HH (Honghua Group) has developed into not only a large-scale equipment manufacturer and drilling service enterprise engaged in the research, design, manufacturing and general assembly of drilling rig, offshore engineering and equipment for oil exploration and development, and also the largest drilling rig export enterprise in China and one of the greatest global manufacturers of land rigs. In March 2008, HH was successfully listed in the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited, and became the first listed drilling rig manufacturer of China. Headquartered in Chengdu City of Sichuan Province, the group has the onshore and offshore equipment manufacturing bases located in Deyang City of Sichuan Province and Qidong City of Jiangsu Province respectively, and the factories, sales and service bases established in several countries and districts globally.

In recent years, HH has sold nearly 100 sets of drilling rigs to all oil fields domestically and internationally. Among them 80% were sold to overseas market.
Depending on the excellent quality, competitive price and satisfying after-service, self-made DBS series electric rig, arctic rig, fast-moving rig, HH was awarded acceptance and appreciation by global clients. HH rigs are widely used in more than twenty countries and regions such as United States, Russia, Middle East, Central Asia and Africa etc, which take up great sales share of global land rig market and promote the upgrading of global land rigs.

With the annual manufacturing capacity of 140 drilling rigs and 500 mud pumps, HH has the world's largest rig assembly and test yard in China, where 24 rigs can be assembled/rigged up simultaneously.
HH possesses a first-class fabrication workshop, machining workshop, assembly workshop, forging workshop and related machining equipment to manufacture mast and substructures, hoisting system parts, rotating system parts, high & low pressure mud system parts and auxiliary system parts for rigs.

Research CapacityHH is capable of researching and developing various land rigs, rig components, offshore drilling and servicing modules, offshore equipment and is also able to develop products for various operation conditions and territorial environments as per clients' requirements.
HH possesses a 600-staff highly qualified research and development team, which has already acquired several technology patents with Independent intellectual property rights. The team is rich in rig design experience and developed several advanced rig products and parts to meet clients' requirements better.
The team can carry out integrated design of mechanic, electric and hydraulic system to meet the modern rig requirements of precise control and high automation, etc.

Services and TrainingHH owns a 200-staff professional service team for rig installation, commissioning and solution of problems arising during on-site operation. After-sale service offices have been set up in America, Egypt, U.A.E., Russia and China. HH promises: After receiving the feedback from users, a correct and complete reply will be given within 24 hours. For the problem needs to be solved on site, our technicians will arrive at the site as soon as possible. HH owns a DBS rig training base with a set of simulation operation training platform including advanced DBS training rig and electric control system and hydraulic system, and multimedia audio education lab, multifunction electric classroom, and professional training text books. It has already trained nearly one thousand service staff for clients in Russia, America and Middle East, who are capable of supplying mechanic, electric and drilling engineering services.

Equipped with integral driller's cabin with good human-machine interface, main operation can be realized by joystick and touch screen, where driller can monitor all systems’ status.
Perfect rig misoperation protection can ensure the safety of operators and equipment.
Perfect rig information system, including drilling parameters display and record, video monitor system for rig operation, rig interior communication system, and information remote transmission and monitor system as well.
Electric drive system failure diagnosis function and PLC system with redundancy function.
Operation of automatic rig floor tools makes DBS rig reach a new height in automation and intelligentization.
We can also provide our customer a basic platform for automatic and intelligent drilling, which can be integrated with control system for automatic operation and intelligent drilling.
The first HH DBS rig was delivered from the factory in 2002, and now there are about 200 rigs drilling worldwide.
With the feature of fully Digital Controlled AC VF Electric Drive, DBS drilling rig is one of the most competitive products of HH. This kind of rig has the advantages of excellent operation performance and economical operation efficiency, meanwhile, with the higher automation degree, it greatly reduces labor intensity of well-drilling operation.
DBS rig, with the AC motor features of wide speed range and high torque output, is very suitable to drive drawworks, mud pump, rotary table and top drive; and AC motor is more suitable to be used in explosion proof areas.
AC VF control system has the functions of dynamic braking and max torque output at zero speed, making the operation mode of DBS rig totally different from traditional rig. It provides high efficiency operation and higher safety performance at the same time.
AC driving system has higher electric power factor, less requirement for power unit and lower energy consumption.
Simplified mechanical transmission with less components maintenance work.
Equipped with one gear VFD-driven drawworks of smaller size, lighter weight and higher reliability. Auxiliary drive system is optional for auto-bit-feed and emergency operation.

The drawworks, rotary table and mud pump can realize DC speed regulation control independently.
Drawworks is equipped with one or more DC motors, adopting chain drive, 4 forward+ 4 reverse gears, and its brake system adopts hydraulic disc brake & electromagnetic eddy current brake (or Eaton disc brake).
Rotary table is driven independently by DC motor with 2 forward & 2 reverse gears.
Digital control auto-bit-feed system can be selected to equip, driven by AC-VF motor; driller can carry out drilling operation at optimum drilling parameters by touch screen, improving well bore quality, reducing labor intensity of driller, hence enhancing work efficiency.
DC electric drive system adopts digital control system with auto failure monitoring, which is a perfect protection function.

