ABOUTUSOWNERSHIPJenks Beauty College is a wholly owned by Standard Beauty College of Oklahoma, LLC; anOklahoma Limited Liability Corporation. CAREEROPPORTUNITIESThebeautyindustryisavastandgrowingfield.Withsomuchopportunityincosmetology,barbering,naildesignandesthetics,thereareplentyofoptionsoutthereforyou,althoughJenksBeautyCollegedoesnotguaranteeemployment.Careerprospectsbeautyschoolgraduatesaremanyoncetheyfinishtheireducation.Intoday’ssociety,everyonewantstolookdifferentandthatiswhythefieldofcosmetologyisverymuchindemand.Graduatescaneitherworkforacompanyorbeself-employed.

Thereareanumberofemploymentopportunitiesforbeautyschoolgraduates.Theycanchooseanyofthefollowingfieldsaspertheirinterests:HairStylistSalonorSpaManagerHairColoringTechnicianEstheticianorFacialistMakeupArtistEyelashTechnicianHairLossSpecialistNailTechnicianPlatformArtistSalonorSpaOwnerBeautySupplySpecialistProductEducatorTeacherorInstructorTHEPHYSICALDEMANDSOFPRACTICINGTHEPROFESSIONGoodhealthandstaminaareimportantinthecosmetologyprofessionbecauseofthelonghoursthat are spent on your feet. Wearing supportive and comfortable shoes cannot be stressedenough. Most full-timecosmetologistswork40hoursaweekbut longerhoursarecommon inthisoccupation,especiallyamongself-employedworkers.Workschedulesmayincludeeveningsand weekends, when beauty shops and salons are busiest. Weekends and lunch periods areusuallyverybusy;thereforecosmetologistsusuallytakebreaksduringlesspopulartimes.Nearlyhalf of all cosmetologistswork part time or have a variable schedules. (Source: OccupationalOutlookHandbook)SAFETYREQUIREMENTSFORTHEPROFESSIONProlongedexposuretosomehairandnailproductscanbehazardous. Maximumprecautionaryprocedures, safe, sanitary and appropriate preparation and application of chemicals shall betaughtandobservedatall times. Safety requirementsof theprofessionare regulatedbystatelawandincludedinclassroominstructionasfollows:

1. Adequateventilation;2. Adequatelighting;3. Theuseofsafe,sanitaryandwashablematerials;4. Productuseandhandling;5. Workstationsanitationandsafety6. Sanitaryprecautionsbeforeandafterservicingeachpatron;7. Properuseofallequipment.

COMPLETION/LICENSURE/JOBPLACEMENTRATESTohelpyoumakeawell-informeddecisionaboutenteringthenewcareeryouhavechosen,wewantyoutoknowthataccordingtothelatestinformation:

66.67%ofthestudentsscheduledtograduatein2017completedtheprogram.82.14%of thegraduates in2017whotook the licensingexaminationadministeredby thestatepassedtheexamination.73.33%ofthegraduatesin2017havefoundjobsrelatedtotheirfield.

ADMISSIONREQUIREMENTSTheadmissioncriteriasetforthbelowaretheminimumstandardsestablishedbytheOklahomaStateBoardofCosmetologyandNACCAS. Thepoliciesandproceduresof JenksBeautyCollegehave been formulated and adopted to assure the student of comprehensive recognition andservices from accreditation agencies, the Department of Education, employers, and fundingagencies. The School reserves the right to evaluate High School diploma(s) presented by thestudent. Theschoolmay,atanytime,requestacopyofahighschooltranscripttovalidatetheHighSchooldiploma.Allstudentsarerequiredtohaveaninterviewwithadmissions.Anapplicationforadmissionmustbecompletedandacceptedpriortostartingclass.Theschoolrequiresofstudents:

(1)Highschoolgraduationdocumentation,or(2)Highschoolgraduationequivalencycertificate.(3)Haveevidenceofcompletionofhomeschooling.(4)Inthecaseofaforeigndiploma,verificationbyanoutsideagencythatisqualifiedtotranslate the document into English and confirm the academic equivalence to a highschooldiploma.(5) Verification of documentation for financial aid students (refer to VerificationDocumentationlist)

AdditionalDocumentationforInstructorCourse:(1) Must have successfully completed and passed the Oklahoma State Board of

CosmetologyBasicExamandbefullylicensedincosmetology.ALLSTUDENTSMUSTATTENDORIENTATIONCLASSPRIORTOSTARTINGCOURSE.

