    As part of our celebration of National Sewing Month we are excited to welcome toThe Smocking Bird Elizabeth Vanness, second generation owner ofTHE 1752

    LACECOMPANY.

    Elizabeth will be in the shop on Friday, September 14 and September 15, 2012 forseveral special events.

    TRUNK SHOW - ALL DAY ON FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 14

    YES Literally a trunk showElizabeth will have containers of her

    inventory of laces for sale for our customerswith wonderful samplesfor you to enjoy..beautiful English embroidered nettings.

    FRIDAY EVENING 5:30 8:30 Elizabeth will have a lecture on the history,

    preservation, and lace making techniques. This is a free event! Following

    the event lecture, attendees will be privileged to a special discount sale.

    Only those who attend the lecture will be able to participate in this special

    customer sale.

    SATURDAY LACE SALE CONTINUES 10:00-1:00 Elizabeth will be teaching

    a bonnet class using Jeanne Baumeisters bonnet pattern. This is an easyhand sewing class great for beginners. Your kit will include one of the 6

    inch pieces of 1752s embroidered lace nettings and silk ribbons. Your lace

    bonnet will be finished and ready to wrap up when you leave the class.

    Class cost includes the kit: $50