Main Features
Rotary table independently driven rig is a kind of electromechanical rig with economical efficiency of mechanical rig and some performance of electric rig.
Equipped with rotary table motor, settling the problem that rotary table speed of mechanical rig adopting compound drive and its mud pump stroke cannot be adjusted respectively. RT speed can be adjusted precisely, while functions of torque control and max. torque setting protection etc. can meet the requirements of complex drilling technology.
Drawworks and mud pumps driven by compound chain box. Cardan shaft connection is used between all parts of drive system, making assembly and disassembly easy.
Drawworks is seal type chain drive drawworks with mechanical shift gears of 4 forward and 4 reverse, and its main brake is hydraulic disc brake while auxiliary brake is electromagnetic eddy current brake.
Equipped with auxiliary AC VF (VFD) drive device for auto-bit-feed and emergency operation.
Auto-bit-feed adopts digital control mode, making bit-feed evenly and smoothly with high well bore quality, increasing ROP and avoiding down hole accident more efficiently.
Equipped with perfect driller's cabin with touch screen of parameter display, so driller operation is simple and direct.
Equipped with perfect drilling parameter instrument system, realizing display, store and print of drilling parameters.
Power-saving generator driven by integral chain box can be selected to equip for supplying power to RT and well site, so other generating equipment are unnecessary in normal drilling condition.

Mechanical rig is driven by diesel engine; drawworks, rotary table and mud pump are driven by diesel engine through compound unit. Cardan shaft connection is used between all parts of drive system, making disassembly and assembly easy.
Mechanical drive adopts many kinds of combined drive modes such as "diesel engine + hydraulic torque converter (or coupling) + compound box", "diesel engine + V-belt compound device", etc.
Power engine and drive device are installed at low position, and cardan shaft is used for transferring power to drill floor to drive rotary table.
Drawworks is seal type chain drive drawworks with mechanical shift gears of 4 forward and 2 reverse (or 6 forward & 2 reverse), its main brake is hydraulic disc brake or band brake while auxiliary brake is electromagnetic eddy current brake.
Drawworks is equipped with auxiliary AC motor drive device for mast up & down and emergency operation and reserves interface for upgrading to auto-bit-feed system.
Equipped with driller's cabin and drilling instrumentations. The driller can operate some hydraulic and pneumatic tools in the driller's cabin, which improves driller's working environment and reduces his labor intensity.

HH arctic rig is suitable for extreme environment operation in the region of Siberia and near arctic, etc. This kind of rig adopts structure material for arctic environment and complete winterization system.
According to features of extreme low temperature environment, material, lube & seal, hydraulic & pneumatic equipment, electric system etc. are optimized to meet the operation requirements of ambient temperature within -45℃~40℃. Anti-low temperature material is adopted for load components such as mast, substructure, crown block, ladders, handrails and drawworks, etc. Auto temperature control electric heater is used in lube oil tank.
Most HH arctic rigs adopt AC VF drive mode, matching diesel generator for power system. For clients' requirements, matching transforming power module that connects to high-voltage industrial power grid is available.

Desert Fast Moving Rig
Main Features
Desert fast moving rig adopts wheel set trailer transportation for all modules, which shortens transporting time of rig between wells and reduce installation work load with very high operational performance and efficiency.
Mast and substructure can be trailed with mast vertical and heavy trailing wheels on substructure have turning function. Mast can be trailed and transported independently without top drive disassembly.
Mast top is designed to be foldable, and can pass overhead high voltage power grid of oil field easily.
Power module, drilling pump set, mud tank and other accessories can be equipped with trailing device for fast moving.
The whole structure layout of drilling rig is suitable for fast moving and installation. The design of rig cable and pipelines can meet the requirements of fast installation and disassembly. Matched movable hydraulic power station is for the hydraulic operation during rig transportation.
Most HH fast moving rigs are driven in AC VF mode.

HH CTR120/300 hybrid coiled tubing drilling rig has combined the conventional drilling rig with coiled tubing operation unit, i.e. the drilling can be applied by both the coiled tubing and the conventional jointed drill pipe. Maximum hook load of the drilling rig is 135T, injection head is driven by hydraulic power, maximum lifting capacity is 54T, maximum snubbing capacity is 27T, maximum tripping speed of the coiled tubing is 48m/min, drilling depth of 3-1/2" coiled tubing is up to 2,000m. The drilling rig is equipped with power swivel, iron roughneck, hydraulic slip, mechanical handing unit and other automation wellhead machines and tools, with the features of high operating efficiency and low worker's labor intensity. The main equipments are installed on three large trailers with good mobility, better meeting the users’ need for exploration and development of shallow reservoir.

