1) Why is magne c ltra on a value? Quality magne c lters are capable of ltering to submicron levels without ow restric on and are reusable for 10+ years. The most damaging contaminant in engine lube, hydraulic uid, fuel and coolant is ferrous metal under 10 microns.

2) How do you collect non ferrous contamina on on a magne c lter? Through sta c adhesion caused by sta c charge build up with the high ow uids and or gases.

3) What types of magne c lters are there? The most common are ceramic and have been used to lter oil and uids for the past 50 years. The new magne c lters use rare earth magnets in the magne c lters.

4) What is the di erence between ceramic and rare earth magne c? Ceramics are low in magne c strength and will crack and disassemble when exposed to vibra on. They also lose their magne c eld strength when exposed to high heat. Exposed ceramic is also very hard to clean.

Rare earth magnets are 4 mes stronger than ceramic magnets and handle high heat without losing eld strength and are highly resistant to vibra on. They are coated and do not crack. They are installed in stainless steel tubes and retain their strength and clean very easily.

5) What are the advantages of OEI magne c lters? OEI magne c lters are manufactured with our patented design and are 12 mes stronger than ceramic magnet

lters and are encased in stainless steel tubes in a patented format that creates powerful projected radial elds that have larger surface area than tradi onal magne c lters rods.

6) How do you clean a magne c lter rod? The OEI magne c lter rod design has no magne c eld at the end thereby you slide the contamina on down to the end and it falls o .

7) What do you do with contamina on collected?It is recommended to have the trapped contamina on analyzed for wear debris iden ca on. The magne c lter

becomes a predic ve maintenance tool.

10) What happens if you remove all the metal out of oil? Our magne c lters remove the ferrous and in many applica ons the non ferrous contamina on to submicron levels due to sta c adhesion but you will never remove all the metal as it is produced by moving metal parts, new oils and uids are contaminated with metal and air ingression contaminates the system with ne metal par cles under 10 microns. If you are tracking the contamina on levels through oil analysis and install magne c lters you will simply drop your bench mark levels much lower. The less hard metals results in less wear thereby extended component and uid/oil life.

11) How long do magne c lters last? OEI magne c lters have a 10+ year life.

The generation of ferrous contaminants in most hydraulic and lube systems due

to both normal and abnormal wear is a fact of life. Knowing the amount and

type of wear particles in the fl uid system is paramount to avoiding unscheduled

outages. Standard fi lter elements will capture any type of particulate contami-

nation, ferrous and non-ferrous, within their media matrix according to their

micron rating. Identifi cation of the contamination captured typically requires

off-site laboratory analyses.

Built-in magnetic fi lter cores can capture ferrous contaminants in fl uid systems,

down to < 1 μm, before they reach the actual fi lter, thus providing an excel-

lent diagnostic tool for contamination monitoring and proactive maintenance.

Due to static adhesion, the cores can also retain some of the non-ferrous

contaminants. By simply removing the magnetic core and examining the

contamination retained on it under a microscope, reliability and maintenance

engineers across many industries now have a valuable tool for identifying

potential wear-related issues before they become a real problem.

Industry has been reluctant to employ magnetic filtration due to years of exposure to ineffective design and limited magnetic ability. Recent technological advances in magnetic properties and manufacturing processes have resulted in smaller, stronger high tech magnets available that allow innovative new designs for filtration systems and dramatically improving traditional magnetic filtration.

Industry research states “Iron and Steel” particles under 10 microns in size are the most damaging contaminants in air compression, water, lubrication, hydraulic fluid, coolant and fuel systems. The rate at which contamination enters these systems is greatly underestimated and understated. Likewise, the effectiveness of traditional filters at removing metal contaminants is greatly overstated. Magnetic filtration has practical and beneficial applications for all industry: chemical processing, oil & gas refining, manufacturing, construction equipment, transportation, marine and pulp & paper.

