WWF publicly expressed our deep disappointment with the Environmental Impact Assessment report for the airport’s Third Runway project. We submitted a report to the Environmental Protection Department listing numerous concerns about the potential impacts of the projects on our Chinese white dolphin population and the wider marine ecology, including the fact that a proposed new marine park will be put in “the wrong location at the wrong time” and that proposed on-site mitigation measures will be highly ineffective.

A WWF petition encouraging people to speak up against rampant development in Hong Kong’s Country Park enclaves saw more than 9,000 letters sent to the Town Planning Board. In August 2014, the Board decided to reduce the area zoned for village development in three enclaves and decreased the size of development zones in other enclaves.

WWF-Hong Kong welcomed the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department (AFCD)’s declaration that it will designate the Southwest Lantau Marine Park and Soko Islands Marine Park by early 2017. While this is a solid first step to preserving Hong Kong’s Chinese white dolphins, more measures are needed to protect this valuable species. The two marine parks should be expanded to cover the entire core habitat of the dolphins in West Lantau and linked with the existing Sha Chau and Lung Kwu Chau Marine Parks.

The latest figures for Hong Kong’s Ecological Footprint were released by WWF, showing that the problem of natural resource over-consumption is very serious in Hong Kong: our huge “ecological deficit” – the difference between our per capita Ecological Footprint and our available biocapacity – ranks first in Asia. If everybody on the planet consumed natural resources at the same rate as we do in Hong Kong, we would require 3.1 Earths to fulfil our needs.

1,720,296港元善款。

The 23rd Walk for Nature, with the theme “Preserving Mai Po: Hong Kong’s Ecological Asset” raised HK$1,720,296 for WWF’s conservation and education work, attracting over 2,200 participants.

本會首次針對香港飲食業的魚翅供應進行調查,成功獲154間食肆回應,結果顯

示2013年的魚翅消耗量比2012年下跌百分之47,逾半受訪者預計香港的魚翅消

耗量將持續下降。

This year, we conducted the first-ever Shark Fin Consumption Survey of caterers in Hong Kong. We received responses from 154 catering outlets. The results showed that shark fin consumption volume dropped by 47 per cent in 2013 when compared to 2012. Additionally, over 55 per cent of respondents predicted that local shark fin consumption would continue its declining trend.

顯示,在2013至2014年度獲頒LCMP標籤認證的25間企業合共避免超過48,500噸碳排放,相等於節省港幣7,500萬元的電費支出。獲頒LOOP標籤認證的企業

共32間,員工共7,161人,人均碳排放量為2.98噸,數字較2012至2013年度減少

百分之14。

The LCMP and LOOP reports were released. The LCMP report found that the 25 LCMP-accredited companies in 2013-2014 cumulatively reduced their carbon emissions by than 48,500 tonnes in 2013-2014, equivalent to a HK$75 million cut in electricity usage. Meanwhile, 32 companies received labels from the LOOP. Collectively, these companies employed 7,161 staff and had an average per employee carbon emission figure of 2.98 tonnes, a reduction of 14 per cent compared to the previous year.

The government’s Census and Statistics Department incorporated a range of WWF’s recommendations as they work to improve the existing trade record system for shark fin and fish maw. The adoption of our recommendations will enable improved monitoring of the cross-border trade of these products.

The Big Bird Race was held in mid-January. The Race attracted 85 participants from 16 local and overseas teams who competed for several prizes. The Deadset Drongos, a new team, won the championship by recording 157 bird species over the course of the 12-hour race. The Race raised over HK$750,000 which was used to conduct urgent repairs on bird hides at Mai Po Nature Reserve.

To create deeper engagement with the public ahead of Earth Hour in terms of how our lifestyles affect the environment, WWF began planning the “Refurnishing Nature” Exhibition in February, showing us that natural resources such as timber are extremely important to our planet.

3 / 2015香港再次參與「地球一小時」,數以千計市民、超過3,900間公司及大廈、

全港所有大學及超過300間中、小學,及多個地標建築物同時響應晚上8時半的熄燈行動。本會更於西九龍海濱長廊同步舉行首屆慈善跑「跑出未

來」。是項夜跑賽事共吸引逾2,600名健兒參與,為本會保育及教育項目

籌得超過96萬港元善款。

Hong Kong once again celebrated Earth Hour. Thousands of people, over 3,900 companies and buildings, all Hong Kong universities, over 300 primary and secondary schools and numerous landmarks across the city grew dark for the “lights out” hour at 8:30pm.At the same time on the same day, Run for Change, WWF-Hong Kong’s first-ever charity run, was held on the West Kowloon waterfront. This spectacular inaugural night run attracted over 2,600 participants and raised over HK$965,000 for WWF’s conservation and education work.

在香港的首個紀錄。今年米埔春季遷徙的狀況良好,幾個雀鳥品種如斑尾

塍鷸及鷗嘴噪鷗的數目都錄得新高。

On 19 April, for the first time ever in Hong Kong, a Buff-breasted Sandpiper was found at a high-tide waterbird roost at Mai Po Nature Reserve. This is the first time the species has ever been sighted in Hong Kong. The spring migration at Mai Po was exceptionally productive this year, with new Hong Kong high counts being set for several species such as the Bar-tailed Godwit and the Gull-billed Tern.

「育養海岸」計劃踏入第二年,啟動

禮上公布了首年度初步調查統計。在

計劃涵蓋的育養地點中,塑膠的比例佔岸上生境海洋垃圾中平均約六成,

而在海上垃圾中,塑膠的比例更超過八成。

Coastal Watch, the hugely successful programme run by WWF and six strategic partner organizations entered its second year. At the kick-off ceremony, the preliminary survey results of the first year were re-leased, showing that plastic constituted an average of 60 per cent of the litter collected on the project’s land-based sites, and made up over 80 per cent of the floating litter.

本會於6月27日至7月5日舉行「環保海鮮週」。我們與本港114間食肆合

作,向市民推廣和提供更多環保海鮮選擇,參與食肆的環保海鮮銷售量在

活動期間平均上升百分之31.4。

WWF’s Sustainable Seafood Week ran from 27 June to 5 July 2015. WWF partnered with 114 restaurants to popularize and bring sustainable seafood to people from all walks of life across Hong Kong. The week was a great success, with sales of sustain-able seafood at participating outlets increased by an average of 31.4 per cent.

5 / 2015本會一直致力與船運公司合作,制定限載魚翅運載政策,以進一

步減少本港的魚翅貿易。5月18日,商船三井(MOL Liner Ltd .)

於網站上公布禁運魚翅。

WWF-Hong Kong has been working with shipping companies to put in place restrictive shark fin carriage policy, in order to further reduce shark fin trade. On 18 May, MOL Liner announced on their website that they would place a ban on shark fin shipment.

5月22日為聯合國訂立的國際生物多樣性日,本會於同日正式展開為期兩

年的「香港濕地生物多樣性普查」。承蒙香港上海�豐銀行有限公司的慷慨

捐助,令計劃得以順利進行。

On 22 May, the United Nations’ International Day for Biological Diversity, WWF officially launched a two-year project called “Discovering Biodiversity in Hong Kong Wetlands”. The project was made possible through the generous support of The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited (HSBC).

主席的話CHAIRMAN'S MESSAGE

時光飛逝,我接任世界自然基金會香港分會董事委員

會主席已一年。過去12個月,我與團隊埋首於各項保

育工作,同時,大自然亦隨著既有節奏變更,誠如四

季更迭、葉落花開,萬物各有其序。本會一直積極拉

近人類和大自然的步伐,讓兩者之間的關係更緊密,

我能夠參與其中,實在深感自豪,同時亦為去年取得

的豐碩成果感到鼓舞。

本會自1984年開始管理生態價值極高的米埔自然保護

區,米埔為本地雀鳥及各地候鳥提供棲息地,亦對我

們本年度的保育工作至關重要。2015年,我們在區內

發現鷺鳥林,當中至少有123對大白鷺及62對夜鷺,

距上次發現已超過20年,再次證明「雀鳥天堂」的美譽

名不虛傳。

同年3月,感謝�豐的慷慨捐助,我們展開為期兩年的

「香港濕地生物多樣性普查」。這是一項深入的大型

生態調查,一眾「公民科學家」在米埔搜集最新數據,

並整合歷年生態資料,歸納生物數量走勢,找出物種

數量改變的原因。由市民、師生以至專家等人組成的

「公民科學家」在調查過程�培養出濃厚學習氣氛,汲

取生物多樣性相關知識,經驗寶貴。

為進一步確立並提升米埔作為地區濕地保育卓越重心

的地位,本會尋求多方面合作,香港賽馬會慈善信託

基金為我們其中一個重要合作夥伴,多年來大力支持

本會各保育教育活動,特別感謝基金最近承諾於未來

五年資助本會提升米埔自然保護區的基建設施,讓我

們得以達成上述目標。我們將與基金密切溝通,讓持

分者了解區內發展的最新動向。

米埔以外,保育瀕危的中華白海豚亦是本會關注議

題。在最新的 Safe Haven 計劃,我們期望於本港水

域建設完整的海岸保護區(MPAs)網絡,配合全面管

理,保護海豚棲息地。有助於各方力量,有望於2019年前取得成功。2015年7月至12月,我們試行「觀豚導

賞服務先導計劃」,與願意遵守觀豚守則的營運商合

辦觀豚活動,為旅客提供生態導賞,加深公眾對海豚

現況的認知。

憑著持續創新及各界支持,本會將繼續努力推動香港

成為亞洲最可持續發展的城市,建立人類與大自然和

諧共存的未來—一個所有人都願意放慢節奏,享受與

自然同步的時刻。

WWF-Hong Kong has always been committed to conserving Hong Kong’s environment and its many species and habitats. In our quest to create a future in which humans live in harmony with nature, we are dedicated to increasing public awareness of crucial environmental issues which directly affect the long-term sustainability of our environment and future generations of Hong Kong people.

