On-Campus Life
Accommodations
Freshmen are typically assigned to double rooms
in traditional co-ed halls.
Casa and Sobrato Halls offer suite style accommodations.
All accommodations are assigned single sex.
New Residence Hall
Mini-suite accommodations for 350 freshmen & sophomores with lounge, kitchen,
& laundry for 30 students in each neighborhood. 3-4 story facility with classrooms
& multi-purpose room built around an inner courtyard. Construction underway,
to be completed Fall, 2012 for your student’s sophomore year.
University Villas Open
1, 2 & 4 bedroom townhome gated community on 5 acres
with green space, outdoor kitchens, and meeting spaces
opens this September for 400+ upperclassmen and will be
available for your student’s junior & senior years.
Technology in the Halls
All halls have both
wired & wireless
network access.
Cable TV service is
provided for use with
student equipment.
A networked printer is
available at each service
desk for resident use.
Hall Security
Exterior building doors locked and accessed with ACCESS card key.
Casa, Sobrato, & Bellarmine use card with PIN for entry into suites.
Cameras at exterior entrances & in elevators.
Residents asked to secure valuables and lock room
door when away from room or sleeping.

We furnish an extra long twin bed, dresser, desk, chair,
& closet. Students may bring any of the following:
Smart Power Strips Insufficient wall outlets
for all items brought to
campus today.
Students experience
electrical overloads.
Only energy saving smart strips are to be used in
the halls. They protect student equipment while
helping us “Go Green”.

If your student meets someone at Orientation within their RLC
they’d like to room with next year, please have them BOTH email
Housing before July 29th before assignments are finalized. We’ll
be happy to match them whenever possible. Otherwise roommates
will be matched according to compatibility answers on their
housing application.

Moving In
Saturday, September 17th
All items should be tagged with name, building, room #. Returning student volunteers help move belongings from sidewalk to room.
One person stays with car during unloading & while student checks in. Car must immediately be moved to allow others to unload.
Get Organized Faire
Vendors offer services here on move-in day such as refrigerator &
microwave rental, laundry, water, cell phone, bank accounts
and more.

Between 9:00pm and the close of The Bronco, residents can order selected items from the menu online to be delivered directly to their residence hall room!

Cadence Cyber Cafe
Convenient for those on the north-end of campus,
this café features lunchtime specials, coffee, tea, and
a chocolate beverage bar.
Cellar Market
On-Campus convenience store with natural and traditional groceries including
fresh produce, snacks, beverages, cooking ingredients, and ready to go salads,
sandwiches, and freshly baked treats.

Resident Dining Plan
• Resident Dining Plans are flexible quarterly
allowance options selected on the Housing contract
for all students living on campus.
•Preferred plan (1,486 points) and Basic plan (1,270
points) tracked on the ACCESS card.
•Allows students to eat anytime, anywhere on
campus.
•Up to 65 unspent points carry over quarter to
quarter. Unspent balance forfeited at end of year
only.
•Save 8.25% over purchases made with cash.
Dining Plus Plan
• Offers 8.25% savings especially designed for commuter
students.
• Also ideal for on-campus residents who run out of Resident
Dining Plan points.
• Deposit anytime, any amount to create plan.
• Valid at all dining locations on campus.
• Unspent balance expires only when student ends enrollment.
Managing Dining Plans
• All cash register receipts show the purchase amount as well as the plan used balance.
• “Pace Yourself” charts next to cash registers show what balance a plan should have to last the remainder of the quarter.
• All transactions are shown online to students logging into the Online Card Office site.
• Balances are also available at any campus Value Transfer Station.

Flex Account The ACCESS Flex Account is accepted at over 200 locations on
campus and in the surrounding area.
Offers cashless spending for books, supplies, laundry, copying,
printing, parking permits, event tickets, library fines, etc.
Students spend $600+ from their Flex Accounts per quarter.
Off Campus Merchants 48 restaurants & stores in the surrounding
area accept Flex Accounts

Go to the ACCESS Online Card Office to make an
instant deposit.
ACCESS Deposits Using
the Bursar Account
Students are allowed to charge their Bursar
Account for replacement of lost cards and for
Dining Plus or Flex Account deposits up to $1,000
per quarter.
These charges will be billed by the Bursar’s
Office with tuition and other fees.
Student must come to the ACCESS Office to
authorize a charge to their Bursar Account.
ACCESS Accounts Are
Not Bank Accounts
•Per Federal Regulations, refunds can only be
made when closing an account at graduation or
withdrawal.
•Students will need a separate bank account in
order to access cash for off campus purposes.
Carrying the Card
• The ACCESS Card Office as well as the Bookstore sell
card holders if your student wants to attach the card
to key chain or lanyard.
• Please tell your student NOT to punch a whole in the
card as that would likely damage the chip embedded
in the card.

Students avoid lines & get first choice of
used and rental books by ordering in
advance.
Ordered books are boxed and shipped or
held for pick up at the Bookstore in the
Benson Memorial Center.
Textbook Rental Program
• Students can save in up front textbook costs by
renting online or in the store for 45% of the cost
of purchasing new.
• Rented books must be returned, in good
condition, by last day of finals. Normal usage,
note taking, and highlighting in rented textbooks
are acceptable.
• Rentals returned damaged or after the due date
will result in a charge to the credit card on file.

online in advance for pick up Welcome Weekend.
