Seniors @ 5280 believes in creating unique sessions for each of our clients, either on location or at our stu-dio. We started Seniors @ 5280 to create something unique and special. The factory approach we’d seen in Senior photography, fixed sets and bland poses, seemed boring and stale. By bringing fashion and sports magazine cover photography to Seniors, we create incredible, treasured images for our clients.

Our attention to detail shows through every image. By focusing on styling, makeup, lighting and post pro-cessing, we take great care in every step to create images similar to the covers of today’s sports and fashion magazines. Our clients refer to our images as “more sophisticated” and “original.” In additon, the photos are frequently used by our client’s for their modeling portfolio. And, nobody in the Front Range does sports photography better than Seniors @ 5280.

Capturing the aspects of your senior’s life, they’ll be able to look back years from now and remember this amazing time. Seniors @ 5280 limits the number of sessions we shoot in a year, to keep our creativity high and images unique. If your interests lean toward traditional senior photography, we also offer Studio B, a higher volume and lower price alternative.

Six hour premier session for the senior who wants the best. If you play multiple sports or have extra cirricular activities, this is the session for you! Allows multiple locations. Our makeup artist and stylist, included, will work with you to design a one-of-a-kind experience. Minimum purchase required.

2 1/2 hours to capture everything about your Senior. Allows multiple locations either outdoors or in the studio. Usually 6-8 outfit changes.

OverviewSeniors @ 5280 introduced Stu-dio B to provide a price sensitive alternative to our signature style. Each year Seniors @ 5280 hires new staff photographers and trains them in the off season. They produce excellent work. Last year we booked out our sessions for the year in July and ended up referring dozens of clients to Studio B. The clients loved the lower cost and results.

PricingStudio B sessions are one hour and 15 minutes. Mom’s with sons who hate photoshoots, this is the shoot for them. It allows for up to 3-4 outfit changes. We shoot on location or in the stu-dio on specific days.

Studio B print pricing is also priced for budget-conscious parents.

What to look forTake a look at what happens when all of these mistakes are avoided. So many different, amazing looks can be created with the right combination. You’re one of a kind, make your photos as unique as you!

Not stylizing your shootWe provide a wardrobe styling session prior to a shoot, with your wardrobe and our wardrobe of accessories and outfits. A great shoot is as much about great styling choices as it is the technical aspects of photogra-phy.

Yearbook onlySenior pictures are much less about the yearbook shot and more about the memories the senior and family will keep as they leave to go into the world. The yearbook photo should be great, but in the end, it’s a 2” x 3” photo. It simply can’t do justice to your personality, sport or style!

Using fixed setsSo many photography studios take the easy way out. They shoot the same sets, year after year; the same poses; the same lighting. There’s no imagination and it blends everyone into one homogenized style. It doesn’t emote any of your personality or individuality.

Don’t avoid studio shots all together, but use it to augment your location photoshoot and get some great finished looks simply not possible outside.

Waiting till fallSeniors @ 5280 usually books up for the year in mid-July. In fact, almost every good pho-tographer in Colorado will book up in the mid-summer months. Deadlines for school pictures range from September 1st to late November. If you wait till Sep-tember to book, it will be difficult to find good photographer.

Seniors @ 5280 offers great dis-counts in the May/June season. We offer 40% discounts till June 15th and 35% discounts till July 1st.

Good camerasA great camera does not mean great pictures. Simply having a top camera does nothing for lighting, posing and stylizing a shoot. Most clients who re-shoot with us originally went to a friend with a “nice camera.” A bad pose or bad lighting can add 20 pounds to a person’s body.

no makeup artistThese are typically the last professional pictures, before a senior gets married. A makeup artist can take your photos to a different level and they aren’t ex-pensive. Typically they’ll charge under $75 for multiple looks.

No Colorado studio does sports like Seniors @ 5280. We shoot 100’s of athletes per year and know how to take great sports portraits. We’ve played most sports and understand the nuances of the game, with attention to detail and understanding the proper form. Great senior sports photos show action and tell a story. We’ve had athletes flat out tell us we would have a hard time capturing the essence of their sports in a single photograph. In the end, they were amazed we were able to create a portrait that told a story of the best times of their career.

We put together group sessions so we can add extras to the scenes and make the shots look like a real game. As you can see, it’s hard to tell it isn’t. The images you get belong on the cover to today’s leading sports magazines. If you’re an athlete, Seniors @ 5280 is the clear choice.

GeTTinG THe MosToUT oF YoUr sessionEye Color

Green EyesWarm colors such as deep pur-ples, plums, lilacs, golds, bronze, deep green, mauves, copper, brown, medium pinks, apricots and peaches work well for green eyes. Avoid the cooler colors such as blues, silvers, whites and pastels. These will tend to make you look washed out. Use brown instead of black eyelin-ers, or perhaps bronze or gold. Your lips and blushes should be similar colors. You can also match with a burgundy color for lipstick.

Try out a few of these looks and styles and see what you like before your photoshoot. Blue EyesGenerally, blue eyes work best with gray, violet, taupe, purple and deep blues. Using dark shades of blue bring out more natural blue tones in your eyes. If you mix black liner with bright blue, it gives you more of the popular smoky effect.

For a more fun/funky look, mix silver, fuschia or turquoise in. Blond hair, fair skin can also mix in violet, lavenders and pink where as red hair might work better with shades of brown…your hair and skin tone really call for a more natural looking eye shadow. Add a gold shim-mer to the brown tones to add a

distinct finished look. Blue eyes have different shades and inten-sity. Warm browns, taupes and soft peach colors work well also.

Brown EyesOkay, here’s the easy part. Brown eyes work with almost everything stated above. Darker skins should stay away from white or light colors and look for eye shadows with deep, rich col-ors. Fair skin tones should stay away from the darker colors and migrate toward lighter shades.

The bottom line is, experiment. So many factors come into play such as outfits and the casual or formal nature of the event or look. But, from dramatic to re-laxed and casual, the tips above will make sure the foundation of colors and tones are in place for a great look!

Final Thoughts

A couple final thoughts. Don’t get your haircut the week be-fore your session. We’ve all had those bad haircuts and now is not the time to be experimental. You don’t want to end up with a style you’ll regret. And, add color and accessories to your session. Black, white and grey are great, but they get old quick. Adding splashes of color or heck, full on color make for more interesting portraits. And don’t forget those accessories!.
