your spouse. Also, you won't be able to keep secrets from each other if you commit to making all important family decisions together. This is one of the best ways to develop trust as a couple.

Step 4 - Attend and Get Involved in Church Together. Get involved in church together.Find a place of worship where you and your spouse will not only attend together, but can

enjoy areas of mutual interest, such as serving in a ministry or joining a team and making Christian friends together. The Bible says in Hebrews 10:24-25, that one of the best ways we can stir up love and encourage good deeds is by remaining faithful to the Body of Christ by meeting together regularly as believers.

Step 5 - Continue Dating. Set aside special, regular times to continue developing your romance.

Once married, couples often neglect the area of romance, especially after the kids come along. Continuing a dating life may take some strategic planning on your part as a couple, but it is vital to maintaining a secure and intimate marriage. Keeping the romantic love alive will also be a bold testimony to the strength of your Christian marriage.

Let there be grace for you marriage this year. 2013 will be a year of faithfulness, strength, challenge, and LIFE! God has a plan for your marriage and designed your marriage to change the world around you.

LIFE comes from standing on the Word of God – These verses are the Biblical Standards and Gods view and expectation for our marriages.

LIFE21: FAMILY - Day 8January 13thWord Focus: Psalm 100 Prayer Focus: Praise and ThanksgivingFasting Focus: Meats, Sweets and Caffeine

God has a design and a purpose for the family. 2013 will be a year of fresh passion, vision, and restoration where it is needed in your family. Whether you’re married with no children, with children, single, a single parent or grandparents—there is a word for you and your family for 2013—for your family to be full of LIFE.

Family is not what it used to be. With technology, cultural changes, and the current economy, the frame work of family has been shifted. Whether your family is hurting or growing and vibrant God has an answer for you and your family. The answer is Calvary- the place where Jesus died on the cross for all of men’s sins. Through the cross, God restores not only the inward spirit of man but also redeems every part of a man’s life including the family. God is not just interested in restoring individuals or restoring the church. God also desires to restore the home! Jeremiah 30:3, 20:1,13, Malachi 4:4-6 Luke 1:17

Move into LIFE ! 1. Repent of sin against God and family members 2. Receive Christ as the Lord of his life and his family 3. Search the Scriptures for the truth about your God ordained role in the family 4. Practice the God ordained family role daily!

Declare:By the Grace of God my family has been established, anointed and sealed by God in Christ

and I have been given the Holy Spirit as a pledge guaranteeing my inheritance to come.2 Corinthians 1:21, Ephesians 1:13 ...has died, no longer live for ourselves, but for Christ 2 Corinthians 5:14-15 ...has been made righteous 2 Corinthians 5:21 ...has been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer we who live, but Christ who lives in us. The life we now live is the Life of Christ 2 Corinthians 2:20

LIFE21: PRAYER & INTERCESSION - Day 9January 14thWord Focus: Romans 12Prayer Focus: Revelation of God’s WillFasting Focus: Meats, Sweets and Caffeine

PRAYER “The most important lesson we can learn is how to pray. Indeed, we must pray so that our prayers take hold of God. The man who has done the most and best praying is the most immortal, because prayers do not die. Perhaps the lips that uttered them are closed in death, or the heart that felt them may have ceased to beat, but the prayers live before God, and God’s heart is set on them. Prayers outlive the lives of those who uttered them – outlive a generation, outlive an age, and outlive a world. God shapes the world by prayer. The more praying there is in the world, the better the world will be and the mightier the forces against evil will be. Prayer, in one phase of its operation, is a disinfectant and preventative. It purifies the air; it destroys the contagion of evil.” (Purpose of Prayer, E.M. Bounds)

Psalm 2:7-9 “I will proclaim the Lord's decree: He said to me, "You are my son; today I have become your father. Ask me, and I will make the nations your inheritance, the ends of the earth your possession. You will break them with a rod of iron; you will dash them to pieces like pottery."”

Why Should I Pray?Prayer Develops Our Relationship with God If we never speak to our spouse or never listen

to anything our spouse might have to say to us, our marriage relationship will quickly deteriorate. It is the same way with God. Prayer— communicating with God—helps us grow closer and more intimately connected with God. Zechariah 13:9, John 15:7

The Lord Instructed Us to Pray One of the simplest reasons to spend time in prayer is because the Lord instructed us to pray. Obedience is a natural by-product of discipleship. Matthew 26:41, Luke 18:1, Ephesians 6:18, Matthew 7:7, 1 Timothy 2:8

What If I Don't Know How to Pray? The Holy Spirit will help you in prayer when you don't know how to pray. Romans 8:26-27

“In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God's will.” (NIV)

To be successful in prayer you must establish correct posture for momentum in your prayers!

