21We are 21 and counting…

As 2019 draws to a close, there is a workplace culture shift. More and more business leaders are realising that culture drives performance and, an improved staff work experience promotes better stataff engagement and retention.

As Steve Jobs rightly says, “Great things in business are never done by one person. They are done by a team of people- talented and motivated.” People today want to work in a place which gives them a sense of purpose. It is here that core organisation values play a pivotal role and become a preamble to help build people connect.

From staff engagement initiatives to career progression programmes - right through the year we endeavour to create a conducive work environment for our people. However, with two decades behind us, it is time for us to pause, think, re-focus and plan ahead. After all, the learning of the past helps course correction and shape the future.

With millennials expected to make up 35% and Gen Z upto 24% of the global workforce, Year 2020 is expected to have more workforce transitions. We, at IPE Global, look forward to keeping pace with this change while keeping intact our core values that encourage a sense of shared purpose, inclusivity, recognition and appreciation of all staff, old or new to build a more dynamic, purpose-driven and versatile workspace.

Wish you all an Inspiring, Positive and Empowering year ahead.

Best wishesAshwajit Singh

- an age that defines creative spirit, optimism and responsibility

- an age when suddenly all the things taught, start making sense

The same holds true for us. In this journey of over 20 years,

there have been opportunities and challenges; perspiration

and inspiration that has made us a lot wiser. While we continue learning and

growing, we are more mature and experienced to value the past for a positive tomorrow.

Let the good times roll!

“Be grounded and open to conveying one’s ideas/thoughts to the management to help promote a culture of transparency and openness in the organisation…

An association that spans nearly two decades. Beginning with an internship in 2001 followed by a year-long tenure in 2002-2003 to a full-time role in 2014 after completing post-graduation, my journey @ IPE Global has been truly enriching and fulfilling.

I believe that opportunity to continuously learn and grow, use entrepreneurial skills to explore new areas, sectors etc. has been the most rewarding experience for me. Regular training programmes such as Learning & Development, technical and personal training, senior management leadership programs etc. not only support learning and growth but also enliven the work environment.

IPE Global promotes an inclusive culture. Connecting with colleagues over lunch in the cafeteria only helps make our bond stronger.

One of my biggest pride is that IPE Global is the only homegrown organisation in the development sector competing internationally. I have seen it grow leaps and bounds and, it gives me immense joy to be associated with a company that never stops exploring new possibilities and avenues.”

COMING TOGETHER IS A BEGINNING...

"The secret is to work less as individuals and more as a team. As a coach, I play not my eleven best, but my best eleven” - Knute Rokne

When brilliant minds, with big ambitions, work towards a common goal, amazing things happen. People complement each other’s strengths and weaknesses and eventually become unstoppable.

LIFE AT IPE GLOBALWe are highly driven by our core values- Integrity, Innovation, Passion, Perseverance, and Learning as we take pride in our people power. Our culture emulates the dynamism and

diversity of its people and is poised to deliver an inclusive workplace environment.

Learning & Development: An A to Alphabet

Winston Churchill said, “Personally I’m always ready to learn, although I do not always like being taught”. This is how most of us see learning and development. That’s because the approach to training hasn’t evolved since Churchill was yawning at the back of a classroom.

Shouldn’t we wake up each morning wondering what new lessons the day might bring? For that to happen, IPE Global endeavors to make this possible through a robust and a well-rounded Learning and Development programme that helps accelerate an overall learning curve within the organisation.

All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. It’s true – without a little fun in the office people become dull and uninspired – that means creativity suffers.

IPE Global aims to provide a workplace where people feel free to laugh, helps people share their ideas. It’s clear that a little fun can make all the difference when it comes to business innovation.

• Support a cause with our IPE Cares initiative. • With yoga sessions, running camps and other

fitness activities, give your body a stress bursting break at our Fitness Club.

• Tap your creativity into our Creative Club that welcomes your ideas and breaks the monotony into pieces of art.

Feeling down or disengaged at work might happen to us at times, but getting invigorated and engaged should happen essentially. Therefore, at IPE Global we believe in stepping away from day-to-day work to celebrate success, gather staff input on ways to improve our organisation, and take time to get to know more of each other. Retreats and offsite offer just the right opportunity to experience all this and go a long way in building corporate team building.

like a cha-cha.” - Robert Brault

‘I SEE YOU’ In the movie Avatar, people greet each other with “I See You,” in their Na’vi language. “To see” is a cornerstone of Na’vi philosophy. “It is to open the mind and heart to the present, and embrace their planet Pandora as if encountering it for the very first time.”

There is a lot from the ‘reel life’ that could be put into our ‘real life’. With practices such as ‘I See You’, there is an opportunity to be one’s authentic evolving self.

People want to be truly seen by others, be it in good times or bad. But it often feels less than safe as we race on the hamster wheel of productivity. We carry things about ourselves in a Teflon zippered luggage that rarely gets opened. Many hide behind computer screens and tablets. It can be a lonely place where we all spend more time at than with our own families and friends.

But does it have to be? No. What can we do? We can always help those who feel zipped. How?

I See You: — You are an artist, a gadget master, a great athlete, celebrating your victory, feeling driven, on fire with new ideas, a champ of creativity, full of energy, etc.

I See You: — You had a professional failing and feel knocked down, or one of your greatest breakthroughs, suffering a challenge, grieving on a downfall.

A mentor is often someone who is willing to see where you are now, who you are now, and where you want to be. You might have mentors, or you might be one of them. Mentoring isn’t a profession, it’s a mindset.

Maybe, leave a note on their table to show them that you see them?

Drawing power by the people; for the people. Here is how our 2+1 theory is walking miles!

1. Why do you think Nick Fury brought together the Avengers? It was certainly not a team building exercise! It’s because Nick knew if the planet faced bigger dangers, Iron Man alone could not handle everything himself. He knew that a team of superheroes will always be more effective than any superhero alone. Nick Fury understood the importance of Teamwork and Collaboration! So do we!

What happens when two children independently color separate pictures, but with a shared box of crayons? Each child is primarily concerned with drawing his own picture and is not overly concerned with the picture drawn by the other child. They call up Cooperation to the rescue! Cooperative systems help us establish our goals effectively, without interfering with others’ thus making it a successful go-to.

Have an idea, a suggestion, or a recommendation? Communicate! As George Bernard rightly said, “The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place.” Any tool that enhances communication, be it an email, a letter, a little conversation, a chat, a call, has profound effects in terms of how people can learn from each other. Make the communication happen.

“Communication is the key to know people and solve problems, hence interaction is what I love to do the most.”Sukriti Gangola, Documentation Specialist – HNWASH