This year saw WWF initiate an unprecedented number of public engagement exercises. One of the most significant was our “Shape Up” project, designed to create support for our “Hong Kong Energy Vision 2050” policy, outlining how the government can create a healthier electricity market which uses energy saving policies and demand-side management in tandem with renewable electricity sources to reduce our city’s carbon emissions and electricity consumption.

Our multidimensional approach created maximum public exposure: we published the Vision 2050 policy, ran a survey on renewable energy devices and launched a petition urging the government to take renewable energy and demand-side management into account when reviewing the Scheme of Control Agreements with the power utility companies. Each approach created significant media coverage, with the petition collecting more than 4,500 signatures.

In late June 2015, WWF ran our second Sustainable Seafood Week campaign aiming to make sustainable seafood more popular and accessible to Hong Kong people. The campaign was a big success – we partnered with 114 outlets in total: restaurants and hotels, and for the first time ever, Chinese restaurants and Hong Kong fast food chains. We remain committed to making sustainable seafood accessible to everyone in Hong Kong through campaigns like this and through our partnerships with the local catering industry and international hotel chains. This widespread engagement will influence fishing and aquaculture practices across Asia and eventually make the industry much more sustainable.

WWF’s nine-year public campaign to reduce demand and supply of shark fin continued to grow in popularity this year. Focusing on the logistics sector, we increased our engagement with shipping companies by asking them to adhere to a restrictive shark fin carriage policy. In May 2015, MOL Liner Ltd. announced a ban on shark fin shipments and we expect other companies to follow their lead in 2016. As we continue to engage stakeholders from across society, we anticipate that both the shipping and consumption of shark fin in Hong Kong will continue to decrease.

We relish the fact that our efforts to engage the public have produced so many conservation successes over the years. Rest assured that WWF will continue to work harder than ever to get everyone involved in creating a sustainable city for all of us!

I find it hard to believe that I have already been in my role as Chairman of WWF-Hong Kong for a year. For me, the last twelve months have passed by in a whirlwind of activity. Outside my window though, the natural world experiences time at its own pace: leaves fall and grow anew as the seasons change, while the rain starts and stops and starts again. This type of disconnect between humanity and nature is something that WWF is working hard to restore, and I am pleased and proud to be part of this work. I am also amazed by the number of conservation achievements we have made over the past twelve months.

Mai Po Nature Reserve, the abundantly biodiverse wetland managed by WWF since 1984, played a vital role in WWF’s conservation strategy this year, providing sanctuary and habitat for both local birds and migratory birds from around Asia. For the first time in more than 20 years, an egretry was discovered here, with at least breeding 123 pairs of Great egrets and 62 pairs of Black-crowned night herons – proving once again that Mai Po is a magnet for birds of all kinds.

In March 2015, we launched a two-year project called “Discovering Biodiversity in Hong Kong Wetlands”, made possible through the generosity of HSBC. This ambitious project harnesses the power of citizen scientists who conduct in-depth studies around Mai Po, gathering up-to-date information and consolidating past data to establish trends and find the root causes of changes in wildlife populations. The participants – members of the public, students and volunteer experts – also gain valuable biodiversity knowledge, creating a positive spiral of learning for everyone.

WWF intends to continue devising and running innovative and impactful programmes like these by working closely with different stakeholders from all sectors of Hong Kong society. One such partner is The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, an organization which has continuously supported our conservation education programmes. We are especially grateful to the Trust for their recent decision to generously fund the upgrade of infrastructure at Mai Po Nature Reserve over the next five years. This substantial commitment will help redefine and uplift the role of Mai Po Nature Reserve as a Centre of Excellence for wetland conservation in the region. As this redevelopment takes shape, we will work closely with Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust to communicate the latest developments to all our stakeholders.

Outside of Mai Po, other areas and species around Hong Kong are in dire need of conservation. Our beloved and besieged Chinese white dolphin is desperate for assistance. WWF’s new “Safe Haven” project envisages a network of Marine Projected Areas and a comprehensive management plan for Hong Kong waters which will save the dolphins. With sufficient support and effort, such a network can be in place by 2019.In 2015, we also sought to further deepen public understanding of the dolphins’ plight through our “Tai O Dolphin Watching Interpreter Pilot Programme”, which provides dolphin watching tour guide services to tourists in tandem with tour boat operators willing to follow a “dolphin watching code of conduct”. The trial period for the programme will run until December 2015.

Through innovation and the support of people from across Hong Kong and beyond, WWF will continue to transform Hong Kong into the most sustainable city in Asia and build a future in which humans live in harmony with nature. A future where, perhaps, time passes a little more slowly and gently.

包括豐饒的物種及其棲息地。為了建立人類與大自

然和諧共存的未來,我們積極提升公眾對重要環境

議題的意識,以確保我們的環境達致可持續發展,

本年度,本會發起多項公眾參與活動,其中一個重

點項目是「Keep Fit吧!電力市場」。項目進一步支

持本會發表的「香港2050能源願景」,提倡政府透過

推行節能及需求管理,增加可再生能源為發電燃料,

藉此減低香港的碳排放量和用電量,締造更健康

全港共114間餐廳食店提供環保海鮮,除餐廳和酒店

外,今年更首度有中式食肆及連鎖快餐店參與。未

來,我們將繼續與本地餐飲業和國際連鎖酒店緊密

合作,讓大家更容易購買環保海鮮。我們堅信,個

人力量意義深遠,廣泛的社會參與將影響亞洲地區

的漁業捕撈及養殖方式,更能推動業界邁向可持續

發展。

另一邊廂,本會減低魚翅供應及需求已踏入第九

年。本年度,我們加強與物流業界合作,繼續主

動遊說船運公司制定限載魚翅政策。商船三井於

2015年5月宣佈停運魚翅,預期2016年會有更多

船運公司加入。本會將繼續動員社會各界參與,

我們深信,本港的魚翅運輸量和消耗量會持續下

降。

多年來,我們積極推動公眾參與保育,成效顯彰。

未來,本會將加倍努力,團結各持分者,集合社會

力量,攜手建設可持續發展的香港。

拯救大堡礁RESTORING THE HEALTH OF THE GREAT BARRIER REEF2015年,世界自然基金會向聯合國教科文組織(UNESCO)

世界遺產委員會遞交來自177個國家超過50萬個市民簽名,

要求把大堡礁列入「世界瀕危遺產」。傾倒廢料、非法捕

漁、海岸發展及氣候變化等人類活動或影響,正嚴重威脅許

多棲息於大堡礁的物種,例如珊瑚、海草、海龜、儒艮和海

鳥。請願驅使委員會向澳洲施壓,要求當局兌現承諾,恢復

大堡礁的健康。澳洲政府現已承諾限制擴建大堡礁內或附近

A bat with frightening fangs, an evil-looking wasp and the world’s second-longest insect are just some of 139 new species discovered by scientists in the Greater Mekong region, and are detailed in WWF’s Magical Mekong report. Unfortunately, scientists say that many of these species are already at risk. “We’ve only skimmed the surface of new discoveries in the Greater Mekong,” said Carlos Drews, Director of WWF’s Global Species Programme. “However, while species are being discovered, intense pressures are taking a terrible toll”. While road and dam construction projects present grave threats to the region’s species, “WWF and its partners are working to ensure that these species – and those yet to be discovered – are protected for generations”, Drews explained.

致力緩解氣候變化POSITIVE MESSAGE WITH WORLD-LEADING CLIMATE PLAN中國發布最新氣候計劃,該國溫室氣體排放量將於2030年

China’s new climate plan confirms that the country will peak its greenhouse gas emissions by 2030, sending a strong message to other countries that they need to do more on climate issues. While China is now the world’s largest greenhouse gas emitter, it is committed to changing this situation. “This is the first major developing country emitter to set a total emissions peak target”, said Samantha Smith, leader of WWF’s Global Climate and Energy Initiative. “In doing so, China has committed to both global climate security and to a transformational energy transition at home.” China has also committed to increasing its national share of low carbon energy to 20 per cent by 2030 and increasing the size of Chinese forests.

