5. Pay & Allowances

• During the initial training period, stipend of Rs.5700/pm will be admissible buton successful completion of initial training an amount equal to the minimum ofscale as mentioned below, less stipend already paid, shall be admissible withretrospective effect.

• On completion of initial training, they will be placed in the Pay Band Rs.5200-20200. In addition they will be paid Grade Pay @Rs.2000/- plus MSP @Rs.2000/- plus DA.

6. Promotion: Promotion prospects exist up to the rank of Master Chief PettyOfficer-I (equivalent to Subedar Major) with pay scale of Rs 9300-34800 plusGrade Pay @Rs.4800/- Plus MSP @Rs. 2000/- plus DA. SELECTION PROCEDURE

8 The application format is given at the end of this advertisement. The selection procedure is

as follows:

(a) Application will be received only through ORDINARY POST. Application received throughspeed post/ registered post or couriers will be rejected.

(b) All original certificates and mark sheets are to be produced at the time of screening.

(c) Preliminary selection, PFT and Medical Examination, may take 3-4 days.

(d) Candidates declared Medically Temporary Unfit in the intial recruitment medical couldavail specialist review from the specified Military Hospital within a maximum period of21 days. No further review/appeal is permissible if declared unfit in the specialistreview.

(e) Candidates declared Medically Permanent unfit in the intial recruitment medical canappeal for specialist opinion in a Military Hospital on payment of Rs 40 /- by MilitaryReceivable Order (MRO) on Government Treasury within 21 days. Medical fitnesscertificate other than that of the specialist opinion in a Military Hospital will notbe considered. No further review/appeal is permissible.

(f) The candidates who qualify in all respects will be short listed for Final screening dependingupon the vacancies. Candidates selected in the Final Screening will be send to INSChilka for training.

(g) The candidate’s selection pertaining to a particular batch is valid for that batch only.Qualified candidates whose names do not appear in the final select list cannot claimadmission for the next batch. These candidates will have to undergo the selectionprocedure afresh provided that they meet the eligibility criteria for the fresh batch.

SELECTION CRITERIA

Selection of recruits is based on the order of merit on their performancein Musical Screening Test, Physical Fitness Test (PFT) and fitness in theMedical Examinations.

9. Screening Test

• Eligible short listed candidates will be sent call-up letters, giving date, timeand place for preliminary screening to select suitable candidates based ontheir musical aptitude, potential and aural ability. The screening is likely to beheld from 15 Jun to 18 Jun 2009.

• Those who qualify the preliminary screening will be required to undergo amedical examination. Medically fit candidates will proceed to INS Kunjali,Colaba, Mumbai for final screening and selection on All India Basis scheduledfrom 21 to 25 Sep 2009.

• Candidates selected during final screening at INS Kunjali willundergo Final Enrolment Medicals at INHS Asvini.

• After final selection, selected candidates will be enrolled and sent to INSChilka (Orissa) for initial training.

10. Physical Fitness Test (PFT)

• Qualifying in Physical Fitness Test is mandatory for selection.