A Humble Heart 2 Chronicles 7:14 “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and

pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” (NIV)

WholeheartednessJeremiah 29:13 “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” (NIV)

FaithMark 11:24 “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have

received it, and it will be yours.” (NIV)

RighteousnessJames 5:16 “Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you

may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.” (NIV)

Obedience1 John 3:22 “And we will receive whatever we request because we obey him and do the

things that please him.” (NLT)

Being Victorious in prayer means you have to practice at praying. Not for performance reasons but for breakthrough reasons. God wants to answer your prayers, there has to be consistency and open hearts to do the will of the Father!

Expand your priority and reach further in your prayer life in 2013! God answers prayer, and prayer works!

IntercessionWe are “sent ones” – chosen to intercede while on earth. Webster defined intercession as:

“to go or pass between; to act between parties with a view to reconcile those who differ or contend; to interpose; to mediate or make intercession; mediation.”

“Intercessory prayer is an extension of the ministry of Jesus through His body, the Church, whereby we mediate between God and humanity for the purpose of reconciling the world to Him, or between Satan and humanity for the purpose of enforcing the victory of Calvary.” (Intercessory Prayer – Dutch Sheets)

John 20:21 “As the Father has sent Me, I also send you’

Enforcing the VictoryOur job is to enforce victory as we also meet the powers of darkness. Mathew 16:19 tells

through prayers of intercession, meet the powers of darkness, enforcing the victory Christ accomplished when He met them in His work of intercession. One of the purposes of Intercession is prayer with the Intensity of salvation. Intercession and Spiritual Warfare is the ability to step into a situation that’s headed the wrong way and alter hearts towards Jesus Christ.

Intercession puts responsibility on the shoulders of those who engage with spiritual warfare and intercession.

LIFE21: YOUR MINISTRY - Day 10January 15thWord Focus: Luke 4 Prayer Focus: Filled with His PowerFasting Focus: Meats, Sweets and Caffeine

The Church, as the Body of Christ is filled with many unique and varied ministries. God has something for every member of His body to contribute to the success of the whole. There are ministries that range from helps to governance with everything in between; it would be difficult to list all the ministries that exist in the church. Nowhere in the bible do we have such a list, but here and there we have partial lists and others that are alluded to in the scriptures. There are intercessors, preachers, healers, and workers of miracles. There are counselors and administrators, helpers and showers of hospitality. There are singers and musicians, spiritual mothers and fathers. The list could go on and on...

There are 10 things we must all recognize, that will help us to find and enjoy our place of function.1. Recognize that you personally have an important place of function and responsibility

before the Lord. 1 Corinthians 12:7a. Your function is to praise to Him. 1 Corinthians 12:11; 18

2. Recognize that God has made you perfectly suited to the ministry to which He has called you. Ephesians 2:10, 1 Corinthians 12:27

3. Recognize that it is God who equips you with the gifts necessary to fulfill your ministry. Romans 12:3,6, 1 Peter 4:10

4. Recognize the headship of Jesus Christ and be subject to Him in all things.Ephesians 1:21-23; 4:15; 5:23

5. Recognize that all ministries begin with service. Luke22:26-27 6. Recognize the area of service to which God is calling you. Romans12:3-5 7. Recognize that no one ministry is more important than another. 1 Corinthians 12:21,258. Recognize that all ministries develop over a period of time. Psalm75:6 9. Recognize that we will only be as successful as we are willing to sacrificially apply

ourselves. Romans12:20 10. Recognize that God is going to give you special grace and divine enablement to do His

will. Philippians 2:13

2 Plans for the fullness of LIFE1. Activate your ministry.

Ask God for a vision first, and then follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Allow Jesus to mold and stretch you into the full potential.

2. Activate the Grace. Grow your spirit and grow your ministry. Allow Jesus to expand your vision and strengthen your capacity in your own life, then your ministry!

