We also tackled the look of marble without the cost or the weight in water surface creation.

Modular design

Finished in light gray leatherette and textured gray silk

Clear plex with reflective silk screen pattern

This modern, elegant display system is designed for a complete walk-around showcase. The platform’s pitch angles jewelry to catch customer’s eye from afar while showing product clearly from above. Clear acrylic backboards with mirrored oil design create visual separation without

obstructing the light. This design utilizes raw silk fabric in combination with traditional leatherette, playing on the juxtaposition of the reflective and matte surfaces. Trendy grays and minimalistic aesthetic generate the edgy feel of the modern retail environment.

Showing consistency in paint finishes to

emulate worn brushed bronze was a fun

challenge. Accustomed to being asked

for solutions to create the look for less

weight and cost, this execution was spot

on. Sourcing materials is key to us. Here,

the combination of the look of bronze with

the appearance of slate executed in paper

create a distinctive winner.

Our understanding of the complexity working with multiple product lines guarantees seamless visual transition within one brand. Nixon’s branding, developed around the iconic movie “Star Wars”, is an excellent

example of a multi-product visual solution. All displays are designed in the same key, carrying the same octagonal shape and the same materials throughout various visual presentations.

02Design

Design for us happens inside and

outside the box or vacuum. It

comes from everywhere – different

mindsets, experiences, skill-sets,

interests, education, inspiration - all

get pulled into the creative process.

We take the basics from a client’s

marketing campaign, merge that

with product mix, colors associated

with the brand, quantity of product

to merchandise, budget, deadline,

other general guidelines and run

with it. We search keywords, design

blogs, magazines, architecture,

furniture and so much more. For

us, inspiration is everywhere –

watch a movie with one of us

and you’d see. We look at set

design, cinematography, product

placement, costume design,

dialogue expressing or describing

a space.

44

Page 45: 2016 Marketing Book

It’s critical that the design intent be conveyed to the engineering when developing a product. Therefore, our Creative team works closely with the individual or individuals working to create the construction drawings.

03Engineering

46

Page 47: 2016 Marketing Book

We believe strongly that a prototype must be a true representation of what the production piece would be like, so, we produce all of our prototypes in China using the same exact

techniques and machinery that would be used for production. We work to eliminate engineering issues during this process so that when it goes to production, there are no surprises.

Production

We have dedicated line management that works off of control samples and manage the line team throughout the entire production process. Owning our own manufacturing facility is important to us. You could call us control freaks. We don’t and won’t relinquish control of the

steps needed to take a project from concept to a production piece. Quality control is critical to us and projects are monitored every step of the way from the receipt of raw materials through production. This ensures that nothing is packed and shipped without being carefully reviewed.

Page 50: 2016 Marketing Book

We manage the shipping and fulfilment needs for our clients on a case by case basis. No two clients are the exact same in regard to their needs here. We can warehouse product, ship to our clients’ warehouses, deliver to a

freight forwarder, drop ship around the world, warehouse product for pick and pack at a client’s request, provide inventory reports with minimums and maximums for par (if an ongoing program) and so much more.

Ecological responsibility was at the cornerstone of our building the new facility. We have Improved ventilation and cooling systems in workshops, which brings in fresh air to our workshops cooling the air for worker comfort. We have ventilation directly over all Glue stations and carbon air scrubbers for Paint Booths, which reduces VOC emissions into the air. Ionized water dust suppression systems collect

dust produced by sanding painted goods, and ensures that paint dust is not released into the environment. We have variable frequency dust collection systems for wood shops and all dust is captured and recycled. We have “Variable frequency” energy conservation throughout the manufacturing spaces, which allows us to adjust the energy consumption based on the number of machines running at any given time. Our on-

site waste water treatment center is a multi-stage filtration system designed to remove contaminates from waste water. The final filtration is through live kelp. Then and only then is our waste water picked up by an authorized governmental agency for additional treatment.

PN is about so many things. Not the least of which is peace, harmony and reality of life on a factory campus. At PNC (PN-China), many of our workers live on campus. We have dormitory space for 1,100 with air conditioned rooms and private bathrooms. We provide 3 meals a day for those who want to partake,

offer daycare for children and bus them to and from school. We offer basketball and badminton courts, computer lab, a library and continue to add amenities for our workers. We’re proud of a return rate after Chinese New Year of between 93 and 99% every year.