Our first line: reusable magnetic filters that compliment and work with existing disposable filters. They attach to the outer skin, extract and trap contaminants to the interior filter skin.

Our second line: magnetic rods and scrubber filters install in-tank, or inline. They offer maximum filtration, no bypassing with minimal flow restriction, low & high- pressure applications with ten plus years of service.

Our third line: the ADD-Vantage 9000 series are heavy-duty reusable stainless screen filters equipped with an internal magnetic filter and an internal fail-safe by-pass. When the bypass is activated the fluid is still filtered by the magnetic filter. They are environmentally friendly with ten plus years of service.

All our products offer long life, are user friendly, easily cleaned, reusable and maintained with minimal effort and cost. Cleaner fuel and lubricants for all applications in industry will result in reduced maintenance costs and increased productivity. Why Filter Ferrous Contaminants?Removal of ferrous contaminants (iron, steel, etc) will dramatically reduce the damaging wear cycle, extending the life, the fluids and equipment.Studies show ferrous particles smaller than 10 microns will generate 3 to 5 times more wear than larger particles.Equipment is being manufactured with tighter tolerances causing a demand for higher filtration requirements to sub-micron levels. Magne c Li 1MAGLIFT

The Mag-Li tool has a holding strength of 26 lbs (12Kg) and is used for extrac ng pistons from pumps and other ferrous parts during tear down of equipment and assist in the rebuild by replacing parts. Available in custom sizes and handle lengths.

The “Yard-Master” handles the toughest scrap metal problems and reduces costly re damage & personal injury. Designed with OEI’s patented magne c technology that allows the magne c sweeper to oat over the ground while keeping constant contact with the ground extrac ng debris such as nails, screws, staples, banding, iron chips under the ground surface that become exposed under the pressure of a re.

The Yard-Master is constructed with high quality air lled 6” res for ease of maneuvering, available in 3

lengths 12” for shop, 32” for shop or small yards and 42” and custom sizes for yard use. The magne c sweeper is easily removed from the carrier for cleaning, simply place over a refuge receptacle and wipe clean with a heavy cloth or gloved hand.

2000/2500/3000 Series Magnetic Filter Rods are designed to be installed in reservoirs, gear boxes, filter elements, pipe lines and more. These Magnetic Filters will trap ferrous contaminants and non-ferrous contaminates (by static adhesion) to sub micron levels. Available in a variety of magnetic filter rod sizes and fasteners.

OEI manufactures all our Magnetic Filter Rods with 304/316 Stainless Steel Tubing (Monel and other Stainless grades are available). Rare Earth Magnets are installed in our patented method that creates the most powerful non-electric magnetic fields available. For filtration of Ferrous and Nonferrous (hydro statically charged) contamination down to sub-micron levels in all fluids, gases, chips and powders etc. Designed to be user friendly (easily cleaned) long life (10+ years) of service, custom designs are welcome.

The magne c sweeper is a tool with numerous applica ons. Designed with a exible handle a ached to a raised magne c lter rod. This tool is used for cleaning new hydraulic uid, lube oil, water, coolant and chemicals stored in steel reservoirs of welding and grinding slag. Other applica ons are: cleaning open bearing lube oil reservoirs, cleaning the bo om reservoirs of all manner of milling and C&C machines. Extrac ng ferrous contaminants to sub micron levels from uids contained in storage reservoirs.

Designed to be used like a broom with a exible long reach handle it cleans work area oors and tables and hard to reach areas under equipment and more. Cleaning the magne c lter is simply executed by wiping it with a cloth.

Introducing the OEI Dual Fuel Gas ltra on system. Incor-pora ng a magne c separator as the primary lter and a pleated stainless steel cloth element as the nal lter.

This environmentally friendly design will lter black pow-der contamina on to submicron levels at an es mated 95+ e cency. This will signi cantly improve the burn and reduce the acid wear of the pistons and spark plugs.

The magne c separators have a 5+ years opera onal life and the cleanable stainless steel cloth lter elements have a 3 to 5+ years opera onal life.

