ONE UNIVERSITY - TWO CAMPUSES: No matter what

you are seeking in a college setting, you can find it at one of

Pace's two different locations. Whichever campus you choose,

you will also have the opportunity to take courses on the other

campus.

*PLEASANTVILLE/BRIARCLIFF -- About forty minutes

from the New York City campus, these two suburban

locations,minutes apart, are administered as one campus. In addi-

tion to a serene setting, the campus is noted for its Environmental

Center and stables complete with horses, goats, and geese. Tennis

courts, outdoor basketball and sand volleyball courts and Willcox

Gymnasium provide ample opportunities for athletics and recre-

ation. In keeping with its commitment to its students, community

and quality campus life, Pace completed construction of the new

75,000-square foot, 17 million dollar Goldstein Health, Fitness

and Recreation Center. The campus offers many living options

ranging from three new townhouse complexes to seven residence

halls.

* NEW YORK CITY -- The New York City campus, located in

lower Manhattan, offers the best of everything that makes New

York special. A short walk from Wall Street and the famous South

Street Seaport, our New York campus stands across the street from

historic City Hall. Nearby public transportation makes commuting

fast and easy. The 650-seat Michael Schimmel Center for the Arts,

located on campus, is the site of acclaimed student productions,

concerts and performers including the Joffrey Ballet, as well as the

new home of the celebrated National Actors Theater.

EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES: Students with a creative

flair and a desire to communicate have no problem finding an out-

let; Pace sponsors two newspapers, two literary magazines, two

radio stations and two yearbooks. Plays, concerts, and perform-

ances by professionals and amateurs also enhance student life.

There is also an active Student Government Association on each

campus.

The New York and Pleasantville campuses each sponsor

several fraternities and sororities. While the emphasis is on good

times and bonding, these organizations also put their energies to

good work by sponsoring community service projects. Pace offers

the opportunity to participate in athletics, either varsity or intramu-

ral. The Setters compete in 17 varsity sports in NCAA Division II.

innings, recording 52 strikeouts.

Catchers

Coach Stabile will rely on the skills of junior

Lauren Bell to make the move from shortstop

to catcher this season. Bell has a solid arm, and

also has a great knowledge of the position.

Another aspect she has displayed is her offen-

sive dominance at the plate. Bell will be Pace’s

everyday catcher with high hopes of posting

solid numbers hitting as she did in 2010. Nicole

Pellegrino will look to contribute in the Setter

lineup as Bell’s backup for the season.

Infield

Corners

Pitchers Shea and Rescigno are also known for

their solid fielding and bats. They will also be

relied on to hold down the first base position

when they aren’t pitching.

Freshman Rachael McMahon looks to be the favorite at third base.

She will see most of the playing time at the hot corner this season.

The freshman has good hands, and strong fielding abilities to take

care of third base. McMahon has solid power at the plate and can

hit the gaps.

Middle

Freshman Lana Buchbinder will be seeing a lot of action at the

short stop position this season. Along with her solid bat, she has a

great arm, and great range for the position. She has a tremendous

ability to hit both fields.

Other players who will be getting time at second base are newcom-

ers Samantha Garcia, and Nicole Pellegrino. Garcia has good range

and solid arm. She will be able to also cover the short stop position

if needed this season. Pellegrino is good defensively, and puts an

outstanding amount of hustle in to her play in the field.

Outfield

Junior Nicole Schultheis and transfer Sabrina Gonzalez will be

looking to see a lot of time in the outfield. Schultheis is coming off

a very productive offensive season, and will continue to be a fixture

in the Setter lineup. She is able to see the ball well, and will see a

lot of playing time in left field. Gonzalez is coming off a great

offensive and defensive sophomore year at Ventura College in

California and will look to fill the center field role. She is able to

cover a lot of ground in the outfield.

Senior Sarah Meleney, freshman Kimberly Duffy, and junior

Angela Calia will be rotating to see time in right field. Meleney

brings a consistent bat to the mix, as well as a strong arm. Both

Duffy and Calia possess good speed, and good gloves in the field.

2011 Season Preview

The Pace University softball team finished the

2010 season with an overall record of 23-27

and 11-19 in the Northeast-10 (NE-10)

Conference. Head Coach Claudia Stabile will

have nine letter winners from last year’s cam-

paign, while adding six newcomers to the

squad this season. Stabile's squad will look to

make it back to the NE-10 Conference

Tournament this year after falling in the open-

ing round of the 2009 tournament.

This season Coach Stabile has a lot of depth

throughout her lineup in terms of fielding and

hitting.

Junior Lauren Bell will look to continue her

strong career at Pace, after a solid offensive

display throughout the 2010 season. She fin-

ished the 2010 campaign hitting .385 (47-for-

122) with eight doubles, eight home runs, 34 RBI’s, 12 walks, and

scored 26 runs. She posted a .648 slugging percentage, an on base

percentage of .445, and a fielding percentage of .951.

