In 2008 our Eastridge family began

a partnership with the indigenous

Mayan families of Pulay, Guatemala

facilitated by Food for the Hungry.

Many of you track

with what is hap-

pening there

through sponsoring

a child, praying for

the development

work or serving with

our teams travelling

there each year.

This year‟s team will

travel to Pulay on

July 31, and will be

teaching the com-

munity the importance of using pure

water for drinking and processing

food, as well as washing and brush-

ing teeth. The team will demon-

strate how to set up

a Sawyer Water Fil-

tration System, and

how to clean the filter

to prolong its useful-

ness. They will also

discuss storage of

pure water in larger

containers.

These Sawyer Water

Filters are being pur-

chased through Eas-

tridge Church and

Food for the Hungry at a huge dis-

count and each filter will provide a

family in Pulay with up to 500 gal-

lons of pure water each day.

Our friends in Pulay have badly

contaminated water which dramati-

cally affects their health, especially

for the young children. Visit our dis-

play in the church lobby for more

information on the needs of the

community of Pulay, Guatemala

and watch for “PURE WATER DAY”

coming this spring at Eastridge!