HH brought up an integrated shale gas exploitation concept, that is, ‘network going first, generating gas with gas, gas-electric combination, assembly-line alike operations and production industrialization’. It is the key to achieve low cost and high efficiency.
The all-electric shale gas operations equipment developed by HH, such as 6,000 horsepower variable frequency drive fracturing pump, Flex Tank, DBS cluster well drilling rigs, super-single hydraulic rigs, variable frequency electric drive sand blenders, and the supporting medium voltage variable frequency drive systems and gas generators, effectively solved issues of operating costs, land use, water recycling, environmental protection and others.
HH proposes the concept of building transformer substation and local power grid in shale gas developing block, generated by fuel gas. This concept is expected not only to solve the problems concerning cost-efficiency of energy supply on its own and stability in shale gas developing process, but also a new exit for distributional energy construction.

Main Features
HH can provide a full series of 350HP-4000HP drawworks to meet the requirements of different rigs, with load capacity from 90 to 900 metric tons.
Drawworks drive mode includes AC VF drive, DC SCR drive and mechanical drive respectively.
One step parallel gear (or planetary gear) single shaft driven-AC VFD drawworks is reliable at work with small size, light weight and less maintenance work.
Some drawworks also adopts AC motor to drive directly.
The main brake is band brake or hydraulic disc brake. Auxiliary brake has been equipped with eddy current brake.
The drawworks is also equipped with separate AC VF drive device and computer auto control system, as well as the auto bit feeding function, and the functions of real time control, monitoring and analysis of tripping in condition and drilling condition, to realize optimizing drilling operation.

Top Drive System
The top drive adopts a structure of mechanical-electrical integration, the motor drives the main shaft directly. Gearless design makes the system a simple structure, low-failure-rate and convenient maintenance.
Bearings of its power system adopt grease lubrication which reduces sealing mechanisms and is convenient for maintenance, as there is no oil lubrication or related oil cooling, filtrating system.
The main motor can work overtorque in a short-time period, and its performance will never be limited by a mechanical reducer. Direct driving also cuts the energy loss during transmissions.
The cooling system has a higher efficiency.
Integrated HPU system, junction box and blower are all installed exterior to the shell of the Top Drive, which are convenient for operation and maintenance.

The Triplex pump set adopts electromechanical design, AC motors directly drive drilling pump instead of traditional transmission gearbox, considerably improving the driving efficiency and reliability. Sticking to the design concept of developing AC traction motor, HH is engaged in research and development of drilling motor with a large extent of constant power to improve the drilling efficiency and decrease the drilling cost. The stator adopts preformed winding and forms a solid complexity after being varnished under VPI vacuum pressure. The rotor is of a squirrel type structure with high strength, which enables the drilling rig operate reliably in severe environment. Besides, the rotor is of small rotational inertia, improving the acceleration and deceleration performance of drawworks and reducing the energy consumption during acceleration and deceleration.

Main Features
Electric Drive System
The electric drive systems include: AC drive (VFD) s, DC drive (SCR drive), MCC (motor control center), well site circuitry, and lighting systems, etc.
VFD (variable frequency drive) is the key to the AC rig. The system consist of the modules such as generator control, rectifier and inverter, dynamic brake, PLC control system, MCC system, transformers, air-conditioning, etc.
The VFD system uses ABB or SIEMENS direct torque converter, with a commonly shared DC bus, it can precisely control the drawworks, mud pumps, and rotary table. Drawworks VFD speed regulation system uses closed-loop control for ensuring high starting torque of the system and improves torque dynamic response at the starting time and low-speed to realize max output torque (suspending function) of zero speed. The inverter adopts a modular structure and is interchangeable, the ability to be removed and installed quickly to save maintenance and system downtime .
The entire system uses bus communication, with several advanced functions such as data display and recording, and remote transmission, etc.
DC Drive (SCR) system consists of generator controls, SCR control cabinet, PLC control system, MCC system, transformers, air-conditioner, etc. The DC Drive (SCR) system uses AC-SCR-DC transmission , digital speed control , making one SCR cabinet control different functions.

Different types of rigs can be equipped with HH’s driller's cabin, including AC rig, DC rigs and mechanical drilling rigs, etc.
The Driller's cabin is the control center of the rig. It provides integrated rig operation and information processing functions, providing a comfortable and safe operating environment for the driller.
Integrated drilling parameters instrumentation systems, combined analog instrumentation and digital instrumentation, the Driller's Cabin can display and monitor the operating conditions of the rigs electrical components.
IPC records drilling parameters can generate and print reports, parameter curves, and store drilling data for up to three months.
The cabin is equipped with rig video surveillance systems and intercom systems, as well as a gas detection and alarm system.
The design of the driller's cabin meets ergonomic requirements; electrical design and installation. It is in compliance with the relevant electrical codes, specifications and explosion-proof standards.