Junior Nicole Schultheis will look to improve upon her solid sopho-

more campaign after being named to Northeast-10 Conference Third

Team honors in 2010. Last season, she hit .377 (58-for-154) with six

doubles, 10 RBI’s, nine walks, scoring 32 runs. Schultheis posted a

.416 slugging percentage, an on base percentage of .423, and a field-

ing percentage of .988.

Senior Christina Rescigno had a productive 2010 season both on the

mound and at the dish. Rescigno posted a 4.62 ERA, winning five

games on 85.2 innings pitched, striking out 52 batters. At the plate

she hit .333 (2-for-6) with one double, scoring two runs.

Pitchers

Coach Stabile is excited about her rotation this year with the likes of

senior leader Christina Rescigno, and sophomores Kelly Fisher,

Colby Hochmuth, and Chelsea Shea. Each pitcher is different in

their own way, and they each have something different to bring to

the table for the Setters.

Senior, Christina Rescigno will be the experienced leader of Pace’s

pitching staff this season. Rescigno gained valuable experience in

2010 each starting 17 games and pitching over 85 innings. Rescigno

will be looking to get more innings in 2011 for the Setters.

Sophomores Kelly Fisher, Colby Hochmuth, and Chelsea Shea con-

tinue in the fold in 2011 for additional talent in Pace’s pitching staff.

Hochmuth has good movement to her pitches, while Fisher brings in

a healthy dose of speedy pitches to the staff. Hochmuth and Fisher

will be mostly relied on out of the bullpen, while Shea is seen as a

starter in 2011. Shea is a pitcher that looks for strikeouts and will

look to have batters looking or, out swinging on her pitches. Fisher

appeared in 16 games last season throwing 54.1 innings, recording

38 strikeouts. Hochmuth appeared in 12 games throwing 25 innings,

recording eight strikeouts. Shea started 13 games throwing 99.1

Claudia Stabile has been at the helm of the Pace University softball team since its inceptionin 1982. She has compiled a 538-562-4 (.490) all-time record in her 29 seasons at Pace.

Coach Stabile reached the 500 win milestone on March 28, 2009 in the first half of a dou-ble header with St. Michael’s College. The Setters won the game 5-3.

On April 9, 2004, with a 3-2 win over Bryant University, Coach Stabile tied the all-timewins record for Pace Athletics, matching former baseball head coach Fred Calaiccone'srecord of 398 wins. Coach Stabile would go on to pick up wins 399 and 400 the next day

with a doubleheader sweep of Bentley College.

Coach Stabile has coached two All-Americans, three Academic All-Americans, 51 All-Conference players (30 NE-10, 9NYCAC, 12 Hudson Valley), 22 All-Region honorees, three Pace Female Athletes of the Year and two Pace Letterwinners of theYear.

Coach Stabile guided the Setters to Hudson Valley Conference titles in 1987 and 1988, and the Empire State Conference title in 1989. The Setters advancedto the ECAC Division II championships in 1987, 1988, 1989 and won the title in 2002.

Coach Stabile began her coaching career in 1977 as the head coach of the Bumpers traveling softball team, producing a 140-63 record in five seasons. Shealso coached basketball at White Plains High School, Westchester Community College and SUNY Purchase.A 1980 graduate of Fordham University, Stabile is currently the Dean for Students and Athletics Director at Maria Regina High School.

Now-Allah JamesAssistant Coach

4th SeasonNow-Allah James enters his fourth season as an assistant coach on Coach Stabile’s staff.

James is no stranger to the Pace University athletics department as he is in his fourth season as theEquipment Manager and fifth overall working at Pace as he served one year as the Assistant FacilitiesManager for the Goldstein Fitness Center. James' responsibilities include the inventorying and ordering ofall equipment and uniforms for Pace's 19 varsity sports.

James is also a former Pace University student-athlete as a football letterwinner starting on the Setters' offensive line playing from 1996to 2000. James also served as a graduate assistant for the 2002 season under then head football coach Greg Lusardi.

James has an extensive professional playing career consisting of several years of arena and indoor football experience. Most recently hewas named an All-Star for the New York/New Jersey Revolution of the Great Lakes Indoor Football League in 2006.

James earned his B.S. in Political Science from Pace in 2000 and in 2002 he earned his Master's degree in Public Administration. Jameshas also served as a Residential Director on the Pleasantville campus of Pace University.

THE PACE STORY:

Pace is a university whose resources have played an essential role in the realization of individual dreams of achievementand whose mission is voiced in its motto: Opportunitas.