ABILITY-TO-BENEFITPOLICYJenksBeautyCollegedoesnotacceptATB(AbilitytoBenefit)students.Enrolleesarerequiredtohavenolessthanahighschooldiploma,oraG.E.D.TRANSFERPOLICY

TheSchooldoesnotrecruitstudentsalreadyattendingoradmittedtoanotherschoolofferingasimilarprogramofstudy.ReferenceOklahomaStateBoardRules&Regulations:Astudentwillnotbeallowedtotransferfromonecosmetologyschooltoanotherforaperiodofatleastthirty(30)daysfromthedateofwithdrawal or other termination unless a notarized release agreement signed by official oftransferringschool is receivedby theStateBoard. Astudentmay transferout-of-statestudenthours provided the student submits the necessary proof of training to the State Board forevaluation. TheSchoolwillevaluateprevious trainingoreducationas longasapprovedby theStateBoard.REENTRYSTUDENTS/INTERRUPTIONSAdeterminationofSatisfactoryProgresswillbemadeanddocumentedatthetimeofwithdrawalor beginning of a Leave of Absence. That determination of Satisfactory Progresswill apply tostudents at the time they return to school. The student may appeal a negative satisfactoryprogressdeterminationaccordingtotheappealpolicy. ElapsedtimeduringaLeaveofAbsencedoesnotaffectSatisfactoryProgressandwillextendthecontractperiodbythesamenumberofdaysintheLeave.WITHDRAWALPOLICYStudents wishing to terminate their enrollment must submit a written statement to theadmissionsofficedesignatingtheirdateofwithdrawal.Ifastudentmissesthirty(30)consecutivedayswithoutnotice to the schoolof their intenthe/shewill beautomatically terminated. TheAdmissionofficewill forwarda terminationnoticebyUSmailoremail to the studentnotifyingthemoftheirtermination.

ATTENDANCECLASSATTENDANCEStudentsareexpectedtoattendallclassesaccordingtotheirassignedschedule.Classattendanceistheresponsibilityofthestudent.Itisalsotheresponsibilityofthestudenttoconsultwiththeinstructorwhenanabsenceisanticipated.ABSENCEPOLICY

Inthecaseofanunplannedabsence(inthecaseofillness)thestudentmustnotifytheinstructorpriortothestartofclassthathe/sheisillandwillnotbeinclassthatday.Allowableabsencesbyprogramwithoutadditionalchargesare:60hoursper1500hourcourse,30hoursper600hourcourse and 40 hours for the 1000 hour instructor course. There are no excused absences.Students exceeding the amount of absence hours allowed for their course have the option tomakeuphoursbyattendingoutsideoftheirscheduledhours.Makeuptimesmustbeapprovedbythe instructor. Students receiving benefits from government agenciesmust adhere to policiesstipulatedbythespecificagency. Studentsmissing14consecutivedayswill receivea letterofintentfromtheschoolthattheschoolwillterminatetheirenrollmentafter30consecutivedays.After30consecutivecalendardaysthestudentwillbedroppedfromtheprogram.TARDINESSPOLICYStudentsmustarriveforclassesontime. Anystudentnotpresentatthestartofthescheduledclass will be considered tardy. A student not present at the start of theory class will not bepermittedtoattendtheoryunlessthestudenthasmadepriorarrangements.LEAVEOFABSENCEPOLICYALeaveofAbsence(LOA)isatemporaryinterruptioninastudent’sprogramofstudy.SomeexamplesofapprovedreasonsforaLOAincludebutarenotlimitedto:

• Childbirth • Unexpectedmajorillnessofstudentorimmediatefamilymember • Accidentthatrequiresarecoveryperiod • OrothercircumstancesthatamanaginginstructordeemsdeservingofaLOA.

