On 14th June 2012 the International Legal Alliance Summit & Awards gathered 550 ma-naging partners, General Counsels and leading pro-fessionals of the legal field from over 50 countries.

In just one day, the participants had the opportunity to run One-to-One Alliance meetings, applaud the best Law, Tax and Intellectual Property departments during the International General Counsels Awards at lunch, hear well-known speakers on 4 confe-rence sessions, and celebrate the best performing independent law firms during the International Legal Awards ceremony in the evening.

Leaders League, the organizer of the summit, is an independent information provider with an office in Paris. Its main three fields of expertise are Strategy, Finance and Law. A long lasting French reference with the “Decideurs” magazine, it also operates interna-tionally through intelligence reports and prestigious international events.

This year, the International Legal Alliance Summit & Awards was proud to present the first edition of its Experts Insights panel sessions. Trough 4 conferences, top management executives shared their most valuable experiences, knowledge and analysis.

The International General Counsel Awards 2012, second edition of a successful ceremony, rewarded the best European General Counsels and the best international Tax and Intellectual Property Departments.In order to elect the Gold Award winners, a high qua-lity and distinguished Jury panel of General Counsels

and members of international associations of cor-porate and tax counsels was formed. The Jury made their decisions on the basis of their professional ex-perience as well as on the selective application forms provided by the distinguished departments.

The International Legal Awards ceremony on June 14th recognized the best independent law firms from their domestic markets and countries with 26 categories.The process to elect the best firms began 6 months prior to the event and engaged a panel of 145 jury members composed of exclusively active General Counsels with extensive expertise in their respective markets and countries. The nomination process was based on suggestions made by the jury and interna-tional rankings. In order to establish the Gold Award winner, the nominated firms filled in a submission document which was presented to the jury that no-ted the firms and decided the winners.
