Zion National ParkZion Canyon Visitors Center is open year-round 8-5 daily. The park is accessible on Scenic Byway 9 from I-15 on the west, or US 89 at Mt. Carmel Junction. (435) 772-3256

Cedar Breaks National MonumentLocated in the high country north of Zion. Features amulticolored limestone amphitheater surrounded by cool forests and meadows. Scenic drive, picnicking, camping, hiking trails and visitor center. Closed during winter due to snow. Call (435) 586-9451

Kolob CanyonsFeatures spectacular narrow canyons and brightly colored, towering vertical cliffs. Excellent views from 5-mile scenic drive. Picnic area and hiking trails. Kolob Canyons Visitor Center is open 8-6 daily. Call (435) 586-9548

WHILE INSALT LAKE CITY:Historic Temple Square50 West North Temple is the symbolic heart of the worldwide Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, the Mormons. The square includes the six-spired Temple, Tabernacle,Assembly Hall, information centers, gardens andmonuments. Family History LibraryThe Family History Library has the world’s largestcollection of genealogical materials and welcomes the public to use the collection free of charge. Great Salt LakeLuxurious scenic cruises depart daily from the Antelope Island State Park. Other recreational areas are around the Great Salt Lake. Visit Antelope Island to hike, bike orhorseback ride while enjoying the view of bison, antelope and other wildlife. Call (801) 773-2941

Utah’s Hogle ZooThe wildest place in town. Located at the mouth ofEmigration Canyon, the Zoo is home to more than 1,000 amphibians, birds, mammals and reptiles from across the world. Special features include Discovery Land, PrimateForest and the African Savannah. The Zoo is located at 2600 East Sunnyside Avenue. Visitors are welcome 7 days a week, 363 days a year. Mormon TabernacleFamed for its 11,623-pipe organ, its choir and superbacoustics. Free 1/2 hour organ recitals at 2pm onSundays and at noon Monday thru Saturday (also at 2pm during Summer months). Mormon Tabernacle Choirbroadcast begins at 9:30am on Sunday mornings;admission is free, but plan on arriving by 9am or so to get a seat. Attend a choir rehearsal, held from 8 to 9:30pmmost Thursdays.
