Kansas ESGR 1
The strategic alliance with the Employer Partnership of the Armed
Forces (EPAF) gives ESGR volunteers useful resources to provide in-
creased value to employer and service member customers.
Volunteers should familiarize themselves with the functionality of the
career website: www.EmployerPartnership.org, review the search func-
tions and opportunities available for service members and partners in
this area (if you are a veteran or family member, sign –up, sign in and
build a resume). Being familiar to promote the program by giving demon-
strations will provide hands-on assistance to service members during
Yellow Ribbon Reintegration and other events. (how to directions continued on page 3)
The Kansas EPF Program Support Manager (PSM) is Bob Hancock
([email protected] ). ESGR volunteers may send an email of in-
troduction to make the EPAF PSM aware of their interest to help and
the skills they can offer. Other available resources can be found at
Kansas Works (www.kansasworks.com) and Yellow Ribbon Program
(www.yellowribbon.mil). [All links can be found on www.esgr.mil.]
Offer your writing and coaching skills to service members via the EPAF
PSM. Resume and cover letter assistance are important, as well as job
interview practice. Mentor job seekers.
The ESGR/EPAF alliance has the potential to significantly reduce the
reserve component unemployment rates and provide responsible, disci-
plined, drug-free employees for our country. Copy by LTC Matt Leonard and Colleen Allen

tween employers & service mem-
bers.

190th Refueling Wing Educates Employers
From the State Chair Each time I conduct or attend an
ESGR event recognizing out-
standing Employers, Service Mem-
bers or activities that one of our
committee members have con-
ducted, I am astonished. You
can’t believe how proud I am of all
that we do. Since the last bulletin
we have conducted numerous
activities across the state and
many more are scheduled.
As this fiscal year nears the end
(September 30) we find that we
have been fortunate to have all of
our activities funded. The partici-
pation of committee members is
unbelievable and continues to
amaze me. We have exceeded our
goals and have briefed hundreds
of Employers as well as Service
members. This is only accom-
plished by the great committee
members that provide their time
as volunteers. Our full time staff
does a superb job. Their efforts
should not go unnoticed and they
should be commended.
As we plan for the next fiscal
year we will face greater chal-
lenges. We, as a committee, will
have to do what we are doing now
with less. Our budget will be less
than in the past and there will be
no additional monies available.
The steering committee will face
the challenge of planning and
executing activities with more
imagination and less funding.
Will this affect our ability to
support the Service Members and
educate Employers? No, we as a
committee will find a way to meet
our goals and support all that need
our support. I look forward for a
great year to come and the last
three months of this fiscal year
are filled with activities that are
exciting and rewarding to all.
Thanks to the Employers, Service
Members and Committee Members
for their support and stepping
forward to make this a great team
and a successful team.
On April 11th, 2011, Kansas ESGR spon-
sored 10 bosses on a Civic Leader
Flight on a refueling flight with the 190th Air
Refueling Wing out of Topeka,
Ks. During the flight, they got to observe the
refueling of a B-52. They
were briefed by the 190th crew before the
flight, and got to witness the
flight crew in action in the skies above Mis-
souri and Oklahoma. Kansas State Chair
Mick Allen presented an ESGR briefing.
