Fredericksburg REALTORS® FoundationThe Board of Directors appoints the nine Governors for a three-year term. Membership is encouraged to apply when positions become vacant. Grievance/Professional StandardsCovers both the grievance and hearing process. The Grievance Committee reviews ethics complaints and requests for arbitration from agents or the public and determines whether the facts of the complaint merit a hearing. The group also administers the Citation program. Members of Professional Standards hold hearings to determine whether violations of the Code of Ethics have occurred or to resolve procuring cause issues. Membership on either group requires an annual training session and three years experience as an agent. Caseload dictates meetings.

Founded in 1990, the Fredericksburg REALTORS® Foundation has contributed thousands of dollars in efforts to give back to the community. These helping hands have been extended to community agencies and organizations such as the Homes for Our Troops, Habitat for Humanity, New Vision, RACSB, CVHC, Hope House, and the Thurman Brisben Center. FAAR holds many fundraising events throughout the year that benefit the Fredericksburg REALTORS® Foundation, such as Bingo Nights, Silent Auction at the REALTORS® Awards Luncheon, and Regional High Schoool Art Show. Many thanks to all members who have contributed to the success of the Foundation throughout the years.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to provide grants to local, charitable organizations and through those organizations assist area residents struggling with hardships that threaten their ability to secure and retain shelter.

Real Estate Career Academy

RECA continues to be a place you can take not only all the state licence required classes in a convenient two day seminar, but also a multitude of electives. We offer topics that are pertinenent to today’s real estate industry, including technology, trends, and all the latest changes in contracts and addendums. RECA is an approved school with both VAR and NAR and is proud to work together with these associations to offer designations and certification classes. Being a part of FAAR ensures all classes are written and coordinated with memberships needs in mind.

BENEFITS

As a member benefit, members can attend RECA courses at a discounted rate. RECA is also a source of non dues revenue for the association. The revenue produced by RECA is used to minimize membership dues and support additional benefits to association members and the community. In attending courses at RECA members can feel confident that they are supporting the association, their community, the real estate industry and helping minimize their own dues while receiving quality education.

RPAC Why should you support RPAC?

REALTORS® make many business investments – cell phones, cars, computers, MLS fees, errors and omissions insurance. They are investments you rely on in your business. However, some REALTORS® overlook one very important investment in their business. That investment is RPAC (REALTORS® Political Action Committee).

RPAC is a way Virginia REALTORS® can act together in influencing legislation and regulation that affects real estate property rights in our state and nation. RPAC helps elect candidates who think like we do, who understand the challenges of running a small business, paying self-employment taxes, and defending oneself against frivolous lawsuits. RPAC is not a charity. Rather, it is a necessary investment in your business, a kind of insurance policy against bad legislation and regulation. Furthermore, RPAC is non-partisan in its support for candidates. It’s all about policies, not parties.

Who can contribute?

If you are a REALTOR®, an affiliate member, or an immediate family member residing in the same household, you can contribute to RPAC.

How can I contribute?

It’s easy to contribute to RPAC! Pay with your dues billing in the fall, contribute at one of our events like the Chili Cook Off or contact FAAR directly at 540-373-7711. You may also contribute directly online through NAR’s website at http://www.realtor.org/government_affairs/rpac.

SALESPERSONS WHO ARE WITHIN THEIR FIRST TWO-YEAR LICENSE TERM MUST COMPLETE 30 HOURS OF POST LICENSE EDUCATION

INSTEAD OF COMPLETING CONTINUING EDUCATION.

Active Salespersons must complete these 30 hours within one year of your license issue date to keep your license active. Failure to do this will result in the Board placing your license on inactive status until you complete the 30 hours of Post License Education, and submit a “License Activation” form and $60 activation fee to the Board. Inactive Salespersons must complete these 30 hours within your first two-year license term to renew your license. You must choose one Post License Education Practice Track (Residential Real Estate, Commercial Real Estate, or Property Management) by completing a Manda-tory course in that Practice Track. You must complete all the Mandatory courses for the Practice Track you choose. You can complete Post License Education Elective courses from any Practice Track. Your completed Post License Educa-tion course hours are identified as “Mandatory” and “Elective” hours in the lower box on the right side of this page. No Post License Education course hours will display on this page until you have completed at least one Mandatory course. Active Salespersons who have previously renewed their current license at least one time must complete 16 hours of Continuing Education within your current two-year license term to renew your license. You must complete 2 hours in Fair Housing, 3 hours in Ethics & Standards of Conduct, 1 hour in Legal Up-dates/Law, 1 hour in Real Estate Agency and 1 hour in Real Estate Contracts. The remaining 8 hours may be in Real Estate Related Subjects or in the specific categories mentioned earlier in this paragraph. In addition to these 16 hours of Continuing Education, all active Salespersons whose licenses expire between July 1, 2012, and June 30, 2014, must complete a 3-hour Residential Standard Agency (RSA) course to renew or reinstate your license. Active Salespersons will not get credit for complet-ing the 3-hour RSA course if your license expires BEFORE July 1, 2012, and you complete this course BEFORE July 1, 2012. Active Salespersons will get credit for completing the 3-hour RSA course if your license expires AFTER July 1, 2012, and you complete this course BEFORE or AFTER July 1, 2012. This is because Board Regulations require licensees to complete the RSA course “during your current two-year licensure term” to receive credit.