LOA’sarenotgrantedforvacationsorbecausethestudentfeelsliketheywanttotakeabreak.InorderforaLOAtoqualifyasanapprovedleaveofabsencethestudentmustfollowtheinstitution’spolicyinrequestingtheLOA.Thepolicyisasfollows:

• ThestudentmustrequesttheLOAinadvance,inpersonorinwriting. • TheLOAmustincludethereasonfortheLOA. • TheLOAformmustbesignedanddatedbythestudentandinstructor. • TheremustbeareasonableexpectationthatthestudentwillreturnfromtheLOA. • AreturndatemustbelistedontheLOAform. • IfunforeseencircumstancespreventthestudentfromrequestingtheLOAinadvance,in

personandinwritingtheschoolmaygrantthestudentaleaveofabsenceafterthefactattheinstructor’sdiscretion.ThebeginningdateoftheapprovedLOAwouldbethefirstdatethestudentwasunabletoattendtheschoolduetounforeseencircumstances.Forexample,ifthestudentwereinjuredinacaraccidentandneededafewweekstorecoverbeforereturningtotheschool,thestudentwouldnothavebeenabletorequesttheLOAinadvance.

• AstudentgrantedaLOAthatmeetstheabovecriteriaisnotconsideredtohavewithdrawn,andnorefundcalculationisdueatthistime.

• TheLOAtogetherwithanyadditionalleavesofabsencemustnotexceedatotalof180daysinany12-monthperiod.

• ThegraceperiodforTitleIVrecipientsfailingtoreturnfromaLOAwillbethestudentslastdateofattendance.

• AstudentcannotearnTitleIVfundsduringaLOA.TheschoolmaydisburseearnedPellgrantfundsandfundsthatarepartofaTitleIVcreditbalancetoastudentonaLOA.

• TheschoolmayNOTmakeadisbursementoftheproceedsofaDirectLoantoastudentonanLOA.

• TherewillbenoadditionalchargesforaLeaveofAbsence. • Theschoolwillextendthestudent’scontractperiodbythesamenumberofdaystakenin

theLOA.TheLOAformwillserveasanaddendumtotheenrollmentagreement.TheLOAformwillshowthestudent’snewcontractenddate.IfthestudentfailstoreturnonthedateindicatedontheLOAformorcontactthemanaginginstructortorequestanextension,thestudentwillbedroppedandthewithdrawaldatewillbethestudent’slastdateofattendance.

• ExceptionstothispolicyduetoextenuatingcircumstancesmaybeapprovedbytheSchoolDirector.

DETERMINATIONOFPROGRESSSTATUSStudentsmeeting theminimum requirements for academics and attendance at the evaluationpoint are considered to be making satisfactory academic progress until the next scheduledevaluation. Students will receive a hard copy of their Satisfactory Academic ProgressDetermination at the time of each of the evaluations. Students may re-establish satisfactory academic progress and Title IV aid, as applicable, bymeeting minimum attendance and academic requirements by the end of the warning orprobationaryperiod.INTERRUPTIONS,COURSEINCOMPLETES,WITHDRAWALSIfenrollmentistemporarilyinterruptedforaLeaveofAbsence,thestudentwillreturntoschoolin the sameprogress status as prior to the leaveof absence. Hours elapsedduring a leaveofabsencewillextendthestudent’scontractperiodandmaximumtimeframebythesamenumberof days taken in the leave of absence and will not be included in the student’s cumulativeattendancepercentagecalculation.Studentswhowithdrawpriortocompletionofthecourseandwishtore-enrollwill return in thesamesatisfactoryacademicprogressstatusasat thetimeofwithdrawal.APPEALPROCEDUREIf a student is determined to not be making satisfactory academic progress, the student mayappeal the determinationwithin ten calendar days. Reasons forwhich studentsmay appeal anegativeprogressdeterminationincludedeathofarelative,aninjuryorillnessofthestudent,orany other allowable special or mitigating circumstances. The student must submit a writtenappeal to the school on the designated form describing why they failed to meet satisfactoryacademic progress standards, along with supporting documentation of the reasons why thedeterminationshouldbereversed.Thisinformationshouldincludewhathaschangedaboutthestudent’s situation thatwill allow them to achieve Satisfactory Academic Progress by the nextevaluationpoint. Appealdocumentswillberetained inthestudentfile. If thestudentprevailsupon appeal, the satisfactory academic progress determination will be reversed and federalfinancialaidwillbereinstated,ifapplicable.NONCREDIT,REMEDIAL,COURSES,REPETITIONSNoncredit, remedial courses, and repetitions do not apply to this institution. Therefore, theseitemshavenoeffectupontheschool’ssatisfactoryacademicprogressstandards.TRANSFERHOURSWithregardtoSatisfactoryAcademicProgress,astudent’stransferhourswillbecountedasbothattemptedandearnedhoursforthepurposeofdeterminingwhentheallowablemaximumtimeframehasbeenexhausted.
