KNOWLEDGE RATINGS

The following worksheets display "average knowledge ratings" by paygrade, with added background information that was gathered from the survey sample. This information will be used to help determine the content of the AFPAM 36-2241, Professional Development Guide (PDG), in additional to the ratings directly affecting the content of the PFE and USAFSE examinations.

The first worksheets for each paygrade display background information for that paygrade. The two following sheets display the "average knowledge ratings" for each paygrade. The first of these displays the ratings in inventory order, while the next worksheet displays the ratings in descending order. These tables represents all 162 knowledge statements taken from the "table of contents" of the PFE/USAFE Study Guides.

An "average knowledge rating" is only interpretable in the contest of the mean and variability of the entire set of knowledge statements ratings, and particularly from the mean and the variability of the other knowledge statements within the same criterion group. Therefore, knowledge statements with high "average knowledge means" (defined as a rating at least one standard deviation above the mean) were considered more important for inclusion in the USAFE promotion test than other statements with lower averages.
