2016 Annual Report

creatingspace

DEAR FRIENDS,

If you’ve visited our Fort Worth campus lately, you’ve probably noticed some changes. From turning offices into shared workrooms to cleaning out our file cabinets to go paperless, we’re on a mission to create space. More space will make us more efficient, make collaboration easier, and ultimately help us end poverty.

However, it takes more than literal space to end poverty. We also need to make space to create, space to breath, space to dream, and space to see future possibilities.

We need space to end poverty.

This is an idea that we have been visiting and revisiting at CCFW. You see, we’ve been dreaming for a long time now about ending poverty in our community. But for many of our clients, an end to poverty is something they have never had the capacity to dream about. We are determined to empower them to make more space in their lives to permanently move out of poverty. When a client walks in and sits down with a Hope Center Specialist, we want relaxation to set in from their shoulders all the way down to their toes, as they finally have the space to breathe and the space to see a future that isn’t rooted in poverty.

I am so proud and thankful to be a part of CCFW. Not only is our agency made up of passionate, dedicated and determined employees, but amazing supporters like you, who are the key to aggressively attacking barriers so people have the space to reach their dreams. It is only with your help that we will end poverty.

Sincerely,

Heather Reynolds, President and CEO

OUR MISSION IS TO PROVIDE SERVICE TO THOSE IN NEED, TO ADVOCATE COMPASSION AND JUSTICE IN THE STRUCTURES OF SOCIETY, AND TO CALL ALL PEOPLE OF GOOD WILL TO DO THE SAME.

Our Reseach and Innovation Team has been collecting information from the Padua Pilot since its March 2015 launch. Here is what we have learned from our year one group:

One of the ways we create space for our clients is by creating space for ourselves.

Padua Pilot: Year One

Space to think outside the box.

Space to learn.

Space to develop a deeper understanding.

This percentage is much higher than most long-term service programs in the private or public sector

One year after starting Padua, 60% of the 2015 group were still engaged

80% of case management time with clients was in-person visits building a strong relationship based

on trust, commitment, and accountability

The 12-asset framework that guides case managers encompasses all the areas needed for long-term success. The first service year focused primarily on assets needed to establish stability and this was reflected in the growth of client matrix score averages. Client progress in asset areas is measured on a scale on one to five. From day one to 12 months:

Physical went from 2.7 to 3.4

Financial went from 2 to 2.7

Health went from 2.7 to 3.3

One of Padua’s primary goals is for clients to earn a living wage. On average, clients have increased their incomes at or before each 90 day reassessment:

For those at six-month reassessment:

For those at one-year reassessment, average percent to target income went from:

34% increased income by $10,000 or more

Average income increase was over $5,000 per year

forty percent

at day onesixty-one percent

at 12 months

Because of our diverse services, poverty solutions, and income-generating social enterprises, tens of thousands of people were able to create more space in their life.
