WVRecycles.org 2018 Recycled Fashion Show Participants 1st Place 14 and Over (left) $150 - “Finishing Touch” by Gwyn Napier, this dress was made from numerous reclaimed 5K-race numbers sown together and enhanced with buttons she made using golf shoe cleats. 2nd Place 14 and Over (right) $100 - “Music To My Ears” is a steampunk inspired designed by Meile Morris made from numerous materials including old sheet music and clock gears. 3 rd Place - 14 and Over (right) $ 50 – “Funny Papers” was designed by Lakyn McDonald, Savanna Smith, Chloe Britton, Kailin Mahaney – Model Chloe Britton. The dress was made from newspapers recycled crayons, ribbon and her shoes were also repurposed.

2018 Recycled Fashion Show Participants

1st Place 14 and Over (left)

“Wait For It” from

Kaitlynne Seminsky

used Dasani Labels, chip

bags, fishing line,

Walmart bags, storage

bags, old t-shirts and a

prom gown. Dasani

bottles are also

considered a Coke

brand product.

Bag” by Chloie June

Neal was made from a

rice sack, old ribbons

and flowers.

2nd Place - 13 & under

(right) - $100 “Victorian

Picnic” is Crystal

Saphire’s dress made

from wallpaper, plastic

spoons, coffee filters,

political signs and an

old table cloth.

$50 “Tooth Fairy” by Danielle Amos

who used candy wrappers, old plastic

bags, an old homecoming dress,

headband in her design which also

included an old paintbrush and

cereal boxes.

Town Center Challenge Winner

(right)- $50 “J.C. Penney” by Sarah

Hopkins was made with salon tape,

perm rods, an old shampoo cape,

tissue paper and shopping bags.

Newspaper Category Winner (left)

- $100 “Daily Gazette” by Bejay

Bryant designed the dress, cape,

mini dress, belt, shoes and earrings

entirely out of newspaper.
