Scintillating

Superstars

Dear Scintillating Superstars,

On your mark! Get set! The horn

blared, I yelled “GO!!!” and grown

women wearing 4” high heels took

off running. WHO DOES STUFF

LIKE THAT??! The IT National Area

does!

If you pulled up to The Race for

Pink September, you were met by

the “CHEERIOS”, you handed over

your shoes to have the heels

measured, you pinned a number on

your back, did stretching exercises

in a parking lot, lined up behind a

pink golf cart with eyelashes, and

joined arms to walk with Flat

Jeanie and Flat Annie. And people

paid an ENTRY FEE to do this!

Top Director Anne Geertson flew

across the country from Eugene,

Oregon to join us and train us and

remind us that this is what it must

have felt like to be in Mary

Kay’s presence. She

joined a line up of

extraordinary women

who have come in for our

September event. (Eileen

Huffman, Kendra Cross,

Pam Garner Moore, Shelly

Palin, Glinda McGuire,

Kristin Myers, Dorothy

Boyd and Anne)

Each has made a difference in how we

work and think about our Mary Kay

business.

There was a PINK PURSE won, a jeweled

high heel trophy presented and an

unbelievable sum of $1300 collected to

donate to the Mary Kay Charitable

Foundation. This is almost twice what we

collected last year. The money will be

used for cancer research and against

domestic violence. It doesn’t get much

better than this.

Every year at this event, I stand in front of

the group and say, “I wonder what other

women are doing on a Saturday morning?

Do you think they’re having this much

fun?” And I know that I wouldn’t want to

change places. For the It National Area

there’s a whole lot more to Mary Kay

than selling lipstick.

As always,
