¢ Welcome. As you can see, here at the Food Bank+ we have a new logo! That ‘Plus’ sign is really important: although 50% of our clients still only need one parcel to get out of their crisis, there are many others who are on a long journey… So, we have come up with many more ways that we can ‘walk alongside’ them and help them stand on their own two feet, through building relationships and giving hope as well as practical help.We hope you like reading the stories of all that has happened this year, and our plans for the future. But first of all, we want to say THANK YOU. Whether you donate funds, give finances, volunteer, invite us to speak at your groups, pray and promote the Food Bank+, none of this could happen without you.You have helped “speak hope” into more than 10,400 lives since opening.

Yours in Christ,Peter Kegg Tracy BlickChair Manager

“We met William for the first time at the Food Bank+, he came in with a voucher for food, the address section was filled

in with NFA (No Fixed Abode), he was a ‘sofa surfer’, a young man jumping from couch to couch each night. Our volunteers sat with him, made him a coffee and listened to his story. He was offered underwear, socks, spare clothes, and given some contact details of

other organisations that may be able to help him.

Not long after we were contacted by Sovereign

Housing with a referral for the ‘Furniture Bank’, It was for William, we assessed him and provided him with a Home equip pack (Bedding, towels, plates, cups, cutlery, saucepans, utensils, kettle, toaster, loo brush, cleaning products ect), a fridge and essential furniture (Bed, sofa, table, chairs, wardrobe, rugs etc) to get him started on the next steps of his journey, we also gave him a food cupboard store pack. He finally had an address he could call home and signed up to our ‘beginners cooking on a budget workshop’. A couple of days later, he called to say he had a job interview, he was excited but apprehensive…“could we help?” “We can lend you a suit, shirt and shiny shoes! but the rest is down to you”. On returning the suit, William was pleased to say he got the job. A hand shake and a hug later he was gone, off on the next step of HIS journey.

It’s through working together and thanks to the donations of food, clothes, a suit and shoes, furniture and financial support that we

could help change William’s life and give him hope for his future..”

I never thought things would ever get better, wow how wrong

was I. Within a week my family had a new safe home filled with Furniture and food. Thank you so much

My little boy will be so shocked when he comes home from school. He left sleeping on the floor and came home to a bed, toys and even a TV. Means more than you will ever know.

Thank you for making me so welcome at the food bank and not judging me

My view on those who use the food bank has changed, never thought I would be here, but so glad the food bank is there for us.

What! OMGoodness, all this is for us!We were at the end, didn’t know where to turn, this is amazing, thank you for all you do.

Your Volunteers were so helpful and lovely.

Didn’t even know I could cook! Your cookery workshop has made me shop and look at food differently, much cheaper shopping bill, much better meals.

Cheers