In early 2015, WWF delivered more than half a million signatures from people in 177 countries to the UNESCO World Heritage Committee, asking it to declare the Great Barrier Reef as “natural heritage under threat”. The petition came about due to the poor health of the Reef’s many organisms, including corals, seagrasses, marine turtles, dugongs and seabirds; resulting from man-made threats like dumping, illegal fishing, coastal development and climate change. The Committee listened, voting to maintain pressure on Australia until the country restores the health of the Reef. So far, Australia is on the right path, committing to restricting new megaport expansions in and near the Reef, and passing new laws banning the sea dumping of industrial dredge spoil.

聯合國聯手打擊 非法野生物貿易HISTORIC UN RESOLUTION UNITES WORLD IN FIGHT AGAINST WILDLIFE CRIME 2015年7月尾,聯合國首度通過決議,促使193個成

員國合作解決全球盜獵危機和終結非法野生物貿易。

議案由加蓬及德國發起,84個其他國家支持。非法野

生物貿易蔑視各國法治、危害當地社區安寧、為犯罪

網絡及武裝衝突提供資金援助。「若各國全力執行決

議,非法野生物貿易只會變得高風險,低回報。」世

界自然基金會國際非法野生物貿易倡議領袖Elisabeth

McLellan說:「有力的舉報機制應可改善情況,填補

漏洞。」

Initiated by gabon and Germany and co-sponsored by 84 other nations, the UN adopted a historic resolution in late July 2015 committing all 193 member countries to increasing their collective efforts to end the global poaching crisis. The vast illegal wildlife trade undermines the rule of law and the well-being of local communities, finances criminal networks and funds armed conflicts.. “If countries fully implement the resolution, wildlife crime will become far riskier and far less rewarding,” said Elisabeth McLellan, Head of WWF International’s Wildlife Crime Initiative. ”The resolution’s strong reporting mechanism should ensure that real progress is made and that any critical gaps are effectively addressed.”

FSC 認證:明智選擇FSC CERTIFICATION IS A SMART CHOICE世界自然基金會早前公布一項成本效益分析結果,發現FSC森林管理委員會認

證能為森林企業帶來不少好處。這份名為 Profitability and Sustainability in Responsible Forestry: Economic impacts of FSC certification on forest operators的研究報告顯示,通過FSC認證的原木或同類產品比未經認證木材的每

平方米售價高出1.8美元;故不論任何地域,透過價格溢價、效率提升及其他經濟

利益,熱帶地區的貿易及中小型企業均能受惠於FSC認證。本會希望報告能協助林

A WWF cost-benefit analysis released this year underlines the benefits of Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certification for some forest-based businesses. The study, titled Profitability and Sustainability in Responsible Forestry: Economic impacts of FSC certification on forest operators, found that businesses operating in the tropics and small- and medium-size companies, regardless of geography, gain significant benefits from attaining FSC certification, earning an average of an extra US$1.80 for every cubic metre of FSC-certified roundwood or equivalent. These outcomes were achieved through price premiums, increased efficiency and other financial benefits. The report will help forest companies plan for certification, and provides important insights for forest companies and buyers of wood products as well as governments, financiers and others with a stake in FSC certification.

全球海洋經濟價值THE VALUE OF THE WORLD’S OCEANS世界自然基金會最近發表兩份報告,揭示了海洋豐富經濟價

值及其對人類福祉與全球經濟的貢獻。考慮到珍貴地球資源

正面對的種種威脅,報告同時提出扭轉現時局面的解決方

法。根據《恢復海洋經濟大行動》,海洋每年提供總值2.5萬

億美元產品和服務;海洋資產保守估計價值達24萬億美元,若

與全球十大經濟體相比,排名第七。另一份報告則分析海岸

保護區及海洋的健康狀況,當中發現在海洋保育每1美元的投

資,於就業、海岸保育及漁業方面帶來最少3倍回報。

Two recent WWF reports have detailed the oceans’ staggering wealth and the undeniable role they play in supporting human well-being and the health of the global economy. The reports highlight the threats facing this critical global resource and the solutions that can help turn the tide. Reviving the Ocean Economy uncovers the fact that the ocean ranks seventh in terms of world economies. The report conservatively estimates the ocean's annual output of goods and services to be US$2.5 trillion and places its overall value at US$24 trillion. The second report, an analysis of marine protected areas and ocean health, concludes that every dollar invested in marine protection would be at least tripled in benefits from employment, coastal protection, and fisheries.

CREATING A SAFE HAVEN FOR CHINESE WHITE DOLPHINSWWF's Safe Haven project envisages a network of Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) and a comprehensive management plan for Hong Kong waters designed to save the dolphins. We believe an MPA network which includes new marine parks, can be designated and in place by 2019. At the same time, we are working towards rerouting high speed marine traffic between Lantau and the Soko Islands and developing a comprehensive management plan for the entire Pearl River Delta.

In July 2014, WWF invited 28 cetacean experts and conservationists to co-sign a joint letter urging the Hong Kong government to immediately implement more measures to safeguard the dolphins’ future in our waters. It was a success, contributing to the government’s announcement that it would designate the Southwest Lantau and Soko Islands Marine Parks by early 2017. These parks will give dolphins some “breathing space” as rampant reclamation work begins in the waters of north Lantau.

WWF is the first green group to work with the Tai O walla-walla operators who provide dolphin watching tours to the public between July and December 2015. Our Tai O Dolphin Watching Interpretation Pilot Programme approached operators and created ties with those willing to follow a “dolphin watching code of conduct”. In return, WWF provides trained interpreters for dolphin watching trips, giving tourists insights into Tai O’s history and the dolphins’ situation. The programme is on-going and thus the results have yet to be calculated, but it has already successfully built trust, credibility and relationships with local Tai O residents.

SAVING OUR SEAS FOR THE FUTUREOver the past few decades, over 7,000 hectares of Hong Kong waters have been reclaimed, yet not more than 2 per cent have been designated as marine parks or reserves. Years of unchecked overfishing have led to a massive depletion in resources, leaving the biodiversity of our local waters at serious risk.

In July 2015, WWF launched the Sea for Future campaign, which aims to create a network of MPAs covering 10 per cent of Hong Kong waters and encompassing all important habitats and species. At the same time, we will work to ensure that local fisheries operations are future focused and developed and managed in a sustainable manner.

Our teams will produce a Marine Hotspot Map and a “wish list” for future MPAs, while working with experts to identify important marine habitats and species.

CONSERVING OUR ECOLOGICAL ASSETSAlthough 40 per cent of Hong Kong’s land area is protected by country parks and other special areas, there are still areas and species of high ecological value and conservation interest, in particular to those on private land, that receive little or no protection.

In FY15, WWF submitted comments on a total of 198 cases, which included planning applications, land use zoning plans, New Town development projects and Environmental Impact Assessment reports. We also had the sad duty of reporting 15 cases of eco-vandalism to the appropriate government departments for their investigation and follow-up action. Our comments on the Tai Po Fung Yuen Green Belt rezoning proposal were adopted by the Town Planning Board, and the site was taken out of the Planning Department’s rezoning plans and protected from development. Our comments also affected the Tung Chung New Town extension work, and the ecologically-important Tung Chung Bay and Tung Chung River have now been saved from being developed.

Looking forward, in FY16 we will continue to scrutinize development projects and land use plans; continue our fruitful co-operation with Trailwatch and their volunteers to tackle eco-vandalism in country park enclaves; expend more effort on monitoring future development on Lantau Island and continue our work assisting the government with formulating the Biodiversity Strategy Action Plan.

