HANDLE-FREE KITCHENS - A TIMELESSCLASSIC OFFERS MANY ADVANTAGES

Modern kitchens are dominated by c leanlines and sleek surfaces. This conceptfocuses on the essentials. Nothing shouldinterrupt the elegant and linear fronts. Toachieve this, handles have been banishedfrom the kitchen.

Of course, handle-free kitchens are notreally without handles. Instead of surface-mounted or screwed on handles and bar

handles, or even routed handle groovesin the front surface, the so-called classical“handleless” kitchens have silver-coloured,stainless steel coloured or coloured lacquerhandle recesses made of light metalincorporated on the carcase elementswhich make it possible to grasp behind theunit fronts. The front edges are shapedaccordingly to ensure an excellent grip.

A particular advantage: The grippingedge functions along the entire width of

the cabinet, guaranteeing quick and safeopening from any position. And it goeswithout saying that the cabinets are alsoeasier to c lean without handles or bars onthe front. Moreover, it is no longer possibleto hurt yourself on protruding handles.

Above all however, the front appearstimelessly elegant. The fronts uninterruptedby visible handle elements are particularly

shown to their best in modern kitchenplanning schemes with enhancement (dueto the extra wide pull-outs and slender topunit hinges) of the horizontal lines. Adjacenttall units with storage space orfittedappliances have the effec t of interesting,timelessly plain wa ll cladding owing to thelack of handles.

Front description

The fronts of the Saphir model series are made of rear coa ted white g lass (ESG, 3 mm)and a 16 mm thick PVC coated mounting plate. The c ircumferential high gloss edgesmatch the front colour.

Special planning features

Only the permanentlyfixed strip handle 890 ca n be used with the Saphir model series. The following strip handle can only be mounted ex factory and horizontally. Alternativehandle options are not availab le for this model. Spec ial planning instructions as well as acorresponding type selection are to be considered in accordance with the current typelist.

For all Saphir Akzent models a spec ial parts assortment is ava ilable. The individual typesserve as design e lements in a design-oriented kitchen planning. The fronts are made ofrear lac quered a nd/or printed white glass (ESG, 3 mm) and a 16 mm thick PVC coatedmounting p late. Exclusively handle strip 890 already mounted on our premises will beused.

Visual features of glass frontsAll the materials used for glass products have inherent co lours due to the raw materials. And the thicker the product,the more visible these co lours may be. Coated g lass is used for functional purposes. Coated glass also has aninherent colour. This inherent co lour can appea r different when viewed from various angles. Varying c olours arepossible and cannot be avoided due to the iron oxide content of the glass, the coating process, the actual coating,various thicknesses and the design.

Wall unit suspensionAll wall units are equippedwith a particularly com-

pac t and sturdy suspensiondevice. The constructionproves to be extremelyinstallation-friendly. Themetal installation strip ispart of standard delivery.

Carcase The decor matching frontedge of the fixed and

height-adjustable carcaseshelves is produced with athick edge made of ABS.Easy to survey and clea ndue to the bright, neutraldecor inside the carcase.

The height-adjustableca binet shelves 18 mm aretilt resistant (2-fold).

Heights of cabinetsErgonomics is the solution for the op timum planning ofa kitchen. Permanent stretching overstrains the spinalcolumn, so does frequent bending down as well. There-fore everything in the kitchen should be easily ac cessible.Individually fitted heights of cabinets are the solution. Sothere will be no uncomfortable working any longer.

Plinth system The plinth height is either 8,10, 13.5, 18.5 or 23.5 cm atyour choice and can be

combined with standardor maxi carcase height.Base units and tall units areequipped with height adju-stable plinth feet. As a con-sequence the units can beexactly adapted to eachfloor. The plinth pane ls areequipped with an insertedU-shaped p rofile.

Worktops The 4 cm strong worktopsare covered with a highquality laminated surface.

A big decor and edgingrange a s well as lots ofdifferent shapes (with adepth of 60-120 cm) tomeet everyone’s taste.Corner joints are producedby means of countersin-king and special screwedfittings.

Drawers and pull-outs withfull extension technology The silver coloured drawersand p ull-outs ca n be pulledout completely, so thatcontents are completelyvisible. Due to the specialguides, a quiet, easy truerun-out of the drawer in frontof the carcase is ensured.Add itionally, the spec ial„Arc iTec h Plu s“ and the„G la sSid e “ pull-out versionwith glass sides sections inadd ition to „Top Side “ withmetal side sections can beincorporated at the factoryat an extra charge.

Fitting for pivoting doorsWall units with pivotingupward front are available

in 70 cm height withfurniture door (60 cm) orwith g lass door (60+90cm). When the cab inetis opened the upperprojecting end is 20 cm.

The assembly of a corniceor support pane l is notpossible on this cabinet.

Optimum silencing The permanently elasticdoor profile „Softline“ is

grooved into the frontedge of the c arcase at allsides and glued firmly.

The profile is an acc essory,available at a dditionalcosts. The installation willonly be made ex factory.In the case of someca binet types the Softlineprofile cannot be used dueto technical reasons.

Fitting for lift-up doorsCabinets with lift-up doorswith 95° hinges are produ-

ced with a new very spe-cial fitting. The techniqueassures a safe and durablefunction. Beside the wa llunits with 95° opening anew type of 107° (executi-on HK) high flap fitting withdoor damping and infinitestop func tion is being de-veloped.

MP-SL

Hinges These all metal „Clip top“hinges 107° are c harac -

terised by high durability. The mounting plate, also inmetal, issecurely anchoredin the carcase side andprovides the hinge with anextemely firm hold. Three-dimensional adjustabilityallows precise adjustmentof the fronts.

Special door elements„Clip top“ hinges canbe equipped with theparticularly developed

„Blumotion“ door profile asan option. High technology

for a smooth and gentleclosing of p ivoting doors.

edge. An adapter between the

L and C p rofile is not available.

Therefore, it is recommended

to also plan a support panel.

gripping edges.
