• WEEKLY REHEARSALS: Skate School practices are February 27, March 5, 12. Since there are

only 3 practices it is imperative that every rehearsal be attended! You may be removed from a number if you miss more than one rehearsal. The rehearsals run on a tight schedule – don’t be late. If you are unable to make a rehearsal please contact Rene at BloomingtonSkateSchool@yahoo.com as soon as possible.

• SHOW DRESS REHEARSAL: Arrive on Thursday, March 17 by 4:45pm if you’ve signed up for

the pizza party and be ready to skate at 6:00 pm in full costume, makeup, skates & guards. If you are not participating in the pizza party, arrive fully prepared by 5:30 pm. Go to Rink 1 to sit with your group in the bleachers. We will begin w ith the Finale and will run through it 1-2 times. We will then start at the beginning of the show with the National Anthem and run through each number once. There is no intermission. Each group will perform their number once unless otherwise instructed. You may leave the arena after your group has performed, unless otherwise directed.

• SHOW PERFORMANCES: Please arrive by 6:30 pm Friday & Saturday, 1:30 PM Saturday in full

costume, makeup, skates & guards. Go to your assigned group area and stay there until your group parent tells you when to get ready to perform. We begin the show with the national anthem and run through the entire program, with intermission. The Finale is the last number that includes ALL show skaters.

1. CLOTHING & MAKEUP: Bring something to wear over your costume to keep you warm and

protect your costume. Girls should have 2 pairs of tights: nude or tan, sheer to waist. You can find these at General Sports @ Braemar Arena in Edina, Step & Stretch in Burnsville, and Pierce Skate & Ski in Bloomington. Skaters should wear tasteful makeup so as not to be washed out under the spotlights!!!

2. SKATES & EQUIPMENT: You must have skate guards w ith the skater’s name clearly

w ritten on them. Skates should be clean and blades sharpened. Buy a new pair of laces and polish the skates.

Dress Rehearsal Pizza Party

A dress rehearsal pizza party is being planned for all show participants and their families on Thursday, March 17th starting at 5:00 pm. It will be in rink 3’s lobby area. Try to arrive by 4:45 pm. There will be a sign-up sheet that will be posted in the skaters’ room. Besides a nominal fee for pizza, you are also asked to bring the following: Skate School Participants: Dessert to share (2 dozen) Club & Jr. Club Participants: Salad w ith a serving spoon to share (8-10 servings)

***Beverages w ill be provided***

We will start dress rehearsal promptly at 6:00 pm starting with the finale that includes ALL show participants. PLEASE be ready with makeup, costume, skates & guards and be seated with your group no later than 5:40 pm. Don’t forget to pick up serving dishes before you leave for the night. Make sure to label any serving pieces with your name!

Costume Information & Distribution Schedule

All costumes will be distributed on February 16 @ 6:00-7:30pm, February 18 @ 4:00-7:00pm, February 20 @ 9:30am-12 noon, February 27 @ 10:00am-1:00pm. • There may be specific instructions on assembly with your costume.

Please make sure that these are completed prior to picture day. If you have any questions regarding assembly, please contact your instructor. They will also have suggestions or requirements for hair styles for pictures and show performances.

• Please label all parts of your costume with the skater’s name prior to

picture day. • We ask that you have your skater try on the costume immediately to see

if there are any major adjustments that need to be done prior to picture day. However, most adjustments can be made temporarily for picture day and then you can have any other major adjustments done at your convenience prior to the show.

• Female skaters should have 2 pairs of tights that are nude or tan, sheer

to waist, no lines on the thighs. General Sports @ Braemar Arena in Edina, and Pierce Skate & Ski in Bloomington, as well as Step N Stretch in Burnsville carry tights. PLEASE DO NOT WEAR UNDERWEAR IF IT SHOWS UNDER YOUR COSTUME!

• The Opening Number/Club photo skaters are to wear bright colored

skating clothing or competition outfits for the photo. • The Second-Half Opening number skaters will be informed about their

costume by the coach of the number.

Picture Information Here’s a great way to remember your special skater’s performance in this year’s show. All skaters participating in our show will have their pictures taken. All participants must attend the photo shoot on Monday, February 29th. Pictures will be taken in rink 3 lobby at B.I.G.

Picture Day Instructions:

• Make sure to bring your skates, all your costume(s) and guards!

• Please arrive 30 minutes early with skates, costume, and makeup on. We are on a tight schedule and will take photos without you if it is past the scheduled time! Your skater will be photographed with their group. Individual and, or buddy pictures will be taken after the group photo.

• Please make sure that your skates are polished and have clean laces. Soft Scrub or rubbing alcohol will remove black marks on skates. You may purchase skate polish and new laces at General Sports @ Braemar Arena in Edina or Pierce Skate & Ski in Bloomington.

• Female skaters should have 2 pairs of tights that are nude or tan, sheer to waist. No over-the-boot tights.

• You may want to bring a jacket, sweater or bathrobe to put on to protect your costume and keep you warm while you’re waiting for your group to be called.

• Club skaters must bring another outfit/dress other than their show number costume(s) for the FSC of Bloomington Club photo (see “Costume Information & Distribution” above). ALL club adult, and junior club skaters are encouraged to be in the photo, even if you are not in the show.

• Parents: Please stay clear of the photography area and do not take photos while the photographer is working. The photographer will ask that you move if you venture into the photo area.

Picture Ordering Instructions:

• You must pay for your photographs on the day of pictures. Please make sure you complete your form and fill out the credit card information, or write a check payable to Star Photography. Separate order forms are needed for each show number photo you are ordering, including the group photo. Extra copies will be available picture day. All payments for photos will be collected at the photo check-in table prior to the photos being taken. You may write 1 check for all of your forms.

• Your photographs will be ready to pick up on the night of dress rehearsal, or sooner.

q We will be holding a closed dress rehearsal on Thursday, March 17th which means that we will be charging a nominal fee of $5.00/per person to anyone who wants to watch the rehearsal except for the skater.

Bloomington Ice Garden! Advance sales are only Monday, March 14 through Thursday, March 17.

q Tickets can also be purchased at the door of the Bloomington Ice Garden on the night/day of performances.

2016 Ice Show Program Advertising

Fundraising is important to our skating community here in Bloomington. Dollars raised can help to keep ice costs low, as well as provide money needed to help our club grow and prosper. Selling program advertisements is an easy way to help without our club member families having to write the check. With that said, selling at least one business ad per family is a realistic goal for this fundraising campaign. If you are looking for ideas of whom to solicit ads, just look around at the various businesses that you do business with every day- your favorite restaurants, dentist, orthodontist, sports related store, car dealership, bank, realtor, the large corporation for whom you work. No business is too big or too small to approach. We even have large companies such as Toro, Ceridian, Donaldson Co., and Health Partners. The Mall of America has hundreds of businesses! General Sports and Pierce will be contacted by the club for advertisements. This is a fantastic place to advertise your own business, or place of work. We always prefer to utilize our Club, Jr. Club and Skate School families’ businesses. Let everyone know who you are and what you have to offer, be it products, services, etc.! It’s not that hard. I asked 2 businesses last year and both said yes! One business purchased a full-page ad. Just think of the funds we can raise if everyone does their part. Please use the Business Advertising Form located in your show packet when soliciting and submitting ads. More forms can be found on our webpage at www.fscbloomington.org under the ice show category.
