Meet the CoachHannah Angel is the Head Coach of the Softball team. Prior to joining the Emmanuel staff in 2011, Angel spent two years as an assistant coach at neighboring Simmons College. While with the Sharks, she helped guide the softball program to two of its most winning records in program history.

As a player, Angel was a four-year pitcher for the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. During her time as a collegiate student-athlete, Angel was an all-conference selection and was ranked among the top five in the Southern Conference for ERA, innings pitched, wins and strikeouts during both her junior and senior seasons. Angel pitched against the 2008 USA Olympic Team while on its tour to Beijing. She is also ranked third all-time in strikeouts at UNCG.

As a high school player, Angel led Forbush High School to three North Carolina State Championships and was named the North Carolina Division II Player of the Year twice. In 2003, she was featured in Sports Illustrated for her softball achievements.

Angel received a Bachelor of Arts degree in history and sociology from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2008, as well as a master’s degree from Simmons College School of Social Work. In the off-season, Angel has experience with individual pitching lessons and instruction at college softball camps. She resides in Beverly, Mass.

FacilitiesThe Saints’ home venue is unlike any in Boston. The team plays on the brand-new, NCAA-regulation synthetic turf field at Roberto Clemente Field, located across the street from Emmanuel’s campus. With its open-stadium design and the city’s skyline as its backdrop, Clemente Field makes for a unique playing experience. The facility is outfitted with new MUSCO lighting, scoreboard and plenty of spectator seating. In addition, the Saints have access to a state-of-the-art training facility in the Jean Yawkey Center as well as the St. Joseph Hall fitness center, which is updated with new platforms, racks, free weights, plate-loaded equipment and a separate cardio room.

“Emmanuel College provides an amazing opportunity for student-

athletes to achieve success in the classroom, to compete athletically

in a comprehensive NCAA Division III environment, and to fully

participate in our campus community on a daily basis. Our

coaches totally support the academic mission of the college, and

our student-athletes continue to make us proud on an annual basis.”
