Ttoday is a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the role that each of us plays by virtue of our Baptism, in handling on our faith and being a witness of the Gospel. We are called to be a catechist for us to echo the teachings of Christ, to hand out our faith to the next generation, by preparing them to re-ceive the sacraments of Baptism, and Confirmation. to be crea-tive and courageous disciples and evangelizers of our time. Not just teachers of faith but as witnesses to make others know Love and follow Christ.

Registrations for Religious Education 2020/2021 are now Open.
Classes will be given out as home based learning. Parents will receive a phone call from the Religious education Office for registrations. Classes will be given by parents with guidance from Mariazinha, Liz and catechists. Children in grades 1-10 will receive a monthly package with weekly lessons and activities regarding each season of the Church. The Parish Office will provide all materials needed for parents to work with their child at home.
If your child is registering for the first time please call the office at 617-547-553. Price -for 1 child is $60 Price -for 2 children will be $100 Price -for 3+ children will be $150 Confirmation Students: Price including Retreat $100

Unção dos Doentes A Igreja encoraja todos os doentes, especialmen-te os que se encontram em condições de saúde precárias em suas casas, nos hospitais ou lares de terceira idade, de receberem a Santa Unção. Poderá acontecer na Igreja depois da missa ou em outro lugar onde o doente fisicamente se en-
contra. Encorajamos as pessoas responsáveis pelos doentes a não esperar até ao último momento para contactar o Sac-erdote. O ultimo sacramento deve ser o Viaticum, ou Co-munhão pelos moribundos.
Anointing of the Sick The church encourages & invites all who are ill, who are to undergo surgery, or who are confined to their home due to illness to be prayed over & anointed with sacred oil. This can take place after Mass, at home or at the hospital. Please do not wait for the last moment for yourself or a loved one to be anointed. The last sacrament is Viaticum or commun-ion for the dying. Please speak to a priest for anointing.

By Dr. Scott Hahn Easter Sunday (Cycle B) The tomb was empty. In the early morning darkness of that first Easter, there was only confusion for Mary Magdalene and the other disciples. But as the daylight spread, they saw the dawning of a new crea-tion. At first they didn't understand the Scripture, to-day's Gospel tells us. We don't know which precise Scripture texts they were supposed to understand. Perhaps it was the sign of Jonah, who rose from the belly of the great fish after three days (see Jonah 1:17). Or maybe Hosea's prophecy of Israel's restora-tion from exile (see Hosea 6:2). Perhaps it was the psalmist who rejoiced that God had not abandoned him to the nether world (see Psalm 16:9-10). Whichever Scripture it was, as the disciples bent down into the tomb, they saw and they believed. What did they see? Burial shrouds in an empty tomb. The stone removed from the tomb. Seven times in nine verses we hear that word - "tomb." What did they believe? That God had done what Jesus said He would do - raised Him up on the third day (see Mark 9:31; 10:34). What they saw and believed, they bore witness to, as today's First Reading tells us. Peter's speech is a summary of the gospels - from Jesus' baptism in the Jordan to His hanging on a tree (see Deuteronomy 21:22-23), to His rising from the dead. We are children of the apostles, born into the new world of their witness. Our lives are now "hidden with Christ in God," as today's Epistle says. Like them, we gather in the morning on the first day of the week - to celebrate the Eucharist, the feast of the empty tomb. We rejoice that the stones have been rolled away from our tombs, too. Each of us can shout, as we do in today's Psalm: "I shall not die, but live." They saw and believed. And we await the day they promised would come - when we, too, "will ap-pear with Him in glory."
25º Domingo do Tempo Comum A liturgia do 25º Domingo do Tempo Comum convida-nos a descobrir um Deus cujos caminhos e cujos pensamentos estão acima dos caminhos e dos pensamentos dos homens, quanto o céu está acima da terra. Sugere-nos, em consequência, a renúncia aos esquemas do mundo e a conversão aos esque-mas de Deus. A primeira leitura pede aos crentes que voltem para Deus. “Voltar para Deus” é um movimento que exige uma transformação radical do homem, de forma a que os seus pensamentos e acções reflictam a lógica, as perspectivas e os valores de Deus. O Evangelho diz-nos que Deus chama à salvação todos os homens, sem considerar a antiguidade na fé, os créditos, as qualidades ou os comportamentos anteriormente as-sumidos. A Deus interessa apenas a forma co-mo se acolhe o seu convite. Pede-nos uma transformação da nossa mentalidade, de for-ma a que a nossa relação com Deus não seja marcada pelo interesse, mas pelo amor e pela gratuidade. A segunda leitura apresenta-nos o exemplo de um cristão (Paulo) que abraçou, de forma exemplar, a lógica de Deus. Renunciou aos interesses pessoais e aos esquemas de egoís-mo e de comodismo, e colocou no centro da sua existência Cristo, os seus valores, o seu projecto.

25th Sunday in Ordinary Time (Cycle A) The house of Israel is the vine of God - who planted and watered it, preparing the Israelites to bear fruits of righteousness (see Isaiah 5:7; 27:2-5). Israel failed to yeild good fruits and the Lord allowed His vineyard, Israel's kingdom, to be overrun by con-querors (see Psalm 80:9-20). But God promised that one day He would replant His vineyard and its shoots would blossom to the ends of the earth (see Amos 9:15; Hosea 14:5-10). This is the biblical backdrop to Jesus' parable of sal-vation history in today's Gospel. The landowner is God. The vineyard is the kingdom. The workers hired at dawn are the Israelites, to whom He first of-fered His covenant. Those hired later in the day are the Gentiles, the non-Israelites, who, until the com-ing of Christ, were strangers to the covenants of promise (see Ephesians 2:11-13). In the Lord's great generosity, the same wages, the same blessings promised to the first-called, the Israelites, will be paid to those called last, the rest of the nations. This provokes grumbling in today's parable. Doesn't the complaint of those first laborers sound like that of the older brother in Jesus' prodigal son parable (see Luke 15:29-30)? God's ways, however, are far from our ways, as we hear in today's First Reading. And today's readings should caution us against the temptation to resent God's lavish mercy. Like the Gentiles, many will be allowed to enter the kingdom late - after having spent most of their days idling in sin. But even these can call upon Him and find Him near, as we sing in today's Pslam. We should rejoice that God has compassion on all whom He has created. This should console us, too, especially if we have loved ones who remain far from the vineyard. Our task is to continue laboring in His vineyard. As Paul says in today's Epistle, let us conduct ourselves worthily, struggling to bring all men and women to the praise of His name.