Founded in 1906 by the Pace brothers as a business school for men and women who aspired to a better life, PaceInstitute began its transformation into a modern university, with emphasis on the liberal arts and sciences, under RobertPace 42 years later. With dynamic leadership and fiscally sound management, Pace has grown into one of the largest uni-versities in New York State, with a multi-million dollar physical plant, an endowment of over $100 million and a reputa-tion for excellent teaching and talented, ambitious graduates.

Pace is a comprehensive university with five schools and one college that offers a wide range of academic and profes-sional programs for a large, diverse population of more than 13,000 students in for-credit programs, and in affiliatedofferings. Through its Lubin School of Business, Pace continues to build its reputation for excellence in business educa-tion. The Lienhard School of Nursing, the School of Law, the School of Education and the Seidenberg School ofComputer Science and Information Systems are more recent responses to the needs of the New York City andWestchester communities for strong professional schools to prepare a well-educated workforce.

The University's decision in 1948 to develop a college of arts and sciences as both an autonomous academic unit and afoundation for the undergraduate core curriculum has strengthened and enriched the educational experience of Pace stu-dents and provided an ongoing source of intellectual enrichment to the University. The Dyson College of Arts andSciences is central to the intellectual life of Pace, to shaping academic priorities, and to providing ethical, humanistic andscientific principles upon which lives and careers are founded.

At the heart of Pace's academic values is an historic commitment to excellence in teaching, as manifested by small class-es, an emphasis on skill development and critical thinking, special tutoring and support services, and academic advising.Academic experiences at Pace emphasize teaching from both a practical and theoretical perspective, drawing upon theexpertise of faculty who balance academic preparation with professional experience to bring a unique dynamic to theclassroom.

While the primary emphasis of the institution is on excellent teaching, the university supports and encourages scholarlyactivity to ensure the intellectual vitality of the faculty. While much of the work has had professional application, Paceparticularly invites scholarship that directly relates to the classroom experience and involves students in the researchprocess.

Pace has always had a student-centered focus and is committed to providing access to those who range widely in age,ethnicity, socio-economic background and academic preparation. Increasing amounts of institutional financial aid to helpstudents meet the growing costs of a private education; locations in New York City and Westchester County; evening,weekend and summer scheduling; and special counseling and academic support services are ways in which the universityhas sought to enhance the accessibility and opportunities of a Pace education.

HISTORY OF PACE UNIVERSITY:

Founded in 1906 by the Pace brothers, Homer and Charles, The Pace Institute was a business school for men and womenwho aspired to a better life.

Homer and Charles Pace borrowed $600 to rent a classroom and office in the old Tribune building in lower Manhattan toteach 10 men and three women the principles of accounting and business law. That building once stood where the PacePlaza building stands today.

Two years later, because of the overwhelming success of the Pace School of Accountancy, the Pace brothers relocated classes tothe nearby Hudson Terminal complex. Another move to the Transportation Building at 225 Broadway took place in 1927 inresponse to continued growth.

In 1948, Pace Institute was approved for college status by the New York Board of Regents. Academic expansion forced yet anoth-er move to 41 Park Row in 1951, and two years later Pace College received authorization from the State Education Department togrant the bachelor of arts degree.

Classes began on the Pleasantville campus in 1963. The year before, the Marks Hall building was signed over to the College byPace Trustee Wayne Marks, President of General Foods, and his wife, Helen. Soon after, Dyson Hall was constructed, named inhonor of alumnus, Trustee and benefactor, Charles H. Dyson. Willcox Hall was named for Trustee and benefactor Byron Willcox.

In 1965, the Undergraduate School of Business Administration, the School of Arts and Sciences and the School of Education wereestablished. The year following, the School of Nursing was founded and was later named after alumnus, Trustee and benefactorGustav Lienhard. In December 1966, at the groundbreaking ceremony for the Civic Center building, Vice President HubertHumphrey promised to teach at Pace and conducted a Scholar-in-Residence seminar at the New York City campus.

Finally, in 1973, the State Education Department approved Pace College's petition for university status. Two years later, theCollege of White Plains consolidated with Pace University, and the School of Law was established in 1976. The assets ofBriarcliff College were acquired in 1977. In the years following, an international education center was opened by IBMCorporation, NYNEX opened a center and the Hastings Center moved its operations to the Briarcliff site. In 1983, the School ofComputer Science and Information Systems was established as its own entity. In 1997, Pace purchased the World Trade Institute, aleading-edge provider of international training programs.

Pace University today is a diverse institution with over 13,000 students. For 100 years, bright, motivated and talented men andwomen have walked out of Pace's many doors, degrees in hand, and have ventured into the world prepared for the challenges ofeach passing decade. Every year, curriculum offerings in schools and colleges are modified to meet the changing needs of ambi-tious and knowledgeable students.

