Dr James Humberstone - Keynote

Technology in Music Education

Technology has been developing at an

unprecedented rate in recent years, and now pervades

most aspects of music making. The teaching and learning

of music may be enhanced by an understanding of the role

of technology in composition, performance and listening.

The opportunities offered to the musician and music

educator by new technologies suggest that skills are

essential in these key technologies in the 21st century.

James will inspire and enlighten you as he explains his

approach to equipping pre-service music teachers with the

skills necessary to effectively teach music in the modern

classroom ... and arm you with a host of ideas that you can

immediately apply in your own music teaching.
