Page 5: 2018 - 19 Men’s Basketball · Richard Mahone opens his 15th season as the Head Men’s Bas- ketball Coach at Chattahoochee Valley Community College. Mahone graduated from Carver

The CVCC Pirates Men’s Basketball Team begins the season with a squad that has tremendous potential.

Led by Sophomore Donnie Williams in the back court, the team is enhanced by a decorated group of new-comers ready to take on the season with a passion to win! Last season was the first time in Coach Mahone’s tenure that the team did not make the playoffs, so the Pirates have their sights set on surpassing last year’s season with a vengeance.

“We are excited about this year’s team,” said Mahone. “Our new players are very talented and very skilled. As a team, we must accomplish the Six C’s of basket-ball: Compete, Composure, Consistency, Concentra-tion, Communication and Complementing.” The Pirates must play tough defense, minimize turn-overs, and get a better shot selection. They look for-ward to working hard to accomplish these goals and SUCCEED above and beyond!
