PROTECTIONAlways know the formation and protection called.Personal Protector makes the call.TIle Personal Protector will give either a "Ray" or a "Lou".Slots will call out the Number of the Man they are taking in tight punt and will give a "WIDE" callif their man is aligned outside on # 1.We are always man protecrion but Zone all twists or stacks.

A "RAY" OR "LOU" call indicates L1efollowing.I. We are punting to the call,2. We \ ' , i 1 1 'Squeeze' the Guard opposite the call.3. The Personal Protector will align to the call and defend that A GAP- #4 from the OUTSIDE.4. The center is protecting A GAP- #1INSIDE opposite the call.S. The Guards are responsible for B GAr- #3 from the OUTSIDE (help A with squeeze call).6. The Tackles are responsible for C GAP- #2 from the OUTSIDE.7 . The Slots are responsible for D GAP-#1 from the OUTSIDE {#2 IF TIGHT Call out hisNumber to Help The Guard and Tackle Your Side8. The Hits are responsible for #1 from the outside if Tight.

TECHNIQUES (Guards and TaCkles)1. Drop step straight back wi th outside foot as you shuffle step with your inside foot.2. Stay low with great knee bend.3. Identify any crosser or twist. Do not chase. We will 'switch' all twists and loops.4. Attack your responsibility by striking from a low plane to a high plane with a solid 3-point hat

and hands blow to the breastplate of the attacker. Do not get Over extended and have a solidbase with a low center of gravity.S . Keep your helmet inside of the attackers helmet.6. Run your feet on impact but do not chase.7, Block until yo u redirect his shoulders or you hear the thud of the ball.

TIME ELEMENTTiming will have a direct bearing on our success. It is a concern for our snapper and punter, as well as

    a. Snapper - Snap to the kicking thigh of the punter at 14 !t S yards at 0.8 seconds or less.b. Punter - Handle time must be 1.2 seconds Or less.c. Total Get-off Time - This allows for small margin of error and 2.0 seconds total get-off.Anything above this allows for possible block.d. Hang Tirne . For SKY punt of 40-45 yards We want a minimum hang time of 4.0 seconds.

For our KILL, and COR..NER kicks this ' i s ' 110t applicable. .. ..e. Coverage Time - If we get 2.0 seconds of get off time + 4.0 seconds of hang time for a total of6.0 seconds or better, our Hi! Men should be sitting in the face of the Returner having had time torelease and sprint 40 yards.

STANCE AND ALIGNMENTCenterThe most important part of the Punt is the snap -.Make it perfect placing it-between the thigh padandthe waist of the Punter. Time = .7 to .8 sec. Snap the ball after the Personal Protector givesReady command and after the punter has given you 'finger flick', Vary your rhythm,Guard's -Two point staggered stance with inside foot up. One foot split in normal situations. Getis far off LOS as possible but remember your helmet must break the belt of the Center. Note; Cutsplit to 6 inches if "squeeze" or Tight Punt Call.Tackles - Two point staggered stance with inside foot up. One foot split in normal situations.Align with your inside foot on the same yard line as the guard and remember your helmet mustbreak the belt line of the Center. Note: Cut split to 6 inches if Tight Punt Call.Guards and Tackles - Your stance should be comfortable with good knee bend in a goodexplosion and shuffle position. Hands on thigh boards, head and eyes up ready to play. Centerand guards should use peripheral vision on the football while slots and hit men take their cue offof the Tackles movement.Slots - Align your inside foot I yard deeper than the Tackles outside foot. Remember you must beable to see daylight between the tackles tail and your helmet. Split the difference between theTackle and the Hit Man. On an Orbit call align hipped on tile Tackle with your inside foot justoutside of the Tackles outside foot.Personal Protector (QB) - Stance should be comfortable with feet parallel to LOS, Have goodknee bend, in a good explosion and shuffle position. You should have your hands on thigh boards, head and eyes up, ready to play, Your alignment is 5 yds. off of the LOS in the Guard/Tackle gap.Your call will dictate whether you align to the Right or the Left.Hit Men Align on the LOS. Stance should be staggered with outside foot up. Have good kneebend, ready for quick release on the Centers snap. Eyes should be inside so you can better hearthe call, see any hand signals and also see the Centers snap, Us;': your peripheral vision on thedefender to aid in release anticipation and execution. With ball on hash align 1/ 2 way between thehash and the top of the numbers if to wide side, Align on the bottom of the numbers if you are tothe short side. With ball in the middle align at top of the numbers.Alignment VariationsT IGHT (P un tin g Inside 5 Y ard L i.n e)

Close Splits, "SQUEEZE" call is automatic.Protector will tighten alignment to LOS and allow far 8 yards in front of the punter.Punter at l 1 yards but at least 1yard from the back of the end zoneWIDE

Explode off the LOS, can use a change of pace move @10 yds.,then accelerate. Always allow 4-5 yds. between you and the boundary on route stem. ~**If we get a hard corner, use good release technique to the outside and prepare to throttle in the hole at 16-22 yds. Fades come into plaa conversion off our Rip/Liz 1 & 2 routes. A clean release is critical. Realize the ball is thrown off "quick" timinAllow good boundary cushion, expect the ball outside, keep your body between the ball and the defender.

FLAT ROUTE. Route by an inside receiver which uses a 2-step rollover technique. Just like the Quick 1 onlyshorter. Assignment is to immediately stretch the flat defender.SHALLOW. Underneath route aiming for 5-6 yards deep @ the far LB. If it is Man technique, use a stair-steprelease to push up and break away from man straight across. Vs. Zone, just angle across and slightly uphill, rthe far LB--if he sits, work beyond him into the dead area, but not into next outside defender. If he drops out, throttle in the voided area and expect the ball. Get turned up, north and south after the catch.BUBBLE. RUn by an inside receiver who is OFF the ball. Open with depth, get another two steps and have heaaround as you gain your widt~. y . J e will work flatter, sooner (not as much depth) on 64/65 ..JVER. Route run by the inside, backside receiver or the lone backside receiver on Naked package plays. Adju

    CADENCE & COMMUNICATION

\Ve will use a variety of cadences that allow us to change the tempo at the line ofscrimmage and not allow a defense to time up their disguises and blitzes. Our regular cadence is rhythmic and all QBs should be using the same tempo.A full regular cadence would be=-"On One"-- "Down ...