確立海豚棲息地Safe Haven計劃期望於本港水域建設完整的海岸保護

區(MPAs)網絡及制定全面管理方案,保護海豚餘下

的棲息地。我們促請政府於2019年前設立一個涵蓋新海

岸公園的海岸保護區網絡。同時,我們正研究如何減低

行駛於大嶼山和索罟群島之間的高速船對海豚的影響,

並倡議政府儘快為本地海豚制定全面管理計劃。

2014年7月,本會動員28名海豚專家及保育人士聯

署,促請香港政府立即採取更多有效措施保護本港僅餘

的中華白海豚。聯署成功促使政府宣布於2017年前設立

大嶼山西南和索罟群島海岸公園。增建的海岸公園能在

北大嶼山填海工程展開後為海豚提供喘息空間。

本會亦是首個與大澳觀豚營運商合作,於2015年7月

至12月期間推行「觀豚導賞服務先導計劃」的環保團

體。我們和願意遵守觀豚守則的營運商合辦觀豚活

動,為觀豚小艇上的遊客提供生態導賞,推廣大澳

文化歷史及講解中華白海豚現況。計劃仍處於試行階

段,但已成功加深社區對海豚的了解。

為未來,留住美麗海洋過去數十年,香港喪失超過7,000公頃海洋面積,現

時只有不足百分之2水域被劃為海岸公園或海岸保護

區。多年來,捕漁作業一直未被有效規管,嚴重損

耗海洋資源,威脅本港水域的生物多樣性。

本會在2015年7月推展 Sea for Future 計劃,期望

將百分之10本港水域劃為海岸保護區,以保護所有

重要海洋生境地和物種。同時,我們將致力協助本

地漁業以可持續發展模式管理和運作。

未來,我們將製作「海洋生態熱點圖」及列出未來應

劃為海岸保護區的地點,同時與海洋專家合作,找

出重要海洋生境及物種。

守護生態資產本港現時有四成土地被劃為郊野公園或特別保護

區,然而仍有不少具高生態保育價值的地域及物種

並未得到妥善保護。2015年,本會就198宗個案提

交意見,包括規劃申請、土地用途分區規劃、新巿

鎮發展項目及環境評估報告。我們亦向相關政府部

門提交了15宗環境破壞個案,以便其調查及跟進。

同時,城巿規劃委員會採納了我們就大埔鳳園綠化

地帶改劃用途申請的建議書,成功中止規劃署改劃

該幅綠化地帶。我們提交意見,亦成功改變東涌新

巿鎮擴展工程計劃,保護了具重要生態價值的東涌

灣及東涌河。

來年,我們將繼續密切監察發展項目和土地用途規

劃,並就對生態環境有潛在影響的項目適時提供專

業意見;我們亦會繼續與TrailWatch合作,應對郊

野公園「不包括土地」的生態環境破壞個案;加強對

大嶼山尤其是北大嶼山一帶填海工程及東面人工島

計劃的監察,以守護生態脆弱區域和物種;檢視緩

解措施的績效,改善環評程序機制;以及繼續協助

政府制定本港《生物多樣性策略及行動計劃》。

CROWD-SOURCING SURVEYS TO PROTECT BIODIVERSITYAstonishingly, it has now been 30 years since a thorough inventory of species has been conducted at Mai Po Nature Reserve. Given the changes of land use in the surrounding Mai Po and Inner Deep wetland complex, such an inventory is long overdue.

With the generous support of HSBC, a two-year project called “Discovering Biodiversity” in Hong Kong Wetlands kicked off in May 2015. The project will mobilize “citizen scientists” and generate a wealth of knowledge on the wetlands’ unique biodiversity. We will establish historical trends by collating existing biological information from the Reserve and its environs, before gathering up-to-date biological information from the Mai Po and Inner Deep Bay Ramsar site through in-depth biological field surveys. The updated species data will form a valuable baseline, allowing for a better species and habitat management at Mai Po and creating a reference point for the first local biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan (BSAP).

In FY16, our experts and over 200 citizen scientists will continue the scheduled surveys. WWF will also start engaging local secondary schools to participate in a Teacher’s Working Group and the production of exhibition panels and education packs for secondary schools.

香港濕地生物多樣性普查時光飛逝,上次在米埔進行全面物種調查已是30年

前。米埔及內后海灣濕地鄰近地區的土地用途經歷

多年轉變,物種資料有待更新。承蒙香港上海�豐

銀行有限公司的慷慨捐助,為期兩年的「香港濕地

生物多樣性普查」於2015年5月正式展開。「公民科

學家」和專家透過生態調查收集及整理本港濕地生

物多樣性資料,歸納出濕地歷年來的野生生物數量

走勢。普查所得資料將提供珍貴基線數據,有助本

會更有效管理米埔,同時亦對本港首份《生物多樣

性策略及行動計劃》有重要參考價值。計劃於2015

年推出,超過200名「公民科學家」協助進行超過15

項調查,本會亦聯同本地中學老師製作相關展板及

教材套。

地區濕地REGIONAL WETLANDS

MAI PO: A PERMANENT SAFE HAVEN FOR RARE BIRDSThis year, WWF was delighted to announce the natural establishment of an egretry at Mai Po which saw at least 123 pairs of Great egrets and 62 pairs of Black-crowned night herons nesting in mangrove trees at the seaward end of a traditionally-managed shrimp pond. This phenomenon has not been observed at the Reserve for over 20 years. It is uncommon for these species to breed in the Deep Bay area; in fact it has been 12 years since the last pair of Night herons is known to have bred in the bay.

On 19 April 2015, for the first time ever in Hong Kong and mainland China, a Buff-breasted sandpiper – a Near Threatened species on the IUCN Red List – was found at a high-tide waterbird roost in Mai Po Nature Reserve. This migratory bird, which nearly went extinct in the 1920s due to hunting, is normally found along the Central American Flyway, breeding in the Arctic Circle during summer and normally migrating through the central part of the Americas to reach its wintering ground on the southeast coast of South America. This is the first time the species has ever been sighted in Hong Kong.

WORKING TO CONSERVE SOUTH CHINA’S WETLANDS Since 1990, the Wetland Management Training Programme, organized by WWF-Hong Kong and based at Mai Po Nature Reserve, has played an increasingly important role in providing training in wetland conservation and reserve management knowledge and techniques to nature reserve staff, government officials and people responsible for promoting wetland conservation and environmental education from China and across the region.

This year, we organized seven eight-day long training courses at Mai Po for a total of 70 participants from mainland China and 22 short-term wetland management study courses for 162 participants. We also held five visits to mainland Chinese wetlands to give presentations, provide technical advice, attend workshops, discuss work plans with partners and organize training activities. About 220 participants participated in these visits.

Next year, we are committed to providing 10 training courses and three or four study tours at Mai Po for at least 150 participants, as well as conducting further on-site training sessions and site visits to mainland China.

After improving wetland management at the Minjiang Estuary Nature Reserve by training staff of the Reserve’s Management Bureau, developing a five-year management plan and monitoring regular work carried out by Reserve staff over the past three years, the focus of FY15 moved to Reserve-based and school-based ESD work.

The Reserve-based work focused on helping staff organize World Wetlands Day and Love Bird Week activities independently; while school-based work focused on developing good relationships with partner schools by inviting primary school teachers to attend an ESD activity at the Reserve, visiting schools and organizing an ESD training workshop in Mai Po for particularly interested teachers. In April 2015, a working group was established to develop school-based ESD programmes.

米埔:候鳥天堂今年,我們在米埔基圍內發現自然而成的鷺鳥林,

當中至少有123對大白鷺及62對夜鷺,鷺鳥在以傳

統方式管理的基圍內靠海一方紅樹林上築巢。上次

在區內發現鷺鳥林已超過20年前,這兩個品種並不

常在后海灣內繁殖,上次在灣內發現夜鷺繁殖已是

12年前。

今年4月19日,有觀鳥人士在米埔自然保護區的潮漲

棲息地發現一隻黃胸鷸,黃胸鷸在國際自然保護聯

盟紅色名錄中屬近危物種,這是首次在香港及中國

大陸境內發現其�跡。黃胸鷸在1920年代因遭到大

量捕獵瀕臨絕種,牠們常見於中美洲飛行航道,夏

季時於北極圈繁殖,然後沿美洲中部南遷,到南美

洲東南沿岸過冬。

合力管理南中國地區濕地本會自1990年起已在米埔自然保護區開展濕地管

理培訓項目,項目在中國及亞洲各地同業間備受重

視,多年來為米埔工作人員、政府及相關教育工作

者提供濕地保育培訓,提升其管理技巧和知識。

今年,米埔舉辦了7個為期8天的濕地管理培訓班,

共有70名來自中國的參加者。另外,我們舉辦了22

個短期濕地管理考察班,吸引共162名參加者。我們

亦五度到訪中國大陸濕地提供具體技術建議、與合作

夥伴制定濕地管理規劃及籌備培訓活動,共吸引220

名參加者。

來年,我們計劃開辦10個培訓課程和舉辦3至4個米

埔考察團,最少惠及150個參加者,我們亦會到訪參

加者管理的中國大陸濕地,進行實地考察培訓。

本會今年繼續推廣「可持續發展教育」(ESD),對

象除本港師生,亦包括中國大陸自然保護區工作人

員。他們本年度首次成功舉辦世界濕地日和愛鳥周

慶祝活動,成為培訓成效的例證。同時,本會透過

訪校及邀請小學教師參與ESD活動及培訓工作坊,

與合作學校建立長遠良好關係。今年4月,我們成立

專責發展校本ESD項目的工作小組。

香港的生態足印持續膨脹,情況令人憂慮。香港人的生態足印在亞洲

名列前茅──如果全人類都依照港人模式生活,將要3.1個地球才能

滿足我們所需。我們現有的生活模式嚴重耗用天然資源,特別是發電

時的碳排放和我們對海鮮的龐大需求。今年,世界自然基金會香港分

會再次聚焦於這兩大範疇,一方面鼓勵公眾支持更健康的電力市場,

推動社會發展可再生能源,同時改變社會過度消耗漁業資源。

Hong Kong’s Ecological Footprint continues its unfortunate and relentless upward climb, growing larger every year. Our Ecological Footprint is one of the highest in Asia – if everyone on Earth lived like we do in Hong Kong, we would need 3.1 planets to fulfil our need for resources.

