ldquoUnconquerablerdquo
Jesus Christ began the vast project of establishing the kingdom of God upon earth by calling together a handful of men
Before His departure from the visible human scene He entrusted to these few the awe inspiring task of telling the world about God and His kingdom He promised them supernatural power wisdom and love
The Acts of the Apostles shows how this close knit fellowship set out with joyful and hopeful audacity to build the Kingdom of light in this stygian darkness and the pagan world
The early Christians were held together by their common love for their Lord and His purpose by their worship and their prayers Violent persecution public torture social ostracism and dreadful forms of death could neither quench the fire nor defeat the purpose of the young church
This movement proved unconquerable and still proves unconquerable
Because its unseen roots are in the eternal God

How Do I Become A Christian
Have you ever wondered what you must do to become a Christian or what
you must do to be saved The Bible has an answer that is easy to under-
stand
FIRST you must understand that you need to be saved The Bible says you
need to be saved because you are a sinner Your sin has a penalty You
cannot save yourself The Bible says ldquoall have sinnedrdquo and the ldquowages of sin
is deathrdquo (Romans 323 623)
SECOND you must understand that you can be saved You can be saved
because Jesus died on the cross for your sins The Bible says ldquoGod demon-
strated His love of us in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for
usrdquo (Romans 58)
THIRD you must know what you need to do to be saved The Bible ex-
plains how you can be saved Acts 319 says we must repent and turn from
our sins But repentance alone is not enough Ephesians 28 says that we
must place our faith in Jesus Christ to be saved
NOW you must want to be saved God is waiting for you to ldquowant to ldquo and
then ask Him to save you The Bible says ldquothat if you call upon the name of
the Lord you shall be savedrdquo (Romans 1013)
If you are ready to trust Christ as your Savior and Lord invite Christ into
your heart right now by praying to Him You may word your own prayer or
use the prayer printed here The important thing is that the prayer is sincere
and personal
ldquoDear Lord I know that I am a sinner I know you died for my sins Right
now I invite You into my heart to be my Savior and Lord I willingly turn
away from my sin and give my life to You Thank You for saving me
AMENrdquo
Welcome to Godrsquos Family you have just made the greatest decision of your
life Tell a Pastor or another Christian friend about your decision as soon as
possible

THE CHURCH COVENANT
By what common experience do we enter into spiritual fel-
lowship and covenant relations with one another
Having been led as we believe by the Spirit of God to re-
ceive the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior and on the profes-
sion of our faith having been baptized in the name of our Fa-
ther and the Son and of the Holy Ghost we do now in the
presence of God angels and this assembly most solemnly and
joyfully enter into the covenant with one another as one body
in Christ
What is the bond of our union with one another
We engage therefore by the aid of the Holy Spirit to walk
together in Christian love to strive for the advancement of
this church in knowledge holiness and comfort to promote
its prosperity and spirituality to sustain its worship ordi-
nances discipline and doctrine to contribute cheerfully and
regularly to the support of the ministry the expense of the
Church the relief of the poor and the spread of the Gospel
through all nations
What gracious tasks do we humbly assume
We also engage to maintain family and secret devotion to
religiously educate our children to seek the salvation of our
kindred and acquaintances to walk circumspectly in the
world to be just in our dealings faithful in our engagements
and exemplary in our deportment to avoid all tattling back-
biting and excessive anger to abstain from the sale of and use
of intoxicating drinks as a beverage and to be zealous in our
efforts to advance the kingdom of our Savior
To what manner of life and conversation are we solemnly
pledged
We further engage to watch over one another in brotherly
love to remember each other in prayer to aid each other in
sickness and distress to cultivate Christian sympathy in feel-
ing and courtesy in speech to be slow to take offense but
always ready for reconciliation and mindful of the rules of
our Savior to secure it without delay
What is our Agreement when we move from this commu-
nity
We moreover engage that when we remove from this place we
will as soon as possible unite with some other church where
we can carry out the spirit of this covenant and the principles
of Gods word
What Benediction concludes our Covenant
And may the God of peace who brought again from the dead
the Great Shepherd of the Sheep with the Blood of an eternal
covenant even our Lord Jesus make us perfect in every good
thing to do His will working in us that which is well pleasing
in His sight through Jesus Christ to whom be the glory for
ever and ever Amen

Forgive
I look for the good in everything and everyone
The Book of Genesis shares the story of
Joseph a young man who was sold into
slavery by his brothers yet even in the face
of this injustice Joseph held to the inner
knowing that ldquoGod intended it for
g o o d rdquo ( G e n e s i s 5 0 2 0 )
This knowing served as a foundation for
forgiveness Whatever I am facing in life I
proclaim the good in everything Through
my faith my focus remains on my spiritual
abilities to transform circumstances into
opportunities that benefit everyone
As my ability to work peaceably through all
situations increases my capacity to let go
and forgive is strengthened I feel the
freedom and joy that comes with absolute
f o r g i v e n e s s
I look for the good in everything and
everyone