OEI’s Magnetic Drum Filter is designed to be placed in the fluid flow. The fluids make contact with the drum, the metal finds are trapped on the drum the fluid flows under and around the drum. A scraper removes the metal finds and drops them onto a conveyor to a storage container. The drive unit can be operated by electric, pneumatic or hydraulics. Custom sizes are available, and drive units are sup-plied upon request.

The VFTFS ltra on system is designed to lter ferrous contaminants to sub micron levels from used heavy open gear oil thereby allowing two or more cycles of use. This will drama cally reduce consump on and cost with the added bene t of reducing your environmental footprint.

Filtra on is realized a er the heavy lube oil is heated (cSt @ 40C=1740) and pumped from the drum through our powerful magne c lter and into a clean drum for reuse. This process allows for over 95% of the used oil to be recovered for reuse. The magne c lter is designed to remove the ferrous contamina on with minimal ow restric on. Cleaning the magne c lter element is simply executed by wiping it with a cloth.

The system employs a pneuma c pump mounted with a follower plate that forces the heated oil out of the drum through the lter and into the clean oil drum. This system is suitable for a drum lid diameter between 21" to 23.8", follower plate suitable for drum dia. between 21.8" to 22.8" and ancillary ngs.

The prime func on of the OEI Regrind Mill Hydrosta c Li Lube System (HLS) is to lubricate the bearing during the three cri cal periods encountered during start-up and shut-down of the mill. The HLS should be operated during normal mill opera on to maintain oil cleanliness and compliment the exis ng internal lubrica on system for the bearing. One HLS system is required for each bearing.

Start-up is the cri cal period because of the fric onal wear and stress developed prior to the forma on of an adequate hydrodynamic oil lm on the bearing surfaces.

The HLS is designed to oat the mill on a lm of oil which is introduced under high pressure (3000psi) at the center of the load area of the bearing. A sa sfactory oil lm is thereby established prior to start-up and during the cri cal period following start-up. The HLS will maintain an ample lubricant lm throughout the cri cal periods of opera on such as an unbalanced load (rock) and thermal expansion and the cooling o period.

The HLS is equipped with state of the art environmentally friendly ltra on to ensure protec on from premature wear of the en re system by maintaining a high level of oil cleanliness. The oil is ltered by a patented magne c lter installed prior to the pump to protect the pump and again by the ADD-Vantage 9000 a er the pump allowing ltra on to submicron levels. The HLS is housed in a cabinet enclosure for protec on from the harsh environment of the plant with quick connec ons for easy install and replace-ment for maintenance. Pressure gauges are visible at all mes and remote monitoring op onal.

The exclusive remedy for breach of this warranty is replacement of any product which the buyer, within the warranty period, has notified the Seller in writing to be defective, and which the Seller has determined to be defective. If the buyer has submitted a warranty registration card for the product, the notice of the defect must include a proof of purchase. The Buyer will be responsible for all costs of shipment of replacement parts. In no event will the Seller’s liability for any damage exceed the purchase price of the product. SELLER WILL NOT BE LIABLE TO THE BUYER FOR ANY INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR SPECIAL DAMAGES INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, LOST REVENUES OR PROFITS, EXPENSES RELATED TO TRAVEL, AND LOSS DUE TO PERSONAL INJURY. The sole purpose of the stipulated remedy shall be to provide the Buyer with free replacement of defective parts in the manner provided herein. This exclusive remedy shall not be deemed to have failed of its essential purpose so long as the Seller is willing and able to replace defective parts in the prescribed manner. SUCH WARRANTY IS EXTENDED ONLY TO THE ORIGINAL BUYER OF THE FILTER MASTER AND DOES NOT EXTEND TO A REPURCHASER OF THE PRODUCT. THE WARRANTIES IN THIS AGREEMENT ARE IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, ANY WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND SUCH OTHER WARRANTIES ARE EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMED.