Many of the impacts of our resource-heavy lifestyles come from emissions produced by the production of electricity and our enormous appetite for seafood. This year, WWF-Hong Kong refocused and then redoubled our efforts to address these problems. We initiated a campaign to reduce our electricity consumption, mobilizing public support for a more healthy electricity market and promoting renewable energy throughout society; and continued a number of high-profile projects to change the way our society consumes fisheries resources.

WORKING FOR A HEALTHIER ELECTRICITY MARKETHong Kong’s electricity generation relies heavily on fossil fuels, which create almost 70 per cent of our greenhouse gas emissions.WWF-Hong Kong has been working to improve the electricity market for future generations. This year, WWF-Hong Kong issued our “Hong Kong Energy Vision 2050”, suggesting that the government should fully implement energy-saving policies and demand-side management, while progressively increasing the use of renewable energy sources. If adopted, Vision 2050 will reduce Hong Kong’s carbon emissions by 92 per cent below 1990 levels and save over HK$10 billion annually, while reducing our electricity consumption by 50 per cent below the “business as usual” scenario.

The current Scheme of Control Agreements (SCAs) between the government and Hong Kong’s electricity utility companies allow these companies to create more profit by building new generation units, leaving Hong Kong with a large electricity reserve margin – over 30 per cent.

As the government kicked off a public consultation on the future development of the electricity market, WWF-Hong Kong called on the government to adopt two measures when reviewing the SCAs: improve the incentive/penalty scheme to encourage energy saving, and open up the grid to distributed generation including renewables. WWF believes that our advocacy work resulted in these points being included in the public consultation results, and that they will be tabled in future negotiations between the power companies and the government.

A petition mobilized public support, collecting more than 4,500 signatures; while a survey on renewable energy revealed that over half the respondents would consider installing renewable energy generating devices if the power companies promised to purchase power from them.

We will continue to encourage the government to set an ambitious 2030 reduction target, facilitate the development of renewable energy and promote energy efficiency.

EVENTS FOR THE EARTH, BY THE PEOPLEThis year Earth Hour fell on 28 March and saw not one, but two WWF-run events. Hong Kong once again fell under the spell of the world’s largest environmental action, becoming one of 7,000 cities across 172 countries and territories to celebrate Earth Hour 2015. Many thousands of people, over 3,900 companies and buildings, all Hong Kong universities, over 300 primary and secondary schools and numerous landmarks across the city grew dark for the “lights out” hour at 8:30pm.

Just after 8:30, Run for Change – WWF-Hong Kong’s first-ever charity run – kicked off at the West Kowloon waterfront. This spectacular night run attracted over 2,600 participants and raised over HK$ 960,000 for WWF’s conservation and education work. Green features were embedded into the event to reduce its carbon emissions.

Both events helped make Earth Hour 2015 the most impactful yet. On top of the money raised, over 19,000 signatories made pledges on the Earth Hour Hong Kong website, while many more went beyond the hour: “One Earth Mission” activities were held throughout April focusing on aspects of our over-consumptive Hong Kong lifestyles like clothing, food, living and transportation, to help the Hong Kong public learn to consume less and consume wisely by leading more sustainable lives.

Best of all, Earth Hour had a direct impact on electricity consumption in Hong Kong – during the hour, consumption dropped by 4.08 per cent, equivalent to a reduction in carbon emissions of approximately 138 tonnes. Expect more achievements and exciting messages for Earth Hour 2016 – the world’s tenth Earth Hour!

BUSINESSES JOIN THE FIGHT AGAINST CLIMATE CHANGE2015 was another successful year for our business engagement programmes – the Low Carbon Manufacturing Programme (LCMP) and the Low-carbon Office Operation Programme (LOOP).

In 2014 and 2015, 24 LCMP-accredited companies collectively avoided a record-breaking 134,467 tonnes of carbon emissions – an amount of carbon that would take 5,850,000 trees one year to absorb. At the same time, these companies also recorded robust business growth, showing that it is perfectly possible for businesses to be green and financially successful at the same time.

The LOOP has seen 138 offices take part in the programme from its inception in 2009 through to the present day. In 2015, the total carbon reduction of the 28 verified LOOP companies was 1,211 tonnes when compared to the business as usual scenario, equivalent to the carbon absorbed by 52,652 trees in one year. A progressive improvement has been recorded in LOOP offices every year. Collectively, the average carbon performance index of LOOP offices has been rising every year, from 55.7 in the 2010 verification to 67.7 in 2015. Additionally, this year, 82 per cent of verified offices are working toward a time-bound greenhouse gas emissions reduction target, while in 2011, only 32 per cent were doing so.

更FIT的電力市場香港的電力主要由燃燒化石燃料所得,其溫室氣體的

排放佔總排放量近七成。本會致力改善電力市場,發表

「香港2050能源願景」,提倡政府全面推行節能及需求

管理政策,並逐步增加可再生能源為發電燃料。若願

景實現,本港有望於2050年比1990年減排百分之92,

並節省逾100億的電力開支,用電量亦較政府的預測減

少五成。

現時政府與電力公司簽訂之《管制計劃協議》容許兩

電透過興建發電機組增加利潤,導致香港的備用電量

過剩(超過三成)。電力市場持續膨脹,大量投資化石

燃料發電,碳排放量高企,阻礙香港成為節能低碳的

城市。2015年,政府就電力市場未來發展進行公眾諮

詢,本會促請政府在檢討《管制計劃協議》時加入兩

項新措施,包括:修訂節能賞罰機制;開放電網予分

佈式電力,鼓勵市民及企業興建小規模可再生能源發

電設備。

本會動員超過4,500個公眾簽名支持,我們更從「可再

生能源意見調查」發現,若電力公司承諾購買社區生

產的電力,逾半受訪者表示會考慮安裝再生能源的發

電設備,自行生產電力。

本會將繼續促請政府制定2030年減排目標,讓可再生

能源及節能措施得到公平發展的機會。

民眾自發 守護地球 今屆「地球一小時」,我們不僅再次於2015年3月28

日參與這個全球最大型的環保行動,更新增首屆慈

善跑「跑出未來」。當晚8時半,我們聯同數以萬計

市民、逾3,900間公司和大廈、全港所有大學、超過

300間中、小學及多個地標建築物,同步響應全球超

過172個國家和地區,逾7,000個城市一起熄燈。

與此同時,西九龍海濱長廊舉行首屆慈善跑「跑出

未來」。賽事共吸引逾2,600名健兒參與,為本會保

育及教育工作籌得超過港幣96萬元善款。活動加入

不少綠色元素,盡量減少碳排放。

「地球一小時」香港網頁收集到超過19,000個簽署

承諾支持。為延續「地球一小時」精神,本會於四月

份舉辦「一個地球大行動」,針對港人過度消費的生

活模式,在衣、食、住、行等多方面教育公眾惜用

識揀,實踐可持續生活模式。

最令人振奮的是,「地球一小時」直接減低了全港的

用電量──活動舉行期間,香港的用電量下降了百

分之4.08,相等於減少約138噸碳排放。2016年,適

逢這項全球環保盛事第10次舉行,屆時將有更驕人

成就。

企業攜手 對抗氣候變化今年,低碳製造計劃(LCMP)和低碳辦公室計劃

(LOOP)再次取得佳績。2014及2015年,24間

LCMP認證企業合共減少高達134,467噸碳排放,減

碳量創歷年新高,相等於585萬棵樹一年的碳吸收

量。與此同時,這些公司的業務錄得顯著增長,證

明節能減排與業務發展絕對可以共存。

LOOP自2009年推行至今,共有138間辦公室參與計

劃。本年度有28間公司參與LOOP認證,與「一切

如常」的情況相比,共節省了1,211噸碳排放,相等

於52,652棵樹一年的碳吸收量。LOOP辦公室的表

現逐年進步,整體來說,LOOP辦公室的平均碳績

效指數逐年提升,由2010年認證的55.7上升至2015

年的67.7。此外,今年有百分之82的認證辦公室制

定具時限性的溫室氣體減排目標,2011年,僅百分

之32的LOOP辦公室具有此目標。

TRANSFORMING OUR SEAFOOD HABITSWWF-Hong Kong established the Seafood Choice Initiative in 2007. Leveraging on changes in consumption patterns to create momentum for sustainable fisheries throughout Asia Pacific, the programme has seen considerable success over the years.

The Footprint team rolled out several new initiatives in 2015. We began by launching a smartphone app version of our famous Seafood Guide, helping shoppers and consumers choose sustainable seafood by providing comprehensive information on the sustainability of various species, regular updates on relevant information, and giving them a list of restaurants which offer Ocean Friendly Menus – all on their smartphones!

The team also conducted a Fish Tank Index study of Chinese and seafood restaurants in Hong Kong, which revealed that half of the live seafood for sale in those restaurants came from unsustainable sources. Another survey conducted in November 2014 showed that over 90 per cent of respondents were willing to avoid an unsustainable seafood item if they knew its status, while over 60 per cent said that insufficient information at supermarkets and restaurants presents a key challenge to purchasing and consuming sustainable seafood. These surveys point to the need for better labelling and more information to help consumers gauge seafood sustainability and make the right choices.

