Volunteers also needed in Ice Cream Parlor to make Ice Cream treats, run register and perform cleaning duties. Volunteers can also become a Docent and give tours, or help staff in a variety of areas with various different projects.

Mentors develop a positive relationship with a young person (grade K-12) through fun activities like board games, sports, puzzles, arts or crafts, taking a walk or talking. n United Way funds over 60 programs through 41 partner agencies that support the education, income, health and basic needs of Chippewa and Eau Claire county residents.

n United Way’s program partners provided assistance to people 65,462 times in Eau Claire and Chippewa counties.

n United Way of the Greater Chippewa Valley is focused on ensuring children enter school ready to succeed, helping families and individuals to be more financially stable, and promoting healthy lifestyles and behaviors for everyone. This is being accomplished through the development of three comprehensive plans: Successful Children’s Network, Financial Stability Partnership, and Community Health Initiative. The goal? A good quality of life for everyone in our community.

n Almost 600 volunteers took part in the 2013 Day of Caring. Individuals and teams from 30 businesses helped 30 area nonprofits and public service organizations with well over 60 projects at 35 locations. Approximately 1800 volunteer hours were generously given.

n The 2013 Shoebox Project collected almost 700 shoeboxes of personal care items which were given to 13 area nonprofits to distribute to individuals and families. A conservative estimate puts total dollar value on these donations at over $17,000.
