    MVLE 40th Anniversary 2011 ANNUAL REPORT 3

We are proud to be celebrating our fortieth anniversary. Forty years ago,MVLE began in a church basement. Today we have multiple facilities and abudget of more than 14 million dollars. More importantly, MVLE has played acritical role in providing employment opportunities and community supportsto more than a thousand individuals with disabilities. We can celebrate thatthroughout the past 40 years we have been in the vanguard providingemployment and community services for individuals with disabilities.

This year, MVLE remained in the forefront by becoming the first non-profitto be accepted in the Department of Defense, Mentor-Prot g with NorthropGrumman Corporation. Through the Mentor-Prot g program, MVLEscapability is growing to create more community employment options throughFederal and commercial business contracts. Too many individuals withdisabilities are unemployed or under employed working less than full timeor earning less than a minimum wage. MVLE is focused on building businessopportunities to lower that unemployment rate and allow us to supportrehabilitation services and therapies for individuals with disabilities.

MVLEs Working Warrior program is focusing on providing training and jobs for wounded soldiers and returning veterans who seek to enter the jobforce (after suffering disabling injuries) while serving our country. We arevery optimistic about the groundwork we have laid to grow our scentedfloral product line. MVLEs scented floral products along with our growingnumber of Federal agencies, local and corporate business contracts andpartnerships are creating the ultimate goal providing independence andautonomy through meaningful, rewarding and salaried jobs for individualswith disabilities.

Experiencing a disability is a natural part of the human experience buthaving a disability in no way diminishes the individuals ability to enjoy self-determination, make choices, contribute to society, pursue meaningful careers, and enjoy full inclusion and integration in the economic and social mainstreamof American Society. MVLE is proud to be on the forefront of this evolution.

Based on what we have accomplished in the past forty years, and with thesupport of our individuals, family members, employees, volunteers and boardmembers the next forty years will be cause for an even bigger celebration.

April Pinch-Keeler, President/CEO Joe Apa, Chairman of the Board