The year culminated in WWF-Hong Kong’s Sustainable Seafood Week, which ran from 27 June to 5 July 2015. We partnered with 114 restaurants, hotels, fast-food chains and Hong Kong-style teahouses to popularize and bring sustainable seafood to all people in Hong Kong. During the week, sales of sustainable seafood at these restaurants increased by an average of 31.4 per cent.

In FY16, we aim to further engage the local catering industry to influence fishing and farming practices in Asia Pacific, and work with catering chains to make sustainable seafood even more accessible in Hong Kong.

DRAWING ATTENTION TO OUR ECOLOGICAL FOOTPRINT Since 2008, WWF-Hong Kong has been publishing the Ecological Footprint report to raise public awareness on the impacts of our unsustainable lifestyles. The latest research shows that Hong Kong’s per capita Ecological Footprint ranks 15th globally and our ecological deficit – the difference between our per capita Ecological Footprint and our available biocapacity – ranks first in Asia.

We will continue to promote a sustainable lifestyle through consuming less and consuming wisely throughout 2016 and beyond.

TAKING A BITE OUT OF THE SHARK FIN INDUSTRYIncreasing numbers of shark species are threatened with extinction due to historically high demand for shark products, particularly shark fins. Hong Kong accounts for about 50 per cent of the global shark fin trade. WWF-Hong Kong has always advocated to stop shark fin consumption, having spearheaded a “no shark fin” campaign since 2007. Our No Shark Fin Corporate Pledge has 179 signatories; our Individual Pledge has over 10,000 signatures and 118 restaurants and catering outlets currently offer our Alternative Shark Free Menu.

This year saw our shark work build on the momentum of previous years. To review the effectiveness of our various initiatives, in 2014 we conducted the first-ever Shark Fin Consumption Survey of caterers. We obtained 154 responses from Chinese banquet caterers, hotels and clubhouses. The results revealed some excellent news: shark fin consumption volume dropped by 47 per cent in 2013 compared to 2012 figures; while 55 per cent of the respondents agreed that shark fin consumption volumes will continue to drop over the next three years.

Despite this good news, Hong Kong remains an important trading hub for shark fin. Approaching the problem from another angle, we have been reinforcing our lobbying work with the logistics sector in recent years, as shipping companies can play a positive role in shark conservation. In April 2015, WWF-Hong Kong began increasing our engagement with shipping companies, requesting that they set up a restrictive shark fin carriage policy. On 18 May 2015, MOL Liner Ltd. announced a ban on shark fin shipment on their official website. It is expected that more shipping companies will follow suit and enact restrictive shark fin carriage policies in the near future.

環保海鮮 正確選擇本會在2007年推出海鮮選擇大行動,成效顯彰。藉著

本地消費模式轉變,推動亞太區發展可持續漁業。

2015年,我們推出「海鮮選擇指引流動應用程式」,讓

公眾輕易透過手機得知最新環保海鮮資訊及供應上述

海鮮的餐廳名單。

此外,團隊在本地多間中式食肆及海鮮酒家進行「魚缸

指數」調查,發現這些餐廳所出售的活海鮮超過一半為

非環保海鮮。2014年11月進行的另一項調查顯示,超過

九成受訪者表示如得悉海鮮的可持續性,將拒絕消費非

環保海鮮;超過六成受訪者指在超級市場及餐廳沒有足

夠資料顯示該海鮮是否環保,令購買和食用環保海鮮難

度大增,反映市面上的海鮮需要更清晰詳盡的標示,幫

助消費者作出正確選擇。

2015年6月27日至7月5日,本會舉行「環保海鮮週」。

我們與本港114間餐廳、酒店、連鎖快餐店和茶餐廳合

作,推廣和提供更多環保海鮮供市民選擇。這些食肆

的環保海鮮銷售量在活動期間平均上升了百分之31.4。

本會期望進一步推動本地餐飲業界,並改革亞太區的漁

業捕撈及養殖方式,另與本地連鎖食肆合作,令消費者

更容易購買到環保海鮮。

拆解「生態赤字」 本會自2008年起定期發表《香港生態足印報告》,

旨在提高公眾意識,闡明不可持續的生活模式所帶

來的影響。本會最新發布的生態足印研究指出,現

時香港的人均生態足印排名高踞全球第15位;本港

的「生態赤字」——即人均生態足印與生物承載力的

差距在全亞洲更排行第一。

在2016年及往後的日子,我們會繼續鼓勵市民

「惜用識揀」,實踐可持續生活模式 。

邁向無翅之都由於對鯊魚產品──尤其是魚翅的龐大需求,愈來

愈多鯊魚品種面臨絕種威脅。香港每年處理全球

約一半的魚翅貿易。本會於2007年推出「向魚翅說

不」行動,至今共有179家企業和組織承諾參與,個

人承諾計劃亦收集到逾一萬個簽名。同時,118間食

肆已加入本會的「無翅宴會菜單選擇計劃」。

為審視本會鯊魚保育的成果,本會於2014年進行了

首次針對飲食業的魚翅供應調查,成功獲154間食肆

回應,包括中式宴會場所、酒店及會所。調查結果

令人鼓舞:2013年的魚翅消耗量比2012年下跌百分

之47;有百分之55的受訪者預計香港的魚翅消耗量

在未來三年將持續下降。

儘管如此,香港仍是重要的魚翅貿易中心。由於船

運公司能就鯊魚保育發揮正面作用,本會近年積

極與物流業界合作,試圖從另一個角度解決魚翅問

題。自2015年4月開始,本會積極遊說多間船運公

司制定限載魚翅的政策。商船三井於2015年5月18

日在其官方網頁宣佈停止運載魚翅。我們深信在不

久的將來會有更多船運公司制定限載魚翅政策。

LEARNING AND CONSERVING IN PERFECT HARMONYBy the end of the year, all WWF's centre-based and outreach education programmes were 100 per cent aligned and had reached more than 50,000 people. In addition to delivering outstanding and innovative programming, WWF’s education work now provides effective channels for people to reach out and call for action, further supporting our policy advocacy work.

One example of the success of this alignment is our regular “Sustainable City @ Tai Po”, delivered to secondary school students. Through a visit to both newly-built and historic areas of Tai Po, sites of special scientific interest and an industrial estate, students come to understand how the development of the New Town and changes in the surrounding land use have affected people and the environment. They also gained a a holistic understanding of the importance of building a sustainable city which values and conserves nature.

Another example is our on-going and popular “Nature Adventurers” course, which was run during the 2014 Easter holiday and the 2015 summer holidays. Aimed at slightly younger primary school children, the course introduces them to several different Hong Kong natural environments, allowing them to interact with nature in fun, relaxing and interesting ways. The “Wetland Challenge” lets children get close to wetland wildlife and waterbirds and gain field work experience; on the “Marine Adventure”, they see corals from a glass-bottomed boat and snorkel through the marine environment; and on the ConservAction day at Island House Conservation Studies Centre, they encounter terrestrial wildlife, perform creative DIY upcycling and prepare a low-carbon lunch. These encounters allow them to discover the many relationships between humans and the natural world, helping them understand, reflect on and appreciate the importance of nature to all aspects of our lives.

STEPPING UP THE ACTIONThis year, through our signature STEP (Sustainable lifestyle Target Education Programme) the Education team began taking a “whole school approach” to Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) by employing action-based learning. This approach created concrete, positive changes in schools and acceptance of the idea of sustainability.

Over 19,000 students from 30 different schools participated in the programme, with their schools adopting a number of tailored, school-based actions afterwards. These actions reduced the students’ consumption and helped cultivate a sustainable lifestyle. Each of these actions leads to significant reductions in water, electricity and waste, helping to create a “caring for the environment” mindset at the schools. Based on the enormous success of this programmes and these actions, WWF will continue to work with schools across Hong Kong to mainstream sustainability into the formal curriculum, hopefully catalysing even greater impacts.

INNOVATIVE SCHOOL-CENTRE PARTNERSHIPSA brand-new way of learning is currently being pioneered at the Madeline Tang Marine Research Centre, located in the Hoi Ha Marine Life Centre. Partnering with two secondary schools, one local and one international, students form teams and conduct a year-long investigative research project on a particular marine topic – coral, water quality, plankton and many others.

This learning model is a radical change from the usual half-day one-off visit to the Marine Life Centre. Instead, students visit every two weeks to collect data and examine results before making their conclusions at the end of the year and presenting their findings. This model creates synergy and interflow between the centre and the two partner schools, as the students who run experiments in one year then go on to mentor their younger schoolmates as they conduct their experiments the next year.

This five-year project is scheduled to run from 2012-2017, and continues to be a big hit with the schools and students alike. This year 48 students took part, with some discovering a massive coral bleaching event in Hoi Ha Wan. WWF is eagerly anticipating more new discoveries and important findings from the next batches of students during the remaining two years of the programme.