Psalm 27:1-3 “The Lord is my light and my salvation—Whom shall I fear?” “The Lord is the stronghold of my life— of whom shall I be afraid? When the wicked advance against me to devour me, it is my enemies and my foes that will stumble and fall. Though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear; though war break out against me, even then I will be confident.”

You have a choice. You can choose to live life strong or you can choose to live life defeated. Instead of making a living strong declaration - you can make a declaration of a weak life. You Choose. How do you want to live life? Maybe life has shaken your confidence. Maybe people and circumstances have limited your vision for your life. You have given up hope and are hanging on by your fingertips. Make a choice now...

Joseph chose to live strong when under attack. Genesis 49:23-24 Caleb lived strong when the vision delayed. Joshua 14:11 Joab lived strong when surrounded by the enemy. 2 Samuel 10:12 Asa chose to live strong when completing what he started. 2 Chronicles 15:7-8 Hezekiah lived strong when his trust in God was tested. 2 Chronicles 32:7-8 Paul lived strong when limitations were placed on him. 2 Corinthians 12:10; 10:10

David sets His resolve to not lose heart in Psalm 27:13-14, “I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait on the Lord; be of good courage, and He shall strengthen you heart; Wait, I say, on the Lord”

Hear the Promise of God in Isaiah 41:10, “Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I am your God I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my victorious right hand” (New Living Translation)

No matter the condition of your body, soul or spirit God has the ability to strengthen you. These assurances are Gods way of extending love to you.

Move into LIFE in strength:Strengthen your heart by knowing your God – Study the Word of God. Know it for it gives

strength to our heart. But unless you know the author, the true power of the words is lost. Know your God. Know Him. Strengthen your heart by holding your faith in God and His word – Hebrews 4:12 Strengthen your heart by seeing beyond the immediate into the eternal –

2 Corinthians 4:16 Strengthen your heart by trusting in the goodness of God – Genesis 3:4-5 Strengthen your heart by waiting on the Lord – Psalm 27:14

“As trials of life come, your strength can be diminished. Your heart can lose its energy and its confidence in God. It can become weak and fearful. In waiting, it is renewed. In waiting our strength is exchanged for His strength. Waiting is recognized that in Him is all that you need for the Journey or the trial. It is seeing that the grace of God is available and sufficient for every need and every struggle. In waiting you do not lose heart.” (Unshakable Life – Pastor Frank Damazio)

Do not lose heart Declaration for 2013:I will resist the lies of the enemy that seek to blind my eyes to the goodness and greatness of God working in my life. My God is for me and is able to strengthen my heart at all times; I refuse to lose heart.

God wants to form His “Character” within us...Romans 8:29, “For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image

Romans 12:2, “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”

Galatians 4:19, “My dear children, for whom I am again in the pains of childbirth until Christ is formed in you.”

2 Peter 1:4, “Through these he has given us His very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.”

We find that since Jesus came, He gave man the opportunity of entering a New Covenant. This was to be a covenant of Grace. John 1:17, Romans 10:4, Romans 5:20, 2 Timothy 1:9

Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. Therefore I do not run like someone running aimlessly; I do not fight like a boxer beating the air. LIFE21: EVANGELISM (HARVEST) - Day 14January 19th

Word Focus: Matthew 5:1-14 Prayer Focus: Thanksgiving for Every BlessingFasting Focus: Meats, Sweets and Caffeine

95% of all Christians have never lead anybody to Christ. Although many would feel this to be an obligation as a believer, for the most part there is not a sense of great urgency and concern for those who would be spending Eternity without Christ.

LIFE in Evangelism is moving from out-of-balance to balance. A lot of Christians coast because they are not aligned. The truth is – Lost people matter to God (John 3:16).

We are called to seek and save the lost. It has been said that the most important words someone will ever speak are those spoken before leaving this earth. Jesus, in His final address to His disciples before His ascension, declared to all those who would follow Him the necessity taking the Good News to every creature. (Mark 16:15-20)

Move past Delusions:1. Evangelism is for the evangelist. Ephesians 4:11-12, John 15:8

a. We must lay hold of our responsibility. 2 Corinthians 6:1-2 2. Evangelism is what we do.

Three Levels of Christianitya. Knowledge-oriented evangelism building by means of subtraction Matthew 21:9 b. Doing-oriented evangelism – building by means of addition James 1:22 c. Equipping oriented evangelism: building by means of multiplication 2Timothy 2:2 - Evangelism is not what we do, it’s who we are!

