Foundation News 2015
Foundation Committee
From the Foundation President
As the President of the Foundation, at the completion of our third
year, it gives me pleasure to report that the SPW Foundation,
through its Annual Joy of Giving 2015 campaign, has again
reached new heights. We have recently been able to donate
$75,000 towards a variety of building projects that are taking
place at St Peter’s Woodlands. This is a first!
When the Joy of Giving campaign was launched we identified
Robotics and the establishment of our Design and Technologies
Studio, resurfacing of the Maturin Road courts, and the
transformation of outdoor learning spaces as possible projects.
What I am pleased to report is that the Design and Technologies
Studio has been built and is being used, The Hub has continued to
develop with opportunities for children provided with funds from
the Foundation. An extensive renovation of our current Early
Learning Centre is taking place and the Maturin Road courts will
be resurfaced in 2016. The funds from the Foundation have been
a great help.
This year a total of $47,645.80 has been raised with $42,200.80 from
the annual building appeal, $4,325 from the scholarship appeal,
and $1,120 from the general appeal. This is a 90.1% increase on
last year, an indication of the generosity of our community which
is greatly appreciated. In particular I would like to thank our
platinum donor, Mrs Pamela Wall, who has again generously
given to the Foundation following her attendance at the ‘Under
the Tuscan Sun’ Long Lunch, an event held under the auspices of
the Foundation but including members of the PFA, the School
Council, the Woodlands Trust Board, old scholars and staff.
Recently the Management Committee of the Foundation met
with “tatu” in order to begin the process of developing new
strategic directions for 2016-2018 that dovetail with the SPW
Strategic Plan. We have identified improved communication with
our stakeholders, and the support of a significant capital project.
We also identified future projects that could include the
establishment of a bequest program and effective methods of
building relationships with major gift donors.
I would like to thank this year’s members of the Management
Committee, Mrs Susan Loftes and Mr Tom Clifford, and the officers
of the Association who include Mr David Brock, and Mrs Karen
Schaumloffel. I would also like to thank Associate Members Mrs
Deb Disbury and Mr Mark Hayward, and congratulate Mr Mark
Hayward who has now been appointed as a Committee member,
replacing recently retired Mr Tom Clifford. Finally I would like to
thank our Secretary, Mrs Karen Schaumloffel, whose untiring efforts
and outstanding organisation, continue to provide the
administrative support that makes the business of building our
philanthropic community a reality.

Thank you our Donors and Volunteers
Thank you to the wonderful volunteers and donors within our school community. Your valuable contributions of time, support and financial
assistance help us to achieve our goals; to give our students a world-class innovative education through personalised learning with a wide
range of opportunities.
The Foundation Long Lunch
The Foundation’s inaugural event saw more than 160 members of
the SPW school community gather together for a spring afternoon
filled with fine South Australian produce, wine and live music. The
Nutter Thomas lawns were transformed into a magical setting of
long tables adorned with lavender pots and fresh flowers
depicting the Tuscan theme. A special mention must be made to
the many volunteers who helped create this magical setting. We
thank everyone who was able to contribute including our sponsors
Tuckers Natural, Prestige Copy Print, Daiquiri Factory, D C Signs,
Soupcan Design, B.-d. Farm Paris Creek, Audi Stadium Club, Menz
FruChocs and Adelaide Coachlines.
The goal of the Foundation Long Lunch was to raise awareness of
the Foundation’s role within our community and to raise funds for
this year’s Annual Appeal. During the afternoon we heard from
two old scholars’, Mrs Pamela Wall and Commander Sandy
Coulson CSM RANR, who are generous supporters of the
Foundation and the school community. Thank you also to our MC
Lisa Schroeder (McAskill) who presented a wonderful afternoon’s
program and conducted the interviews with our special guests.
The event was a great success and we raised $10,000 in support of
this year’s Annual Appeal projects.

SPW Foundation—Building a Bright Future
What is the Foundation? The St Peter’s Woodlands Foundation was established in 2012, to
manage and encourage ongoing financial support of SPW.
Over the course of many years SPW has been sustained by the
significant generosity of parents, past parents, old scholars and
friends of our school community.
The Foundation ensures that these valued contributions are used
in the best possible manner so we continue to have the
appropriate facilities and programs provided for present and
future students.
Who benefits? With the most appropriate facilities and programs for our children
we will all benefit. SPW’s commitment to providing ‘excellence in
Early Learning and Primary education’ will continue as we nurture
our students to be happy, knowledgeable and creative young
people who care for others and make a positive difference in the
world.
How does it work? The valuable contributions of time, support and financial
assistance provided by our vibrant school community help us to
achieve our goals. This continued support, along with the
management and guidance of the Foundation Committee, and
the School Council, ensures that we will be able to constantly
improve our facilities and capabilities, giving our students the best
possible educational experience.
SPW strives to give our students a world-class innovative
education through personalised learning with a wide range of
opportunities.
Making a donation You can make a contribution toward the future of SPW through
the Foundation at any time. One-off gifts, pledges or ongoing
monthly contributions are highly appreciated and recognised. To
find out more about how the Foundation supports SPW, please
contact the Development Office on 08 7721 6202.
Joining the St Peter’s Woodlands Foundation Becoming a member of the St Peter’s Woodlands Grammar
School Foundation is an excellent way to take part in shaping the
future of SPW.
The Foundation welcomes all members from our wide community
of families, friends and supporters who would like to directly
contribute to furthering the opportunities offered to our students.
There are six membership levels (as listed below), each with an
associated donation level.
Donors are publicly recognised and thanked, and are able to
take a proactive role in shaping the future of SPW.
To become a Foundation member, or to find out more about the
Foundation please contact Karen Schaumloffel in the