The History of Valentines Day
St Valentines Day has roots in several different legends
that have found their way to us through the ages One of
the earliest popular symbols of the Valentines day is
Cupid the Roman god of love who is represented by the
image of a young boy with bow and arrow Several theo-
ries surround the history of Valentines Day
Was There a Real Valentine
Three hundred years after the death of Jesus Christ the
Roman emperors still demanded that everyone believe
in the Roman gods Valentine a Christian priest had
been thrown in prison for his teachings On February 14
Valentine was beheaded not only because he was a
Christian but also because he had performed a miracle
He supposedly cured the jailers daughter of her blind-
ness The night before he was executed he wrote the
jailers daughter a farewell letter signing it From Your
Valentine Another legend tells us that this same Valen-
tine well-loved by all received notes to his jail cell from
children and friends who missed him
Love Is the Greatest
13 If I could speak all the languages of earth and of angels but didnrsquot love others I would only be a noisy gong or a clang-
ing cymbal 2 If I had the gift of prophecy and if I understood all of Godrsquos secret plans and possessed all knowledge and if
I had such faith that I could move mountains but didnrsquot love others I would be nothing 3 If I gave everything I have to
the poor and even sacrificed my body I could boast about it[a] but if I didnrsquot love others I would have gained nothing
4 Love is patient and kind Love is not jealous or boastful or proud 5 or rude It does not demand its own way It is not
irritable and it keeps no record of being wronged 6 It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth
wins out 7 Love never gives up never loses faith is always hopeful and endures through every circumstance
8 Prophecy and speaking in unknown languages[b] and special knowledge will become useless But love will last forever 9
Now our knowledge is partial and incomplete and even the gift of prophecy reveals only part of the whole picture 10 But
when the time of perfection comes these partial things will become useless
11 When I was a child I spoke and thought and reasoned as a child But when I grew up I put away childish things 12 Now
we see things imperfectly like puzzling reflections in a mirror but then we will see everything with perfect clarity[c] All
that I know now is partial and incomplete but then I will know everything completely just as God now knows me com-
pletely
13 Three things will last forevermdashfaith hope and lovemdashand the greatest of these is love

Each year beginning on February 1 an entire month of events are planned nationwide honoring the history and contributions of African Americans
The theme for Black History Month in 2018 is African Americans in Times of War honoring those brave men and women who served their countries in the armed forces es-pecially those who made the ultimate sacrifice while de-fending the American ideals of freedom and democracy
During World War II for example more than 25 million black men registered for the draft and one million served as draftees or volunteers in every branch of the armed forces
A decade before the first glimmers of the Amercan civil rights movement most black men were assigned to segregated combat groups
Even so more than 12000 black men who served in the segregated 92nd Division received citations or were decorated for extraordinary heroism on the battlefield Perhaps more famously the Tuskegee Airmen also became legendary for their heroic feats and in total received a Distinguished Unit Citation several silver stars 150 distinguished flying crosses fourteen bronze stars and 744 air medals
At wars end recognition of the African-American contribution to the war effort would eventually lay the groundwork for the civil rights protests of the 1950s and 1960s

Forgive
I look for the good in everything and everyone
The Book of Genesis shares the story of
Joseph a young man who was sold into
slavery by his brothers yet even in the face
of this injustice Joseph held to the inner
knowing that ldquoGod intended it for
g o o d rdquo ( G e n e s i s 5 0 2 0 )
This knowing served as a foundation for
forgiveness Whatever I am facing in life I
proclaim the good in everything Through
my faith my focus remains on my spiritual
abilities to transform circumstances into
opportunities that benefit everyone
As my ability to work peaceably through all
situations increases my capacity to let go
and forgive is strengthened I feel the
freedom and joy that comes with absolute

HEART DISEASE
1 Heart disease refers to several different types of heart conditions starting with coronary heart disease Thatrsquos when plaque builds up
and narrows the walls of your arteries which pump blood to your heart Itrsquos the most common kind
2 Heart failure irregular heartbeat heart valve problems and heart attack all fall under the banner too
3 Heart disease is manrsquos biggest killer In 2009 307225 guys died from ticker trouble in the USmdashor 1 out of 4 male deaths
4 Nearly half of all sudden cardiac deaths occur outside the hospital which suggests that people canrsquot spot a majority of the symptoms
5 Worse 50 percent of guys who die from heart disease have never experienced previous symptoms before You can always be at risk
6 The list of risk factors shouldnrsquot be a surprise High blood pressure smoking excessive alcohol use high cholesterol a poor diet
obesity and physical inactivity all top the list If yoursquore generally unhealthy you significantly up your odds of developing heart dis-
ease
7 Your family history is also strongly linked to your risk for heart disease so let your doctor know if any relatives have had it
8 As for the warning signs keep an eye out for shortness of breath nausea chest pain lightheadedness upper body pains and cold
sweats If any persist see your doc stat
9 Fortunately itrsquos easy to protect your ticker Start by eating a healthy diet thatrsquos low in salt saturated fat and cholesterol ditching cigarettes exercising regularly and following your doctorrsquos instructions 10 The two absolute best ways to slash your risk of dying from the disease lowering your blood pressure and cholesterol About 70 percent of first heart-attack victims have high BP while people with high total cholesterol levels have almost twice the risk of heart disease as those with regular levels
Several other medical conditions and lifestyle choices can also put people at a higher risk for heart disease including 1Diabetes
2Overweight and obesity
3 Poor Diet
4 Physical inactivity
5 Excessive alcohol use

Forgive
I look for the good in everything and everyone
The Book of Genesis shares the story of
Joseph a young man who was sold into
slavery by his brothers yet even in the face
of this injustice Joseph held to the inner
knowing that ldquoGod intended it for
g o o d rdquo ( G e n e s i s 5 0 2 0 )
This knowing served as a foundation for
forgiveness Whatever I am facing in life I
proclaim the good in everything Through
my faith my focus remains on my spiritual
abilities to transform circumstances into
opportunities that benefit everyone
As my ability to work peaceably through all
situations increases my capacity to let go
and forgive is strengthened I feel the
freedom and joy that comes with absolute
f o r g i v e n e s s
I look for the good in everything and
everyone
Bible Verse Even though you intended to do harm to
me God intended it for Good__ Genesis 5020

Several other medical conditions and lifestyle choices can also put people at a higher risk for heart disease including 1Diabetes

and narrows the walls of your arteries which pump blood to your heart Itrsquos the most common kind
5 Worse 50 percent of guys who die from heart disease have never experienced previous symptoms before You can always be at risk
