LAW DAYApril 29, 2015
32
This has become an annual tradition for the PCBA. Nine schools and fifty students visited the judicial building to observe courtroom proceedings.
The Bar Association provided lunch for the students during which they were able to learn about the different roles that court staff, attorneys and judges have in the legal process. They were also able to ask questions about the proceedings they observed and the legal process in general.
This event is just one of the ways that the Pueblo County Bar Association fulfills its goal of community outreach and education.
MOCK TRIALThis marks the thirtieth year of the CBA High School Mock Trial program.
Statewide, more than 100 high school teams participate and approximately 1,500 students perform as attorneys and/or witnesses in a mock court case.

Locally, the PCBA sponsored 8 high school mock trial teams from 5 local high schools.
A team from Pueblo West HS advanced to the state championship round and took second place!
The PCBA is proud of the dedication and hard work the attorney coaches, faculty sponsors and students have put into the program.
Congrats to all on a job well done!

On February 20, 2015 the PCBA hosted its first fundraiser to benefit the Pueblo County Pro Bono Project and CASA of Pueblo. It was an evening of Victorian-era Mardi Gras enchantment and fun. There was Cajun cuisine, king cakes, live jazz and big band music, dancing, a second line parade, silent and live auctions, the crowning of the king and queen, and a professional psychic-medium giving Victorian-era spiritualist readings.

Special thanks to everyone who opened their hearts and wallets to make this project a huge success.
PCBA members were able to help the Salvation Army provide Christmas gifts for many of the children that remained on the tree at the end of their campaign and were the reason for a lot of happy smiles Christmas morning! Much appreciation to all for their generosity, kindness, and support!