MEASURING OUR EFFECTIVENESSTo ensure that we gain valuable feedback, measure the effectiveness of our programmes and make any necessary adjustments as soon as possible, in FY15 we rolled out a comprehensive evaluation and assessment strategy for all our centre-based and outreach programmes. The results have so far been favourable: over 60 per cent of student participants gave pro-environmental responses after joining our programmes; while more than 90 per cent of participating teachers agreed that our programmes improved their students’ knowledge of sustainable development and complemented their teaching on the relevant topics.

寓保育於學習 本年度,本會教育項目成功向超過50,000名公眾人士

傳遞重要保育訊息。除推行創意教育項目,本會亦嘗

試透過更多不同渠道推廣保育訊息,呼籲各界以實

際行動回應保育訴求,進一步加強本會的政策倡議

工作。

專為中學生而設的「從大埔走來—可持續發展的城市」

是本會其中一個集教育及保育於一身的成功例子。透

過實地考察大埔新舊區、具特殊科學價值地點及工業

�,讓學生明白新市鎮發展及鄰近土地用途轉變如何

為人類和環境帶來影響,從而全面理解建設一個重視

及兼顧環境保育的可持續發展城巿是何等重要。

另一例子是專為小學生而設的「自然歷險隊」項目,

活動分別於2014年暑假及2015年復活節期間舉行,

帶領學童走遍香港多處具特色的自然環境,讓他們

輕鬆接觸大自然。「濕地全接觸」讓學童近距離接觸

濕地野生動植物及水鳥,親身體驗野外工作;「探索

海洋」讓參加者乘坐玻璃底船欣賞珊瑚,浮潛探索海

底世界;於大埔元洲仔自然環境保護研究中心舉行的

「保育行動日」,讓參加者認識不同的陸生植物、參

與升級再造工作坊及親手預備低碳午餐。這些難能可

貴的學習體驗讓參加者感受並了解人類和大自然環境

之間的微妙關係,學會反思並欣賞大自然對人類生活

的重要性。

STEP UP 全校起動今年,本會可持續生活模式教育計劃(STEP)繼續

深入校園,透過全校參與,推行可持續發展教育

(ESD),鼓勵師生以行動實踐可持續生活模式,在

校園帶來正面實質的轉變,進一步啟發學生相關保

育理念。

本學年共有30間本地小學、逾19,000名學生參加。

參與學校其後亦實行一系列度身訂造的校本活動,

延續保育精神。計劃透過實際行動減少學生的資源

消耗,灌輸可持續生活模式的理念,行動有效節約

用水、用電和減廢,在校園培養「關愛環境」的良好

創新學校夥伴合作本會在海下灣海洋生物中心的唐黃月梅研究中心開

創先河,試行全新學習模式。本年度我們分別與一

間本地及國際中學合作,學生團隊在中心內進行長

達一年的特定海洋研究項目,主題包括珊瑚、水

質、浮游生物等。

此學習模式有別於過往海洋生物中心慣常舉辦的一

次性半天參觀活動,參加學生每兩星期會到研究中

心搜集數據並分析結果,最後,學生會整理並發表

所得結果。革新的學習模式加強中心和兩間合作學

校的交流互動,學生除了在參與期間進行各式各樣

的科學實驗,亦需要在之後一年指導學弟進行新的

研究項目。

為期五年的學習計劃於2012-2017年間舉行,今年參

與學生共48名,當中有學生更發現了海下灣大規模

珊瑚白化現象。本會期待參加者在餘下兩年計劃內

能有更多重要新發現。

評估成效本年度所有中心及外展項目的全面成效評估結果

令人滿意:超過六成參與學生表示願意支持保育工

作;逾九成教師認為本會教育項目成功提高學生對

可持續發展的認識,活動亦補足相關環保議題的課

堂教學內容。

TRAINING FUTURE LEADERSThis year, our Marine Conservation Leadership Training Programme saw its final graduates finish the programme. Running since 2013, the “MCL” trained local university students to be Marine Conservation Leaders through participating in various training workshops and performing conservation and education volunteer work with WWF-Hong Kong. Consisting of training workshops dealing with marine and sustainable seafood issues, 50 hours of voluntary conservation work, and a group project which allowed them to promote marine conservation and sustainable seafood in their communities, the MCL programme successfully trained 20 university students, transforming them into champions of conservation.

Starting in FY16, the programme will evolve into something broader: the Nature Conservation Leadership Training Programme (NCL). The training will cover broader conservation topics, while the volunteer work aspect will see these new leaders deployed to different WWF teams to perform in-depth conservation work which will further nourish their conservation knowledge and skills.

PROVIDING CONTINUOUS TRAINING TO TEACHERSWWF now has over 2,000 members in our teacher network. The training we provided helps empower these teachers to disseminate our conservation messages to the younger generation. They also act as change agents in society, motivating and influencing others to adopt a sustainable lifestyle.

This year, we offered continuous professional development for local teachers. We provided training to some 200 teachers from over 100 secondary schools, emphasizing the importance of innovation and ways to stay on top of trends in Information Technology in Education promoted by the Education Bureau. Teachers also learned how to utilize mobile devices to help students learn about urban sustainability during our Sustainable City @ Tai Po programme.

改進領袖培訓計劃 「海洋保育領袖培訓計劃」於本年度迎來最後一批海

洋保育領袖。本計劃自2013年推出以來,透過培訓

工作坊和本會保育及教育相關義工服務,培訓本地大

學生成為海洋保育領袖。本年度計劃成功培訓共20名

大學生成為出色的保育領袖,培訓內容包括參與以海

洋和可持續海鮮為題的工作坊、50小時的保育義工服

務,以及完成小組項目,在社區內推廣海洋保育和可

持續海鮮。

下年度,我們將改進領袖培訓計劃,推出涵蓋面更廣

泛的「環境保育領袖培訓計劃」。培訓內容將包括更多

環境議題,參加者會調派到本會不同團隊,深入參與

本會保育工作,學習不同保育知識和技巧。

為教師提供持續培訓 本會教師網絡現有逾2,000名會員,我們所提供的培訓

項目協助教師向學生傳達保育訊息,讓他們成為保育

模範,鼓勵並推動學生實踐可持續生活模式。

今年,本會一如既往為本地教師提供專業發展培

訓,200名來自超過100間中學的教師,參與了我們特

別�重教育局所提倡的創新意念以及如何於教育過程

中善用資訊科技的培訓。教師亦學習如何應用流動通

訊設備協助學生在「從大埔走來—可持續發展的城市」

活動中認識可持續城巿的概念。

個人和公司捐款對世界自然基金會香港分會非常重要。沒有他們以捐款或參與義工的

形式提供幫助和支持,本會將缺乏能力和資源保護本港自然環境,為下一代締造可持

續發展的生活環境。

就2015年所獲得的支持而言,本會取得了莫大的成功,有多達245,259人資助本會遍

佈全港的多個保育項目。我們呼籲每位香港人加入本會不斷拓展的支持者網絡,協助

本會繼續積極進取的保育工作。

在2015年度,超過32,000人直接向本會提

供資助,當中23,884人透過定期捐款,積

極支持我們的工作。

我們沿用有效的募捐方式,鼓勵公眾透過

不同方法作出定期捐款,包括參與本會的

每月捐款會員計劃、助養野生動物,每日

或每星期作出小額捐款支持對抗氣候變化

等。我們在街頭、商場及透過本會活動親

身接觸公眾,並利用電視推廣、網上傳訊

及社交媒體等電子方式接觸他們。這些渠

道有助吸納新會員,為本會帶來穩定及可

靠的收入,並讓我們可以策劃更長遠、更

前瞻的保育工作。

本會推行多年的公司會員計劃今年繼續取

得成功。自2001年起,本會與本港及跨國

企業建立夥伴關係,協助他們建立可持續

發展的業務。此計劃為公司提供一個交流

環保方針的平台,亦讓公司管理層和員工

有機會親身參與本會的保育工作,吸取寶

貴經驗。

與此同時,我們與多間企業展開長遠務

實的合作項目,除了獲得寶貴的財政支

持,亦讓本會的保育訊息能傳遞給公眾

和商界。

在2015年度,共有479間公司和機構透過捐

款、實物捐贈和承諾支持我們的工作。

The support of individual and corporate donors is crucial to WWF-Hong Kong. Without their assistance and sustenance, both financial and volunteer-based, we would not have the capacity, the resources or the energy to protect Hong Kong’s natural heritage and create a sustainable city for future generations.

FY15 was enormously successful from a support point of view, with an impressive 245,259 people backing our many conservation initiatives across Hong Kong. We urge everyone in Hong Kong to help us continue our ambitious work into the future by becoming part of our growing network of supporters.

In FY15, over 32,000 individuals directly provided us with financial contributions. Active supporters making regular donations amounted to 23,884 of this figure.

