The winners, who were randomly drawn from a pool of ratepayers who paid their 2017-18 rates in full by 13 September, each had the opportunity to choose a mystery prize package ranging in value from $1,050 to $5,000 from the total prize of $19,000. Winning the $5,000 Bendigo Bank major prize – which included a $2,500 overseas holiday, $1,500 spending money, and a $1,000 Bendigo Bank cash account – was Henrietta Kretschmer from Lancelin. Attending the event on her behalf was her daughter Jenna Knox who made the lucky pick. Congratulations go to the remaining winners: Avon Waste Prize Package – Mark Campbell Neo Infrastructure Prize Package – Nick Lustini from Technicdraw Pty Ltd Anspach Ag Prize Package – Douglas Bird CU@Park Prize Package – Virginia Burke IGA Express Gingin Prize Package - Donald and Lyndall Newman Lancelin Sands Prize Package – Kristy Castledine Robbro WA Prize Package – Kay Cypher GR Thompson Truck Hire Prize Package – Simon Troon Image Resources Prize Package – Gail Anderson In addition to the winners, the event was well attended by numerous Early Rates Incentive sponsors and their partners, plus Shire Councillors and staff. “I would like congratulate all our winners and thank them sincerely for paying their rates early,” said Shire President Sam Collard. “I’d also like to thank all our sponsors who contributed wonderful prizes – this scheme would not be possible without their generous support. Special thanks must go to CU@Park manager Renae Stokes for hosting the event and local florist Sylvia Kelly for supplying all the flowers. Shire Hosts Early Rates Incentive Prize Night Ten lucky winners of the Shire of Gingin’s Early Rates Incentive Scheme Competition received their prize packages at a celebratory event at CU@Park Restaurant in Gingin last week.
