Dear Governor Semple Families,
Many people think we begin to “wind down” in June, but this
time of year is actually a very busy one at school! With warmer
weather, the opportunities for outdoor activity, field trips and
special events are endless.
Staffing and class configurations for 2017-18 are not fully
determined at this point, however we hope to send information
soon. Report cards will be available via Parent Connect on June 28th
for your viewing. Go to www.7oaks.org/school/governorsemple/,
Parents tab (at the top right), Parent Connect and then enter your
email address and password. You can also review attendance and
ensure your contact information is up-to-date.
If you have any questions about school events, please do not
hesitate to call us at 204-339-7112. Happy June!
Karen Hiscott, Principal

EAL SUMMER CAMP
The hardest part of any school year, in the library, is when the students stop checking out
books, and my job shifts from a 'Library Technician' to a 'Book Bounty Hunter'.
As of Wednesday, June 14th, I will be asking for all Governor Semple School library
books to be returned. I will be writing many notes to parents and guardians asking to
look around their abodes for our missing pieces of literature.
If a book is lost there are a couple options:
1) Pay for the book, as the notes will have the books original price on them
2) Replace the book with another of equal value
3) Replace the book with the exact one that was lost
If you have any concerns please feel free to email me; [email protected]
I’d be happy to answer any questions.
Happy Book Hunting!
The Balanced Experiential Education Program (B.E.E.P) is a FREE summer program
for students in Grades 1-5 at Governor Semple & Victory Schools. The program is run by
certified teachers and provides hands-on learning activities, sports, art, music and
cooperative games. The program is FREE and loads of fun and we hope that your child can
attend! Our summer program runs from Wednesday, July 5th to Friday, August 11th (Monday
to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.) B.E.E.P. registration forms have been sent home.

"We have two garden beds that would love to be filled with
perennials. If you have any in your garden that could bring
to school (hostas, ferns, lilies, etc.) please let us know!
Spring is a great time to move them, so the sooner, the
better!"
