The National Business Review Media Kit 2017

Our purposeWe began because a group of committed journalists saw the need for private enterprise to have an independent voice.

We were created so businesses could make informed decisions after they had read the information they needed. We were created to be a beneficial tool to those doing business in New Zealand. We were created to be independent and to explain our expert analysis with integrity.

We were created to smarten business up, not dumb it down. And when we sit back and reflect on our 45 years of existence, we see that we have built a network of people committed to Intelligent Business: NBR, our readers and our advertisers.

Over 2,350 editions, we have battled for these qualities and now, when we reflect on who we are, we find we can boldly name ourselves “The Meeting Place of Intelligent Business.”

This is the place where our Member Subscribers, our advertisers and our journalists and expert commentators meet.

We are the one place in New Zealand’s media landscape where leaders of industry and innovative thinkers gather to discuss news, analysis and pick trends.

Our roleOur job is to provide expert content that is written with intelligence and integrity independently for the use of New Zealand’s business leaders and to champion as well as support “The Intelligent Business Network.”

NBR is NZ’s best business tool by a country mile. NBR very much has its finger right on the pulse of business, political, legal, economic and all associated issues as they happen. Not having access to this sort of intelligence puts one very much at a commercial disadvantage as business strategy is implemented and decisions are executed MARCUS BEVERIDGE PRINCIPAL QUEEN STREET CITY LAW

Our advertisers When you advertise with the National Business Review you are not only aligning yourself with integrity, you are also supporting intelligent business. You are saying you appreciate top quality: the high-quality content, the high-quality subscribers and therefore the top quality of the very thing you have to offer.

When you advertise with NBR, you are not merely putting your brand before New Zealand’s leaders and influencers, you are saying – “We understand NBR: we are part of and we support Intelligent Business.”

Our Member SubscribersWe are proud that you subscribe to NBR, that you can use what we provide for your business and that our advertisers want to talk to you.

The way we look at it is, if you subscribe to NBR ONLINE or NBR Print, you are part of and support the Intelligent Business Network.

Our key messages NBR is a network of intelligent business in New Zealand. Our subscribers aren’t just readers, they are users. They may not even read every issue but, when they do, they find content that is invaluable for their business needs.

Accurate, balanced and well researched articles, particularly on controversial issues both business and political are often hard to find in other print media

RAY SCHOFIELDCHIEF EXECUTIVE BUSINESS MENTORS NZ

Our advertisers support intelligent business whist getting in front of the right people.

Our advertisers place a high value on quality versus quantity of readership.

Our Member Subscribers are intelligent and ambitious and have a higher level of engagement with us than they do with our mainstream media rivals. They don’t just read the NBR – they USE it.

When NBR first set up 45 years ago, there was nowhere business could go to read about business issues.

NBR’s arrival as a business news champion meant businesses of all kinds had found a home where they could talk through business issues, raise new ideas – and link up with each other.

We provided tools business people could use. That became an intelligent business network and we’re proud of it.

Whenever you open a copy of the National Business Review or any of our industry newsletters or click on NBR ONLINE, you’re re-entering the Intelligent Business Network.
