Who can I contact during the day if I need to leave an emergency message concerning my child? Please call The Woodlands Children’s Museum at 281.465.0955 and a staff person will deliver your message to the appropriate person.

Can you accommodate my child with special needs? We are happy to accommodate children with special needs, but in order for us to be able to help your child have an enjoyable experience at camp we ask that you notify us of your child’s needs prior to your child’s first day of camp. Please help us help your child by notifying us of any allergies, accessibility concerns, behavioral, psychological or emotional conditions or other special needs. Please call 281.465.0955 to speak with Angela Colton or e-mail [email protected]

The Museum is NOT responsible for administering medication to children as we do not have qualified staff. Consult a pediatrician about altering the child’s dosage so that medication can be administered outside of camp.

How are campers supervised? Parents or guardians are required to physically sign campers in and out of class/classes each day and to provide emergency contact information every day. Campers are supervised at all times and are escorted on bathroom breaks and to their next class if they are attending more than one class each day.

May parents stay in the classroom? If you feel that your child is unable to remain in camp without you for more than a few minutes, it is recommended that you wait a year before sending him/her to camp. Our week-long camps promote independent learning and socialization.

How should my child dress for camp? Comfortable clothes that may get messy are the best choices. Campers may also wear their camp t-shirts for easy identification. For safety we recommend closed-toe shoes. Campers may also need a sweater or sweatshirt as the classrooms can become cool.

• 9 & 10 Year Olds •Artistik Adventure Focusing on a different theme every week such as Art Around the World to Art Masters to Cartooning, the young artist serious about love for art and having fun will journey through art to experience a high-energy, interactive hands-on approach to art, language and culture. Open your minds and grab your paintbrushes!

Sizzlin’ Science For the scientist in all of us. Discover science magic tricks and explore the physical and chemical properties of different elements, compounds and mixtures. Discover answers to science questions and perform different slimy, fizzy and gooey experiments. Have a great time exploding… rather, exploring science.

Theatre Games There’s no better way to teach children about theatre other than improvisation… the art of making it up. By playing theatre games, children develop the ability to tell stories collaboratively and learn to work in the moment. Improvisation is an excellent tool for improving verbal expression, enhancing listening skills, building body awareness and boosting self-confidence.

No Boyz Allowed Decorate flip-flops, tie friendship bracelets, create novelty projects with trendy bottle caps and many more surprising projects just for girls only. Spend the last day ‘hangin’ out” in your pajamas and newly made flip-flops while watching a movie and eating popcorn and pizza. Bring one pair of flip-flops in your size and favorite color. Remember… no boyz allowed.

Crazy about Critters Filled with stories, games, crafts and special guest presenters sharing their furry, feathered and scaly animal friends with us, this class is certain to help fulfill the natural curious nature of children this age, while building self-confidence as they investigate and explore some of nature’s “crazy critters”.

Construction Wizardry While discovering the basics of engineering and construction, young architects will design, build and test their creation.

Wacky Weaving Explore basic techniques of weaving such as properly threading the loom and changing the fiber color to weave bracelets, chokers or baskets.