3. Evangelism is an event.a. Build relationship with the unsavedMatthew 4:18 - Andrew brings brother Simon Peter John 1:44-45 - Phillip brings friend Nathaniel Acts 10 - Cornelius brings relatives and family Acts 16:27-34 - Philippian brings his household

4. Evangelism ends in conversion.a. The hardest part of evangelism is the most neglected. Evangelism does not end at the point of conversion but only begins. It is a continual process that concludes only when a person becomes an active, reproducing disciple of a local church.

LIFE in Evangelism:“To evangelize is to present Jesus Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit that men shall

come to put their trust in God through Him, to accept Him as their Savior, and serve Him as their King in the fellowship of His Church” (Anglican Archbishops Committee)

Word Focus: Psalm 51 Prayer Focus: Refining and CleansingFasting Focus: All TV, Movies and Video Games

The awesome significance of water baptism is that it symbolizes the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ and our identification with Him. The Scriptures refer to Jesus as being the last Adam (I Corinthians 15:21-22, 45). Jesus, in His sacrifice for us, represented us. When a person receives Jesus as Lord, he identifies fully with what happened to Jesus (Romans 6:4-6). Water baptism is a physical act that should indelibly mark the mind of the person being baptized with the reality of his union with Jesus Christ. Jesus said in Matthew 28:19, “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.” We as a church baptize just as Jesus commanded us to do according to the pattern.

LIFE21: HOLY SPIRIT - Day 16January 21st

Word Focus: Psalm 27 Prayer Focus: Seek His FaceFasting Focus: All TV, Movies and Video Games

The Holy Spirit is the third divine person of the eternal Godhead, co-equal, co-eternal, and co- existent with the Father and the Son. It is His ministry to convict and convert man as well as to reveal the Son and the Father to the believer. Since the glorification of the Lord Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit is working through all who believe on the Father through the Son. This is why the present era is known as the age of the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit makes us Victorious in numerous ways... 1. The new birth is brought about by the Spirit. John 3:5-6 22. The Spirit opens the believers understanding to the things of God.

1 Corinthians 2:12 3. The Spirit leads the believer. Romans 8:14 4. The Spirit produces Christ-likeness character and fruit in the believers life.

Galatians5:22-23 5. The Spirit guides the believers in their ministry. Acts 8:29; 16:6-76. The Spirit enables the believer to worship in spirit and truth.

John 4:23-24, Philippians 3:3, 1 Corinthians 14:15 7. The Spirit strengthens the believer’s inner being (soul). Ephesians 3:16

It is therefore vitally important that we be equipped with the Word so that the spirit will be quickened and released to work. The spirit is not released to save men by the preaching of any gospel, but rather THE Gospel. The same is true concerning all the truths of the Bible. If we want to see the spirit released to perform His work, we must be speaking the right word.

The Holy Spirit brings LIFE to the believer in many different aspects:

LIFE21: RENEWING THE MIND - Day 17January 22nd

Word Focus: Daniel 3 Prayer Focus: Deliverance Through TrialsFasting Focus: All TV, Movies and Video Games

The Christian life is a transformed life. The transformation of life comes about, as the apostle Paul declares, through the renewal of the mind Romans 12:2. An understanding of the Word of God renews the mind. The Word of God expresses the mind of God to us.

Our minds are to be conformed to the mind of Christ. That conformity does not automatically or instantly occur with conversion. Our conversion by the power of the Holy Spirit is not the end of our learning process but the beginning. At conversion we enroll in the school of Christ. There is no graduation this side of heaven. It is a pilgrimage of lifelong education.

Renewing of your mind begins by filling it with the Words of God! Meditate on these 3 scriptures:

2 Thessalonians 2:1–2, “Concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered to him, we ask you, brothers and sisters, not to become easily unsettled or alarmed by the teaching allegedly from us—whether by a prophecy or by word of mouth or by letter—asserting that the day of the Lord has already come.”

1 Corinthians 2:16, “for, "Who has known the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?" But we have the mind of Christ.”

2 Corinthians 10:4–5, “The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.”

Wanted: True WorshipersGod is looking for a people who want to become true worshipers. John 4:23 tells us that

God is looking for a people who want to do more than just show up for worship. Jesus said, “but the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in Spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking those such a people to worship Him.”

