*Dr. Fiona Bergin is an Assistant Professor in the Faculties of Law and Medicine, Department of Family Medicine, a co-director of the End of Life Project and a half-time faculty member of the Dalhousie Health Law Institute. She has a BA from Acadia University, an LLB from Queen’s University and an MD and LLM from Dalhousie University. She teaches and researches health law and practices family medicine. Her research interests focus on the legal and ethical duties of physicians, and the regulation of human research and health law education in the faculties of Law and Medicine. Dr. Bergin is a past President of the National Health Law Section of the Canadian Bar Association, past Chair of the Policy Subcommittee of the Queen Elizabeth II Health Sciences Centre Clinical Ethics Committee and past member of the Canadian Medical Association Ethics Committee.

Tim Allen, MD, DABEM, MCFP(EM),FRCPC, MA(Ed)Associate Director for Assessment, RCPSCMember, CFPC, Working Group on theCertification Process
Dr. Allen has spent most of his clinical career in Emergency Medicine as a full professor in the Department of Family and
Emergency Medicine at Laval University. From 1998 to 2010 he led a series of working groups at the CFPC that reviewed assessment for certification purposes, leading to the revised CFPC Evaluation Objectives. In 2010 he assumed the position of Associate Director for Assessment at the RCPSC, where he is responsible for all the current certification examinations, as well as planning to respond to evolving needs in assessment of all kinds related to the certification of clinical competence.
