● As part of the development of its Management System, and based on its client approach, Saceem is constantly
focused on client needs, in an effort to understand their views and be ahead of their expectations. Thus, since 1996
Saceem has been implementing annual client satisfaction surveys, analyzing and acting on its results. 2009 was the
year with the highest Client Satisfaction Index.
● In search of creativity and innovation, in 2009 Saceem implemented a client approach which includes personal
meetings where the different services offered are discussed with clients.
● SURVEY RESULTS
Technical capacity, commitment and a close relation with clients enable Saceem to exceed client expectations. This
is reflected in average scores of over 4.0 within a scale from 1 to 5.

History
1951 - 1968
In 1951 Saceem started its operations in Uruguay as a subsidiary of the French company CEEM (Compagnie
d‟Enterprises Eléctro Mécaniques), which arrived in the country to carry out the enlargement works of José Batlle
y Ordóñez Power Plant, and to lay high tension lines.
1968 - 1997
In 1968 the French companies Société de Construction des Batignolles and SPIE merged, and Saceem became
part of the company SPIE Batignolles. .
1997 - 2002
In 1997, after a “Management buyout”, the employees of SPIE Batignolles became majority shareholders
together with the English company AMEC (new shareholder). In 1998 the company changed its name to SPIE.
2002 - 2007
In 2003 the Engish company AMEC purchased 100% of SPIE stock, and changed its name to AMEC SPIE.
Through a “management buyout”, Saceem‟s local executives purchased the company in Uruguay.
2008 - …
In 2008 the Brazilian investor group Neocorp took over Saceem, which remained as the Uruguayan business
partner. In 2009 Saceem started preparations for a new stage, which included a search for engineering and
construction businesses in Latin America.

Certifications
Within the framework of its Management Integrated Systems, in 1997 Saceem established -and still maintains- a
Quality Management System for all of its areas of activity which has been certified by UNIT (Uruguayan Institute
of Technical Standards) and AENOR (Spanish Association for Standardization and Certification) pursuant to
UNIT – ISO 9001:2000 regulations.
In February 2002 Saceem was awarded –and still maintains- the OHSAS 18001 certification for its Occupational
Safety and Health System, and thus became the first Uruguayan company in obtaining such a distinction. The
certificate –awarded by UNIT- covers all the activities carried out in the company

documentation and is audited jointly with the system of which it is part.

Saceem‟s experienced professionals and technicians, as well as its proven coordinated management system,

Saceem‟s projects are developed through a decentralized management system, based on a planned delegation

composed of 2 16-meter stretches of and 11 24-meter stretches.
