EYP Earth Day Celebration
“We celebrate Earth Day each year to remind ourselves of the natural resources that our planet generously
offers us aplenty. But with such a precious gift also comes an enormous responsibility to use them
judiciously, conserve them and to hand them to our future generations.
‘Earth is our home and we promise to protect it.’ Bearing this slogan in mind EYP celebrated Earth day on
23rd April by pledging to protect it. We did various Earth Day activities and it was a great time for all of us
to express our love towards our Mother Earth! Earth Day activities and crafts encouraged our kids to
become eco-conscious citizens and helped our students learn to reduce, reuse, and recycle. It inspired our
kids to appreciate and take care of the planet we live on and appreciate our bountiful nature!!

RBKIA is dedicated to bringing a fresh perspective to learning and teaching process. In keeping with this tradition, a session was conducted on 12 April, 2018 for the Grade 3, 4 and 5 English Mother Tongue Club. We had with us Ms Yogita Kapoor as a guest speaker. Ms Yogita shared her delightful experience of being in England for 11years. She spoke about the significance of English language there, where people emphasized more on being polite and approachable in terms of behavior. Gestures and salutations are given utmost importance. Ms Yogita also touched upon the idea of English subject in schools in England where reading is encouraged at a very tender age, and writing is considered to be very particular and precise. The students were inquisitive throughout the session and asked various questions. The whole session was interactive and students have shown great enthusiasm for the session from the beginning.
Overall it was a wonderful learning experience for the students and Teachers !

IBDP Graduation Day
On the 13th of April it was time to bid goodbye to the batch of 2018 with their graduation ceremony. The event was organized by the students of DP-1 and it took place in the school’s auditorium. We had the entire secondary school attended the event. The event opened with the welcoming of the Parents of the DP 2 students who were both proud, and anxious to see their children graduate from the IB Diploma. Then the graduating class of 2018 filed into the auditorium, resplendent in their flowing dark gowns with purple borders and highlights. Soon after everyone was settled Mr. Duke Getonto took to the stage and started the ceremony with an introduction of all the students and then he briefed everyone about the challenges they had faced throughout the 2-year course. Shortly after that Mr. Kaisar Dopaishi, Director of the RBKEI, came up on stage and shared a few words of motivation, and advice for the graduating class. Then we had the DP-1 students perform a medley of three songs which highlighted the life of an IB student from the beginning to the end. The songs were: ‘A brick in the wall’ - by Green Day which portrayed the excitement with which the students enter the IB, the second song ‘One call away’ - by Charlie Puth gave an insight of what the IB students go through during the course with the submission, the EE’s, IAs and TOK. The last song was ‘Good Riddance’ - by Green Day which showed that despite the difficulties the students made countless memories and friends. The event then proceeded with Ms. Shuchi Shukla, the IBDP Coordinator, talking about the students and their academic progress and success in the diploma programme. This was followed by a performance by our Grade 9 student Janhavi who performed the song ‘Wind beneath my Wings’, which was a tribute to the ever-supportive parents who had helped their children throughout the IB course. After the performance we had a little visual presentation with emotional messages from the class of 2018 thanking their parents for their support. As the students were awarded their certificates, their achievements, and contributions were highlighted by Ms. Shuchi Shukla. Tanay Patel was awarded the Valedictorian award. Pranay Patil was awarded the IB model student of the year. The event was then wrapped up with a speech by Tanay Patel who shared his experiences in IB and Mr. Duke Getonto sharing his experiences with his students. Mr. Vasudev Rao Mosalakanti spoke on behalf of the parents, sharing his personal experience, and underscoring the importance of focusing on one’s dreams and never giving up. It was a fitting tribute to the very energetic, and cheerful class of 2018!

IBDP Prom: Class of 2018
On the 13th of April, the students of DP 1 organised a prom party to say our final goodbyes to the DP 2
students. At the start of high school we all look forward to our senior year in order to be able to
participate in all the exciting once in a lifetime activities. One of those anticipating activities is prom.
Prom night was one of the best nights of my life and I wish I could relive it again. I had the chance to go
out with all my friends who I’ve basically spend most of my life with and have fun. It’s nice to see
everyone all dressed up and looking nice because I am used to just seeing everyone with school uniforms
at school. At prom I had a chance to enjoy the delicious dinner. I also enjoyed the photo booth with all my
friends and dancing with them as well. A good idea is to take pictures with your friends so later in the
future you could look at them and maybe even show your future kids, so they can see how you looked at
prom.It is a day in our lives that we never forget, a day full of hopes and dreams.