Throughout the years since 1906, Pace has grown along with the talents of those who comprise what is affectionately known asthe "Pace community." The Pace tradition is something in which we can all take pride.

The Ann & Alfred Goldstein Health, Fitness and

Recreation Center is the home of the Pace University athletic

department.

Construction on the Goldstein Fitness Center began on

the Pleasantville campus on March 29, 2001 and was completed

in fall, 2002.

The beautiful facility boasts a 2,400-seat arena, eight-

lane swimming pool, state-of-the-art fitness/weight room, aero-

bics room, walking/jogging track, training facility, concession

stand, VIP room, equipment room, locker rooms, scoreboards

and message center, athletics department offices and offices of

the university's health care unit.

The Goldstein Fitness Center contains 75,000-square

feet of space that is home to five Pace Univeristy athletic teams

(women’s volleyball, men's and women's basketball and men’s

and women’s swimming & diving). The facility also gives Pace

students an opportunity to compete in intramurals and recreation,

aerobics and dance classes in addition to varsity sports.

Memberships for use of the facility are available to fac-

ulty, staff and community members and can be purchased by

calling 914-773-3275 or by stopping by the athletics offices on

the main floor.

JOSEPH O’DONNELLDirector of Athletics

Joe O’Donnell enters his 14th year at Pace as the University’s Director of Athletics.O’Donnell’s responsibilities include the overall management and operation of PaceUniversity’s Division II athletics program that hosts 21 intercollegiate sports. O’Donnellalso oversees the intramural and recreational programs on the University’s Pleasantvilleand Manhattan campuses.

During his time at Pace O’Donnell has overseen the renovation of Howard Johnson Hallon Pace’s Briarcliff campus, which hosts several coaches, meeting rooms, locker roomsand a training room. In addition, Pace also opened the Ann & Alfred Goldstein Health,Fitness & Recreation Center. O’Donnell is also responsible for the initiation of the PaceAthletic Hall of Fame and Setter Club booster organization.

Prior to Pace, O’Donnell held the postion of Director of Athletics at The AmericanUniversity in Washington, D.C. and Assistant Athletic Director at Wichita State Universityin Wichita, Kansas and LaSalle University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He has alsoworked for the Department of Recreation in Philadelphia and was a varsity soccer coachand social studies teacher at Father Judge High School in Philadelphia.

O’Donnell currently resides in Ossining, NY with his wife Marie.

Stephen J. Friedman became president of Pace University on June 4, 2007.

Friedman is a former senior partner at Debevoise & Plimpton LLC, commissioner of theSecurities and Exchange Commission, deputy assistant secretary of the Treasury, execu-tive vice president at The Equitable Companies Incorporated and the E.F. Hutton GroupInc., and U.S. Supreme Court law clerk. He has been an active leader in the nonprofitworld.

Friedman served for three years as dean of Pace University School of Law prior to beingnamed president by the Pace University Board of Trustees. During his tenure as dean, theLaw School’s bar pass rate was the highest in more than a decade; the school’s nationalrankings improved; and in 2006 more than 91 percent of Pace Law School’s recent gradu-ates reported full-time employment within nine months of graduation.

Prior to becoming dean, Friedman was a senior partner at Debevoise & Plimpton LLP,where he served as cochairman of the firm’s corporate department from 1993 to 2000.Before he rejoined Debevoise in 1993, Friedman was executive vice president and generalcounsel of The Equitable Companies Incorporated and its subsidiary, The Equitable LifeAssurance Society of the United States. Before joining Equitable in 1988, Friedman wasexecutive vice president of the E.F. Hutton Group Inc. (1986–1988) and a partner atDebevoise.

Friedman also has served as a commissioner of the Securities and Exchange Commission(1980–1981), deputy assistant secretary of the Treasury for Capital Markets Policy(1978–1979), special assistant to the U.S. Maritime Administrator (1964–1965), and lawclerk to Justice William J. Brennan Jr. of the United States Supreme Court (1963–1964).

Friedman is chairman emeritus of American Ballet Theatre. He also serves as presidentand a trustee of the Practising Law Institute, chairman and trustee of the Asian Universityfor Women Support Foundation, and he is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.In addition, Dean Friedman has served as chairman of the Overseas Development Counciland chairman of the Securities Regulation Committee of the Association of the Bar of theCity of New York and as a member of the ABA Special Committee on Lawyers’ PoliticalContributions. He has served as a board member of CCL Industries Inc., Donaldson,Lufkin & Jenrette, ConRail, The National Association of Securities Dealers, the ChicagoBoard Options Exchange and Foundation, and United Way of New York City.

Friedman received his AB magna cum laude in 1959 from the Woodrow Wilson School ofPublic and International Affairs at Princeton University, and his JD magna cum laude in1962 from Harvard Law School, where he was an editor of Harvard Law Review and arecipient of the Sears Prize.
