THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE, WELCOME TO

CALIFORNIA COLLEGES.

NOW PAY US OUT OF STATE TUITION.

AB 13

Rocky Chavez, 76th Assembly District

Current law requires veteran students to have lived in California for at least 1 year to re-ceive in-state tuition fees.. This is the same for all students.

VA Education (GI Bill) will only pay the in-state tuition costs, meaning a veteran student would have to pay for rest, even though they have already served their country.

This bill would eliminate the residency re-quirement for veterans, allowing veteran stu-dents to move into California to get an educa-tion.

SB 285 This bill would allow

people of California to donate to a fund specifi-cally for the Cal Grant B access program; the peo-ple donating would be able to get a tax credit.

Currently 52% of stu-dents at CSUB are Cal Grant B recipients… The state average is 38%.

Governer Brown’s May Revise

Budget Proposal

No more Budget cuts to the CSU!

However, there is no more money being allocated to the CSU. In order for the CSU to grow we need at least $155.8 Million dollars allocated to the CSU system

The CSU system needs more money in order to stay true to access for our Ca students and be able to enroll new students. The CSU is also in need of urgent maintenance.

There was going to be a unit cap imposed on our stu-dents; however that was overturned during the Assem-bly and Senate subcommittees and is no longer on the budget proposal.

Finally you can get back on track

with your approved bankruptcy…

...now pay back your student loans.

AJR 11 This measure would urge the Presi-

dent and Congress of the United States to support and pass legisla-tion that would ease the discharge-ability of private student loan debt in a bankruptcy case filed under Chapter 7 or Chapter 13 of the Bankruptcy Code.
