GOVERNMENT OF INDIA
MINISTRY OF RAILWAYS
APPROVED MODULES FOR
STAGE WISE TRAINING OF
LOCO RUNNING STAFF
December 2005
MANAGEMENT SERVICES
RAILWAY BOARD
(This supersedes the Training Modules issued in January 2000)
2
FOREWARD
Booklet containing Approved modules for stage-wise training of Loco Running Staff was last issued in January 2000. Since then the need has been felt to make changes in the course content, duration and periodicity of different modules. An attempt has been made to meet these needs by the changes incorporated while compiling this booklet which is in supersession of the Approved Module for Stage-wise Training of Group 'C' and 'D' staff of Loco Running Staff issued in January 2000.
The training modules and the course contents have been meticulously designed to cover latest technological changes both in respect of train operation and loco maintenance. These have been done keeping in view the recommendations of RSRC (Khanna Committee) and the Running Allowance Committee 2002. Simulator training and safety related inputs have been added to make the training more meaningful and purposeful
It is hoped that adoption of these training modules will go a long way in meeting the training needs of the Loco Pilots of the Zonal Railways. The training of Loco Pilots are arranged at Zonal Railway Training Institutes(ZRTIs)/Supervisors’ Training Centres(STCs)/Diesel Traction Training Centres(DTTCs) or Electrical Training Centres(ETCs) on the Zonal Railways. It has been decided that in case of ZRTI/Bhusawal where the Mechanical and Electrical Simulators have been/are being installed, the overall administrative control of the simulators will be under Principal/ZRTI, Bhusawal and the operational control will be with the respective AME/AEE. The other simulators, which are expected to be installed in ETCs/STCs/DTTCs, will be under the control of the respective Principal/Incharge of the training centre.
This scheme will continue to be in operation till the next review. Based on the experience gained, further addition/alteration to the various training modules/detailed course contents will be considered.
Note: The above training modules are compilation of the Board’s letter No.E(MPP)98/3/8
