CME’s 2000 Annual Meeting, held in New Orleans, April N 25-27, featured a variety of symposia, paper sessions, poster sessions, and interactive symposia. Highlights included numer- ous sessions on computerized adaptive testing and standard set- ting methods, plus others on international and cross-lingual assessment, the voluntary National Test, testing accommoda- tions, nontraditional test takers, second language tests, IRT, and testing over the Internet. Two of the invited symposia examined measurement issues for the 21st century. An invited address by the 1998 NCME Career Award winner, Lorrie Shepard, was pre- sented. There were poster sessions sponsored by the NCME Teacher’s Classroom Assessment Recognition Program and by the NCME Graduate Student Issues Committee. NCME also spon- sored nine training sessions with more than 58 participants. (All photos were provided by Ron Berk.) Linda L.
