2007-08 Synchronized Swimming

Keuka finished sixth at the United States Synchronized Swimming CollegiateNationals last year and with its top three swimmers back, the Storm should main-tain their place among the nations premier programs.

Coach Nancy Wightman welcomes back Corenn Cookerly, Shannon Crowder, andJennifer Kaminska, which bodes well for the Storm's individual routines. With thedeparture of half of its A team to graduation, Wightman will rely heavily on incom-ing freshmen or returning sophomores to round out the team routine.

Cookerly, a junior, earned Division III All-Collegiate and Academic All-America hon-ors for the second time in as many years. She placed eighth in the solo routine atlast season's national meet and was fourth overall in B figures. She finished in the

top three in the solo routine in all five of Keuka's competitions while finishing firstonce. Cookerly is among 35 swimmers in the running for a spot on the 2008 U.S.National Synchronized Swimming Team.

Crowder, from South Africa, enjoyed a banner rookie season that included a ninthplace finish in the solo routine at the national competition. Crowder also led theStorm to a 34.5-29 win over No. 5 ranked Canisius College in her first-ever collegiatecompetition by winning A figures.

Kaminska returns to help anchor the Storm's top team, duet, and trio routines. Thejunior competed in every event last season with theexception of the solo routine and performed well inall. She claimed a first place finish in the duet and

team routines against the University of Pennsylvaniaand Penn State University and was part of the 12thbest trio in the nation.

Also back are Academic All-Americans SamanthaJohnson, Adriana Riano, and Sarah Silverman, aswell as Megan Reed.

New to the squad this year and ready to make animmediate impact are freshmen Felicia Lenzo,Shannon ODonnell, Jessica Regelsberger, and TracyRingel as well as sophomore Brianne Lojo.

Coaching Profiles

Head Coach Nancy WightmanNancy Wightman enters her 12th season at the helm of the nationally ranked synchronized

swimming team. Last season, Wightman guided Keuka to a No. 6 finish at the Collegiate

Nationals after a No. 5 finish in 2005-06, the best finish of any non-Division I school.

Wightman is a major figure on the national synchro scene. She is a past president of U.S.

Synchronized Swimming and a past member of the U.S. Olympic Committee Board of

Directors. She has been named chair of the Collegiate Development Task Force for United

States Synchro Swimming (USSS). In that role, she will lead the collegiate development pro-

gram to gain full NCAA status for synchro swimming.

She served as USSS president from 1992-96, USSS vice president of both development and

finance from 1992-96, and is currently the synchronized swimming representative to the

United States Olympic Committee. She is a member of the board and past president of

USSS; past president of the United States Synchronized Swimming Foundation; and past

secretary of United States Aquatic Sports..

The recipient of the U.S. Synchronized Swimming Distinguished Service Award, Wightman

received the 2000 Hall of Fame Contributor of the Year Award.

Prior to coming to Keuka, Wightman was the head coach of the Troy (N.Y.) Sculpins .

She is a 1963 graduate of University of California at Riverside.

Wightman and her husband, Ed, reside in Hammondsport, N.Y.
