I hope that you have all had a lovely break and are ready to move into what is usually the busiest term of the year. Be assured that even though we are busy with a range of activities during this term the students will continue on with their academic programs and be actively involved in learning until the end of the year. Our Year 6 students are now into their final term of primary school which is very exciting for them and preparations are already underway to ensure that their farewell will be a very special event. After seven years at primary school there is much to celebrate. In addition to the farewells, there will also be time spent welcoming new students to the school, as the 2019 Kindergarten students participate in our transition to school program. KINDERGARTEN TRANSITION PROGRAM Our Kindergarten Transition Program for 2019 Kindergarten students will be held on Monday 22 and 29 October, from 9:30-10:30am. If you have not yet submitted an enrolment form for a child entering kindergarten next year please send it to the school office this week, in order for us to in- clude all students in this exciting program. The program is designed to help the children feel re- laxed and comfortable about starting at school by introducing them to the teachers and to their new friends in and enjoyable and informal manner. SCHOOL DISCO On Friday, 26th October (afternoon/evening), the Warrawee Band Committee will be hosting two fundraising discos. The first will be for K-2 students and the second for Years 3-6 in the school hall. This is always a popular event and all funds raised go to support the school band program. I would like to thank the band committee parents for organising and supervising these P&C events. Please note that teachers will not be in attendance on this occasion. LEAVING WARRAWEE PS? Just a reminder that if your child or children will be leaving Warrawee at the end of the year it would be appreciated if you would notify the school as soon as possible as this assists us greatly when planning for next year. K-6 DANCE CONCERT Thank you to everyone that joined us for the K-6 Dance Concert at the end of last term. I’m sure that you will agree that it was a great night and that the children performed their dances with excite- ment and enthusiasm. Thank you to the many parents that helped us with the packing up process following the Year 3-6 concert. With your assistance we were finished in no time! P&C President Report Hi Everyone

Welcome back to school and Term 4. I hope everyone had a great break.

ANNOUNCING OUR NEW COMMUNITY PARTNER! We are pleased to announce that we have a new community partner – the Mark Moran Group – as part of our Community Partnership Program. We now have two community partners that provide a cash donation to the P&C for our school. Our oth-er community partner, Century 21 Radar Properties also has an exclusive Warrawee Public School parents and carers offer (see page 8). We would like to thank them both for their support of our school.

UPCOMING EVENTS – PARENTS NIGHT IN AND BAND DIS-CO This term we have our two major social and fundraising events - the school students disco hosted by the P&C band community on Friday 26 October and the PNI (Parents Night In) hosted by the P&C on Saturday 3 November. The theme of the PNI is “A touch of red” and will include a silent art auction of stu-dent’s artwork along with trivia on the night. Please see the in-vites for these events in this Warraweekly, the signs up around school and emails from your class parent for more information. We hope you are able to come along – they are both fun events not to be missed. Grab your tickets now!

P&C VOLUNTARY CONTRIBUTION Thank you to all the families that have already made a voluntary P&C contribution. We really appreciate it – every little bit counts. For those who would like to contribute please log in to your child’s Flexischools account at www.flexischools.com.au or you can now download the new Flexischools App.

PARENT AND CARER SURVEY – TELL US WHAT YOU THINK We are extending the P&C survey until this Friday 19 October. We would love to hear your thoughts on allocating P&C funds and any of your fresh ideas. It should only take you a couple of minutes to complete. Please click on this link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/C3XB6FN

TRAFFIC, PARKING AND SAFETY It was great to see parents come along to the the information session about the Pacific Highway Upgrades between Tur-ramurra and Wahroonga at the end of last term. Representa-tives from the RMS Urban Roads Pinch Point Program came along to answer questions about the project. The P&C made a submission to the RMS as part of the community consultation period, highlighting our comments about the proposal.

You may have noticed the new “children crossing” signs on the Finlay Road pedestrian crossing yesterday. This is now a “wombat crossing” – a more visual crossing with increased stop-ping and no parking distances for improved child safety. We are pleased to announce that the Blytheswood Avenue pedestrian crossing will also be upgraded to a wombat crossing.

You will hopefully have seen our red “Kiss and Ride” flags out each day. If you have a spare morning or afternoon that you could help us with putting the flags out or bringing them in, please email me at the address below. Any help you can offer would be great!

SCHOOL DANCE CONCERT – LUCKY DOOR PRIZE WIN-NERS The school dance concert at the end of Term 3 was a great night as always. Congratulations to the five families that won our P&C luckily door prizes on the night – gift vouchers to use in the P&C Tuckshop or Uniform Shop.