The first step to becoming a true worshiper is to become a victorious and vibrant worshiper Monday through Saturday.

Psalm 62:5, Psalm 37:7; 9; 34, Psalm 51:11, Psalm 61:1, and Psalm 86:12

David is a prime example to developing a biblical worship lifestyle.

David practiced the following in his worship:• Made worship a top Priority • Observed a regular routine of private worship• Regarded obedience as the highest form of worship • Worshiped amidst adversity

Why make worship a Top Priority? We are created, commanded, called, compelled, and destined to worship. Because God is

the ultimate priority, worship needs to be primary activity. 1 Peter 2:9, Isaiah 43:7,21, Psalm 22:23, Acts 24:14, Philippians 3:3, Acts 17:24-25, Revelations 4-5, 14:6-7

Worship as Regular Routine?Praising God regularly produces a mindset of worship throughout the day. A life of continual

worship is the mark of a true worshiper. Hebrews 13:15, Psalm 71:8, Psalm 113:3, Psalm 92:1-2, Psalm 119:164

Obedience: Surrender All David regarded obedience as the highest form of worship. David loved God’s word,

treasured it in his heart, and strived to obey it. Psalm 40:6-8,1 Samuel 13:14, Acts 13:22, Psalm 101:2-3, John 14:15,21

Worshiping Amidst AdversityDavid faced one difficulty after another and was on the brink of despair on a number of

occasions. Psalm 59, Psalm 51

LIFE21: CHURCH - Day 20January 25th

Word Focus: Zechariah 7 Prayer Focus: Softened HeartFasting Focus: All TV, Movies and Video Games

Ephesians 3:9-11 “.. God, who created all things through Jesus Christ: to the intent that now the manifold wisdom of God might be known by the church to the principalities and powers in heavenly places according to the eternal purpose which he accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord”

It is in The Church where all of God’s intended purposes will come to realization. The Church is God’s final instrument that He is using to bring about everything He intended. He is going to use The Church and His Work through the Church is to bring us to completion, maturity, perfection and to the last image. Ephesians 4:12-16, Colossians 3:10, Romans 8:28-30

The word “church” comes from the Greek word “ekkesia” This word in its simplest definition means “the called out ones”. Churches are not buildings or houses of worship, nor are they sects, denominations or organizations. The actual building that the people of God meet in is only the auditorium or “sheep shed”. We have to be very careful that we put the emphasis where God does. This mistake could cause us to hold the material building (sheep shed) above the spiritual building (the sheep). The church is “His” church. He is the central authority to whom all New Testament Churches must relate. The Church on earth is bigger than any one denomination, sect, or organization. By making this mistake we can make God’s church narrower than it really is and exclude ourselves from a vital participation with part of Christ’s spiritual body.

Local Church DefinedLocal Churches are New Testament organizations of groups of believers in given localities,

which are marked out by confession of faith, discipline of life, obedience in baptism, gathered to the person of Jesus Christ, having gifted ministries and keeping the memorial of the Lord. They are always spoken of as complete units within themselves which may voluntarily cooperate and fellowship with other local bodies. 1 Corinthians 15:9, 1 Timothy 3:5, 2 Corinthians 6:16, 1 Corinthians 3:16

Flourishing Churches and people:• Maintain a Spiritual diet• Maintain true Spiritual worship• Maintain garments that make them distinct • Must reserve their affections solely unto the Lord

God looks at His people as a special treasure, as a personal, private possession and as the apple of His eye. But, they will never fully live up to that distinction if they do not maintain the areas that make them “called”.

The Church will be VictoriousMany times the Church is seen as an anemic force in society. But that is not the type of

Church that Jesus said He would build. In Matthew 16:18-19 He tells us of a church that would march against the very gates of hell and be successful.

The church is on the move as the army of the Lord. This Church, not Satan, is the most powerful force in the world today. This Church is the richest man in the world. This Church is the instrument of the Kingdom of light at work destroying the works of darkness. The Church does not only have a system of defense, but it has powerful offense that God expects to be in full operation. God gave to the church the keys to the Kingdom Matthew 18:15-20 God have the church the power to Bind and lose Matthew 18:18 and god will use the church as the army of the Lord to deal the deathblow to Satan Romans 16:20, Ephesians 1:20-23. The church for too long has fled before the serpent like Moses did when in reality God has given us the power to tread upon serpents.