We continued our successful model of encouraging people to donate regularly, by joining our monthly membership programme, “adopting” an iconic species, or donating small daily or weekly amounts to help combat climate change. We approached people in many ways – in person through street recruitment, in shopping centres and at events; and electronically through television appeals, online communications and via social media. Each of these channels helped bring new donors to the organization, providing us with regular and reliable income, and allowing us to develop a long-term vision and plan for our conservation work.

Our long-standing Corporate Membership Programme (CMP) continued to be a success this year. Since 2001, WWF has partnered with Hong Kong-based companies and multinational enterprises, helping to sustainably develop their businesses. The CMP provides a platform where companies can share green practices, and gives their management and staff the chance to gain valuable hands-on experience in WWF’s conservation work.

Outside the CMP, we have also formed many long-lasting and valuable business partnerships, receiving both valuable financial support and assistance in delivering our conservation messages to the public and other businesses.

In FY15, a total of 479 companies and organizations supported our work through donations, gifts-in-kind and pledges.

多年來,我們透過「步走大自然」和「香港

觀鳥大賽」等活動籌款,並推廣本會的保

育工作。今年,本會更舉行了首屆慈善跑

「跑出未來」,為本會的旗艦籌款活動再添

一員。這三項活動進一步提升我們在本地的

形象,為本會的保育和教育工作帶來重要的

資金支持。

2014年11月舉行的「步走大自然」,吸引逾

50支公司隊伍和近2,300名市民參加,籌得

約170萬港元善款。至於2015年2月舉行的

「香港觀鳥大賽」,亦為米埔自然保護區生

境管理工作籌得75萬港元。「跑出未來」在

3月28日緊接地球一小時的「熄燈一刻」舉

行,是項活動吸引逾2,600名健兒參與,共

籌得超過96萬港元善款。我們期望2016年

能吸引更多市民參與這幾項一年一度的籌

款盛事!

我們歡迎並感謝一眾為本會付出寶貴時間

和精力的義工。全賴這龐大義工隊伍的熱

心幫助,讓我們的保育、教育和行政團隊

得以應付每年繁重的工作。

這年度有503人參與本會義務工作、實習生

和師徒計劃,共付出了逾21,000小時的寶貴

私人時間。他們以不同方式支持本會工作,

包括協助舉辦大型活動(例如「地球一小

時」、「步走大自然」)及持續進行的保育

項目、打理米埔自然保護區、回應公眾查

詢,及在本會總部協助文書處理及其他行政

工作。

本會在此感謝各位的支持。我們期望來年

將有更多義工參與本會的工作!

Aside from our long-running Walk for Nature and Big Bird Race events, designed to raise money and promote our conservation work, this year WWF added one more event to our profile – our first-ever charity run entitled Run for Change. This trio of events helped raise our profile across Hong Kong, and brought in much-needed funds for our conservation and education work.

November 2014’s Walk for Nature involved more than 50 corporate teams and almost 2,300 individuals, raising about HK$1.7 million. The Big Bird Race, held in February 2015, raised HK$750,000 for habitat management work at Mai Po Nature Reserve. Run for Change, held immediately after the Earth Hour “lights out moment” on 28 March, drew over 2,600 runners and brought in over HK$960,000. We are excited about attracting even more participants to these unique and engaging events in FY16!

WWF welcomes and embraces the many volunteers who generously give their time and energy to us. Every year the overwhelming workload of our Conservation, Education and Administration teams is lessened thanks to the help of these kind people.

Throughout FY15, 503 volunteers, interns and mentees selflessly gave over 21,000 hours of their time to assist us in all kinds of ways, from helping out at large events like Earth Hour and Walk for Nature; to assisting with on-going conservation projects, performing field work at Mai Po Nature Reserve, answering urgent calls for help, and assisting with general clerical and other administration work at our headquarters.

本財政年度的總收入為8,430萬港元,較去年增加百分

之27,增幅主要來自單筆個人可觀捐款。

本年度個人捐款錄得持續穩定增長,並繼續成為本會

的最主要收入來源。受外圍經濟環境不穩定影響,不

少企業對社會責任的相關支出持審慎態度,然而公

司捐款仍為本會另一主要收入來源,包括「1600熊貓

遊」活動收益以及本港一間金融機構的電子帳單環保

活動收入。「育養海岸」計劃在2015年度從環境及自然

保育基金獲得額外有規限用途資助。本年度由信託及

基金所得捐款亦有所增長,主要用於新增的米埔保育

項目。除了年度籌款活動「步走大自然」外,首年舉辦

的「跑出未來」慈善跑步活動亦為本會提供重要的收入

來源。

我們深信透過推動切合本港需要及具影響力的保育及

教育項目,不但能為來年帶來更多有規限及無規限用

途捐款,亦能回應捐款者的支持及期望。

WWF-Hong Kong reported remarkable results for FY15, with a total income of HK$84.3 million, an increase of 27 per cent compared with the previous year. This increase is mainly attributable to a single, exceptional major donation.

Individual donations, our largest source of recurring revenue, continued to grow steadily. While companies generally took a cautious approach to corporate social responsibility spending in view of the unstable external environment, corporate donation income remained strong due to income from the 1600 Pandas campaign and income contributed by an e-statement fee initiative by a local financial institution. The Coastal Watch programme continued in FY15, utilizing additional restricted income from the Environment and Conservation Fund. Trust and foundation income also increased, in view of funding received for a new Mai Po-based programme. In addition to our annual Walk for Nature event, the new Run For Change event brought in a significant contribution.

WWF is confident that we will continue to increase both restricted and unrestricted income in FY16 as we move forward with locally relevant and highly impactful conservation and education programmes which match our donors’ high expectations.

本財政年度的總支出為7,530萬港元,較去年增加百

分之13.4,由於本會實行有效支出管理,本年度支出

增長低於收入增長。總體支出增加主要來自「育養海

岸」等數個新推行的跨年項目。保育工作繼續是我們

本年度最主要的支出範疇,集中於氣候、本地生物多

樣性、生態足印和地區濕地項目。此外,部份經費亦

用於社區教育工作,包括在本會各教育中心舉辦活

動,以及和學校合辦教育項目。一如既往,部分捐款

收入用於協助世界自然基金會總部推行全球項目。於

Total spending for the year was HK$75.3 million, an increase of 13.4 per cent over the previous year. Spending grew at a lower rate than income as a result of effective expense controls. Spending on a number of new multi-year programmes such as Coastal Watch contributed to overall growth. Conservation continued to be the largest expenditure component in FY15, particularly the climate, local biodiversity, footprint and regional wetland components; while community education implemented through our centre-based education programmes and school partnerships also involved significant spending. As in previous years, a portion of our donated income was contributed to the WWF network to achieve our global objectives. Moving forward, both new member acquisition and retention will be our strategic focus in FY16.

機構管治CORPORATE GOVERNANCE作為具領導地位的非牟利環保組織,世界自然基金

會香港分會透過專業、誠信和透明度,取得公眾的

信任。

本會由董事委員會專責管治。委員會成員來自保育

界、科學界和商界,全部均為對自然保育有抱負的

專業人士,以義務性質參與,並利用其專業知識提

供意見、訂立策略性方向、通過保育項目和每年的

財政預算案,以及監察本會的營運。

董事委員會的成員必須為世界自然基金會香港分會

的理事,並於周年大會上獲其他理事選為委員會成

員。委員會成員的任期為三年,並可競逐連任另一

個三年任期。除獲董事委員會准許,委員會成員任

期上限為六年。

為擴展及深化董事委員會的職能,委員會下設多個

由相關範疇之專家組成的附屬委員會,就保育、教

育、發展、財務及管理米埔自然保護區等範疇提供

專業意見。

As a leading non-profit conservation organization, WWF-Hong Kong commands a high degree of public trust due to our professionalism, integrity and transparency.

WWF-Hong Kong’s governing body is the Executive Council. Its members, professionals from conservation, scientific and business fields, are strongly committed to nature conservation. They serve on a voluntary basis, providing advice from their professional perspectives, approving strategic direction, conservation programmes and annual budget, and monitoring the operations of WWF-Hong Kong.

Members of the Executive Council must be trustee members of WWF-Hong Kong and are elected by other trustee members at the Annual General Meeting (AGM). Each Council member shall hold office until the third AGM next following his or her election when he or she shall retire, but shall be eligible for re-election for one further term of three years. Members may serve a maximum of six years, unless decided otherwise by the Executive Council.

A number of sub-committees, composed of experts in the relevant fields, enhance the breadth and depth of the Executive Council’s work. Each sub-committee provides professional advice on in the areas of conservation, education, development, finance and the management of Mai Po Nature Reserve.

WWF-Hong Kong understands that voluntary disclosure is essential in establishing public confidence. To ensure that our financial resources are spent appropriately, we are committed to providing clear, accurate and transparent financial information for public scrutiny. Our financial accounts, prepared in accordance with the Hong Kong Financial Reporting Standards, are independently audited by BDO Limited and published yearly in our annual report.
